The only issue that keeps me from giving them 5 stars is the fact that their financial aid representatives are a nightmare to get into contact with. I used my GI Bill to go to school, and for some reason they just forgot to submit my enrollment to the VA for two whole months. I had to talk to three people just to get in contact with the department head and remind them to submit the paperwork so I could get my housing allowance for the month and pay my rent. 1/5 experience on that end.

Ladies, if you're feeling a bit intimidated or worried that you'll be treated differently, don't be. The only thing you really need to survive AFA is a sense of humor (that goes for the guys too) I remember sitting in college, debating whether it was the right path for me or if I should take the leap and pursue a trade. I'm beyond glad I did. I have absolutely no regrets about attending AFA. Ralph, Ronnie, Doc, and Kyle not only taught me during my time there, but they continue to teach and support me even after graduation. Whether I need extra practice or advice, before an interview or for a weld test their doors are always open. Luke, Robert, Marcio, and Gus have also been incredibly supportive and instrumental in helping me grow in my welding career. Never in a million years did I think I'd find myself in aerospace, but here I am and I couldn't have done it without the amazing team at AFA.
