The staff there are friendly and efficient but they are woefully understaffed. The wait are really bad and hardly a visit goes by that I don't hear someone complain to total strangers about the efficiency and cleanliness. read more

When I need to mail something that MUST arrive at its destination, I go to the UPS store across the street or to the San Ramon post office. The one in Alamo loses our mail pretty regularly, they make only one attempt at delivering packages (and then leave notes saying it's the final attempt), and they cover up mistakes instead of try to learn from them. So go here if you don't care whether your package gets lost! read more

I've lived in Alamo for years and still dread going to the post office here. You say "friendly", I say "slow." As a very busy mom of three, it drives me crazy that people chat with the employees about their stamp choices while a huge line forms behind them. That happens ALL the time at this branch. Top off the snails pace at which everyone seems to move with the fact that they have lost my packages three times in the past year and you've got a losing combo. George is wonderful and the automated machine at the front is super convienent, but those are the only good things you can say about this otherwise lousy branch. read more

Unable to reach by phone, apparently the phone is taken off the hook. Upon leaving for Hawaii, found my post office box blocked, without any explanation. read more

I came to this post office hoping to send out a package and not have to wait in a long line. There was no line and Edward was so friendly. Usually you don't get such great service at the post office, but this experience was to good not to rave about! read more

Self service station is always down! I have responded to this usps at least 5 different weekends to try to use the self service station because my work hours don't allow me to make it while employees are still working, but the self service station has been down every time! read more

This is a very friendly post office and is in a shopping center so that makes it convenient. I had to come here to buy some stamps and I went to the desk that just dealt with stamps and the guy who sounds like the one in the previous review was hilarious! He was super friendly and chatted up with me about my stamp choice, the great and amazing Bette Davis! We talked about how fierce she was and how awesome it was that they didn't cost more than normal stamps. The location has lots of P.O. Boxes and has plenty of accessible parking. read more

My daughter and I came in to renew our passports today. We were helped by Edward. He was awesome. This is a walk in no appointment needed facility. We were in and out in no time. I've were extremely pleased . read more

Love this post office. Happy staff and very helpful. They helped with our passport renewal and the lines move fast! They can easily troubleshoot any mail issues for me. Great parking as well. read more

This place sucks! Our usual guy was away. We are a business in Alamo that receives A LOT of mail on a daily basis. 2 days...No Mail...You call the post office and they are of NO HELP. So glad our usual guy is finally back! read more

There needs to be better service here especially if your living in this kind of neighborhood. I can't explain how many times I have been in this location and all is wrong from service to wait time to rude employees. One day I went in and waited 30 minutes just to drop off a package while only one employee was helping customers. Another time I walked in with my son who was sleeping in my arms and needed to drop off a package and the lady very rudely said "that's all, then put tape on the label and you can go" I told her I needed a label cover and she said I didn't need that when my return label instructions stated to put the label in a protective cover. Furthermore she put my box and the tape with rudeness on the other side as she helped the next customer and didn't mind to help me tape the label as I had a sleeping baby in my arms. This is why this place has such bad reviews because they have poor customer service and extremely rude employees. I totally give this place a 0. read more

Sad to say the service has gone drastically down hill. My mail comes at night between 5:30 and 7:30 PM. Obviously that shows a staffing problem and a postmaster who doesn't care. Our favorite, George, left but the remaining counter people are good if you can wait. If mailing a small package I always choose to do it with the machine in the lobby instead of waiting in the long line. Anything big I'd go elsewhere. read more

The absolute worst. They don't care and have zero consideration for the people they are serving. Rude, inconsiderate and lost packages are the norm. read more

Our mail frequently gets delivered to the wrong address ... even though it's addressed correctly. Happens ALL the time!

I needed to send a check to a vendor and sent it with tracking. It was going from Alamo to SF. After seven days the check had still not arrived and the post office said it was delayed, they had no idea where it was and I should check back in 30 days. Wow! What is the point of tracking. I was also told to call the phone number on the tracking form for further info. I had already done that and knew you cannot get a live person at that number. No wonder the postal service can't make any money. Horrible service! read more

I have to say our local mail person is awesome but call into the office and the service is horrible. I just moved back to my home after living on the East Coast for one year. Similar to when I moved East I went online and processed a request to have my mail go to my address in Alamo. For some reason I was not getting mail at the requested date (I did not have this issue when I moved East). Apparently I was told that the Alamo office does not look at the online requests you actually have to go into their office and confirm with them - so they were not abiding to the online request (even though I paid the USPS $1 for the transaction - 3 times because it would not work and I was not clear why). I talked to Nikki and she could not have been more rude. read more

