Every encounter I have had with an employee at this location has been frustrating and unpleasant and I have witnessed these same employees become downright hostile with customers. For some reason this is the only USPS location in Albuquerque that does not have to answer phone calls. I've had to call other USPS locations in Albuquerque to help me reach someone at this main location. Nothing gets resolved here. If there is an issue with you mail, good luck! "It's your problem, not mine" is the attitude you'll get from any employee you ask for help. This location has been an issue for a long time and nothing has been done to improve anything. There is no standard of service and no accountability. I typically support funding the USPS but this location is a great argument for privatization. It makes me angry that tax dollars are being wasted on such a poorly run joke of a facility. It had the correct address but a wrong label put on package which sent package to Fredrickburg, Virginia. That started on April 1. It is now May 29 and the package has not arrived. Postal employees have told me that it was stuck in a "loop". The package has traveled "back and forth" for months. One side of US to the other. I have talked to Tucumcari postal employees and Alabama employees and have been assured that everyone is aware of the error. There are apparently gobs of pics of mistake but still no package. Ive talked to the "hot line" who cant do anything. Now the tracking number says it enroute to the next location but no one can answer what location that is. Time for a pandemic-friendly update. As the general public adapted to our masked new reality, if there was one thing I could count on, it was that the crazies gathered at the post office. For whatever reason it was the post office where I witnessed the most brazen disregard for distancing, sanitizing and, well, just human decency. I feel especially sorry for postal employees, who've weathered this with reasonable calm. I'm going to double-down on my secret, this little nook of a post office in Old Town. I've driven well out of my way to come to this location, particularly during the holidays, because if there were lines, they were short and appropriately spaced. Only one customer allowed inside at a time. Very friendly, even personable help. This is the best location in the city, people, and no, it doesn't quite land five stars.
