Oscar was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to student success. Being in a one-on-one setting allowed for focused instruction, and he even continued to assist me after he left the school--something I truly appreciated. However, after the classroom portion ended, the experience became difficult. I completed my classes in mid-January and was told I was ready to begin my externship, but didn't receive placement or meaningful communication until mid-March. I had to follow up repeatedly just to get updates. The clinic I was placed at was also in Los Angeles, which was not convenient given the school's Ontario location. Additionally, I received several forwarding emails that I was meant to be out of, other student email responses from a licensing issues--something that should have been handled more professionally and privately. While I'm thankful for the instruction I received from Oscar, the lack of structure and follow-through on the administrative side left a bitter part to my experience and was slightly misled by some of the faulty 5 star reviews left

Carson and Damien did a great job!…read more Carson explained the class portion of it really well and answered questions with confidence and knowledge Over all, we learned necessary subjects in a short time frame! Damien had patience in the yard and his advice helped. He was very patient in the practical exams and explained everything very! These 2 seem over qualified for the job but I'm glad it was them teaching the course. The only down side to this is, there was only 1 fixed cab crane. With the heat and the pressure. Having 2 would've definitely helped getting more seat time early in the morning before the scorching heat came around.! Both swing cab cranes worked great and performed as expected. Nothing fancy but nothing beat up either ! Be ready to absorb a lot of Information in a short period of time. But if I can do it, you can do it to! I enrolled in HealthStaff Training Institute's Phlebotomy Technician program using my Workers' Compensation Supplemental Job Displacement Voucher (SJDV) because I was serious about starting a new career. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely stressful and disappointing. My instructor, Courtney Mason, CPT 1, was involved in numerous issues I experienced during training. I was called "sensitive," told I was not a good fit for phlebotomy, and told that I could not draw blood and should repeat the course or consider another career. I strongly disagreed because I had successfully performed venipunctures. I also experienced disputes over my clinical records. I reported completing numerous successful blood draws, but the school's records reportedly reflected substantially fewer. I believe my completed clinical work was not accurately credited. During training, another student injured my arm while attempting a blood draw she missed my vein and was fishing in my arm with a needle causing excruciating pain. I felt the instructor was not adequately supervising what was happening, and I was subsequently told that I had caused the injury to my own arm. I was also told that I needed to bring my own blood-draw volunteers from outside the school because the school would not provide volunteers for me to complete my required draws. I also had significant administrative issues involving Kavita Mathrani, Director of the Ontario Campus.  My concerns about my status, training, completion requirements, and ability to graduate were handled through administration. What makes this especially confusing is that I was ultimately prevented from completing my original cohort, yet I was later told that I was not formally suspended, expelled, or dismissed. My classmates graduated on May 29, 2026. I did not. I was held back from graduating with my cohort and ultimately placed on a Leave of Absence with additional training requirements scheduled for November 2026. Then came an incident that I consider extremely serious from a health-and-safety standpoint. On June 13, 2026, while at school, the classroom was extremely hot. The HVAC was not functioning properly, and there were missing ceiling panels. I asked the instructor to adjust the temperature before things got out of control never happened. While performing a blood draw, I became overheated, nauseated and lightheaded, passed out/lost awareness, and fell backward, injuring myself. I ultimately required ambulance transportation late on in the day and emergency medical treatment. I also experienced difficulties obtaining school information needed for my EDD appeal, including documentation concerning the school's training-provider status the school had me email information concerning my appeal and did not respond to my request. What makes this entire situation even more frustrating is that my training was being funded through a Workers' Compensation SJDV. I am now questioning whether the voucher funds were properly administered while I was unable to complete my original cohort. I am pursuing complaints with the appropriate agencies because I believe these issues deserve independent review. My advice to prospective students: PLEASE do your homework before enrolling. Ask exactly how clinical draws are documented, how many draws you must complete, who provides your blood-draw volunteers, what happens if you're injured, how medical restrictions are handled, what happens if you fall behind, and what happens if you're unable to graduate with your cohort. Get everything in writing. HealthStaff advertises itself as providing practical, industry-focused training and says it assumes responsibility for helping students develop job-ready skills.  My personal experience did not match what I expected when I enrolled. This is my firsthand experience, and I am sharing it so prospective students can make an informed decision before investing their time, money, and career plans.

I recently bought a home and the sprinkler irrigation system was in dire need of repair. One of…read morethe zone in the front yard didn't work and the valve was leaking and my backyard sprinklers were a mess. I tried calling around but no one was picking up. I was SOO FORTUNATE that I called Irrigator technical services. Richard picked up the phone immediately. With a friendly and welcoming voice, he asked what he can do for me. I explained to him my sprinkler problems and he asked me to send some photos of my lawn valve and timer box. He looked at the photos and then packed his truck with the needed supplies and off he went to my home on the same day. He arrived as promised, assessed the problems and knew what to do! He is very knowledgeable and it's obvious from talking to him that he's a master in his craft. He teaches courses to have other aspiring irrigation technician certified. He was showing me and explaining every step of what he was doing. He even gave me valuable insights and advices on how irrigation system work and how to care for my lawn. My irrigation system needed quite a few repairs, but he knew exactly what to do. He replaced one of the backyard valve system, front yard's diaphragm from the anti-siphon filter, redid the timer wiring, upgraded my timer box, and replace some sprinkler heads to the appropriate types for the garden. He was so nice to talk to and I can tell he genuinely loves what he does and takes satisfaction in helping homeowners get their irrigation system to work to get their lawn and garden in top shape. He knows landscaping very well and was explaining what kind of trees, scrubs and plants I have and how they grow and how I should water them. During his work, he needed some parts from his office. As promised, he came back the next day, and finished the job and now my home has a strong working sprinkler system and an improved timer box that I completely love! I am glad I found a quality and honest irrigation specialist that I can rely on to get the job done. I would definitely seek Richard and Irrigator Technical Service for any future needs. His pricing and quality of work was more than fair. Apparently, he also runs a shop that sell irrigation parts and he partakes in talk shows to help other homeowners get advice on lawn care. They were late on many things and very disorganized. Mid way through they decided to switch from Google classroom to their own portal which was hard to navigate and without warning. And just recently I asked to move my cpt1 (phlebotomy course) to Saturday. However, unfortunately I was having car troubles and live in beaumount and asked to move to another month and they counted the day change as a schedule change and said it was my second time. I'm sorry... I'm just paying 5k out my minimum wage pocket and asked for them to rearrange the class I paid for. Also, they only have one classroom and if there are two courses taking place expect to be pushed to another room with no desk and at one point a whole bunch of phlebotomy tubes all over the floor. On the phone to change the class schedule (for phlebotomy) she said I could only do it if I pay the rest of the course off before moving it. I agreed However, she said she would let me know in October when the class would take place (or when she changed it) and she let me know the day before I have to go in and said that was normal for her to do that because she always messags before the day the class takes place (1 day notice is not enough time). She made it sound like it was my fault because she said she stated this on the phone almost two months ago. Now I have to pause work to go to a class or be completely dropped from it. The only thing this place got going for it is the teachers otherwise I would not even think of going here. Also, there is a way to take these courses for free basically but they will not let you know before you sign up. Just a heads up.