Feel like waiting in line? go to the Alamo Post office

Slow, but I love the guy who works here. I think his name is George. Nicest postal guy EVER! He helps you get the best price and is very patient. I love him! He should be the poster person for customer service. He even says stuff like "that's why we're here, to help!" Tell that to some other sour faced postal workers. read more

Having waited a long time in line, I decided it might be faster to use the Automated Postal Station to mail my medium size flat rate post office box. All was successful but there was no information as to "where" on the box to put the approx. 2" x 3" stamp label which came out of the machine. I went inside where Nympha Rodrigues was helping another customer. I politely waited until there seemed to be a break in their actions & said that I only have a question as the where on this box you want me to put this stamp label. She told me I had to stand in line. But I only have a question concerning "where" to put the stamp label I repeated. She insisted I had to stand in line to ask my question. Although she might be technically correct, a lot of employees could answer such a simple question in the time when she was just standing & doing nothing while waiting for her customer. She used more words in telling me I had to stand in line than it would have taken to tell me where on the box to put the label. When she saw me looking at her name tag she began over smiling & chatting with her customer. I stood in line. When it was my turn I repeated my question. She took my preprinted label, slapped it on the front of the box (the only place where it wouldn't cover any writing..it took a nano second & she never did answered my question. I left. In writing, this seems small but her unprovoked attitude, rudeness & slowness were uncalled for. It was because she & another employee were so slow that I left the line in the first place to try the Automated System. These times are truly approximates but from @1986 to 1992 the service & rudeness was so bad that I did not go to the Alamo Station. Then for years it was wonderful. I never experienced rudeness from any of the many employees & felt they did their best to move lines as best they could. Until today. I will give Ms Rodrigues another chance but if she is still rude I will go to another post office. read more

My experience at this post office around 5pm on 9/12/16 was very unpleasant at the start, due to Ms Nympha Rodriguez, and actually quite similar to the experience someone else had in April (I paste their comment below). in addition to her rude and condescending behavior, she refused to serve me when I pointed her attitude was such. I was finally taken well care of by a courteous gentleman who was the polar opposite of Ms Rodriguez. I will think twice, however, before I go to this location, howsoever convenient, because of her. Now I paste below a similar experience that someone else went through not too long ago. Clearly, that feedback has not had any effect on Ms Rodriguez: would someone take note please and address this? This morning , 9/2/ 2016 was the most rude and terrible service ever experienced at the post office. At 09: 00 only one door was open forcing all customers to the P O box area. When the double door were unlocked they were not swung out into the hold open position, we waited there like idiots wondering if we should enter. Queued up we waited for a sign to approach the counter. No sign , no wave , no eye contact , where is the service aspect of this outfit?? This branch is pathetic. This office is unmanaged, uncaring and a waste of wages paid to non interested employees. I wish I could find a way to never come back again. Please hurry and go out of business so that a real service provider can be contracted for. read more

I wish there was a zero star! Hands down THE worst post office ever. The horribly slow lines are just the tip of the iceberg here. Today, for the third time in as many months, I checked my priority tracking receipt and saw that one of my packages was entered incorrectly (wrong city and zip code) and therefore ended up supposedly "out for delivery" in a completely wrong city. I have had packages destined for Colorado end up in Alaska and Kansas. Seriously!!!! When I called the post office to check into the problem, the phone rang for 3 minutes (timed it). The woman who answered could have cared less about the situation. Her words were "nobody's perfect and I wouldn't expect my employees to be perfect"....really! She was worse than no help at all, just succeeded in making me even more frustrated. I will drive the extra few minutes to the main post office in Danville from now on...it may be farther but they don't make these mistakes and the line moves much much faster. read more

There is one gentleman here at this PO that is professional and tries to accommodate and serve customers. But, what is going on with the rest of the employees??? Holy cow!!! I think they are comatose or medicated most of the time. They move like pond water, and therefore, the resulting long lines are ridiculous!!! On one occasion, I had to argue with the clerk for nearly twenty minutes before I received packages 2 of 4 and 4 of 4. After handing me packages numbered 1 of 4 and 3 of 4. Somehow he thought I should be satisfied with only receiving half of the quantity of packages that I knew had all arrived together. Unbelievable!!! It was only after showing him my delivery receipt for the fifth time that he finally, slowly, meandered into the back room and miraculously located my packages. I guess he realized I was not going ANYWHERE until I got my packages. It's just sad that after George retired this place is the most dreaded errand on my list every time! I'd rather get my annual mammogram, than go here! read more
