This is a warning for any future students considering enrollment. I am enrolled in their DMS…read moreprogram and am having the worst experience. They are extremely unprofessional and unorganized. My cohort was not informed about the new semester start date, the class days, or whether classes would be online, hybrid, or in person. Nothing. We are a few days into the 3rd semester, received the schedule the day of. If I had not woken up early on Monday to log in to Moodle, I would have missed the first day of class, since they did not inform us of anything. I sent emails to Heather Benevento (Director of Admissions) and Tammy Latu (Executive Director) with no reply. It took me sending a follow-up email for Heather to reply and say that I would hear back by the end of the day from either of them. Of course, to no surprise, I did not receive an email. Whenever I call the campus, my calls go unanswered. I leave messages, and they are not returned. They use the excuse that it's a new campus and ask us to give them some grace, but if you are late on a tuition payment, late to class, or miss a day, they will make sure you face the consequences ASAP. Turns out the schedule we were given for the semester is not even accurate. Our professor had to inform us today that our lab day is canceled because the school doesn't have the supplies (shocker!). And now we will have lab on a day we were told there was no class. What about those of us who have jobs? Doctor's appointments? Job interviews? This school expects you to form your life around them and only cares about getting their money and nothing else.

I can't recommend Pete Mateo enough as an HVAC instructor. I had a positive relationship with the director at my trade school. Due to needing to prioritize my…read moreresponsibilities as a father, I informed the school that I needed to take a temporary leave of absence to ensure my personal obligations were properly handled before returning. The school approved a 90-day leave agreement. However, around day 82, before the agreed period ended, the school contacted me and informed me that my program was being shut down. They also stated that I would not receive my certificates and that I would still be responsible for outstanding fees and payments, despite the program being discontinued before I could complete it. I would not recommend this school. As a nonprofit organization, they often experience delays in receiving materials, sometimes taking two to three months. The staff's communication with students is unprofessional, and they do not provide meaningful assistance with job placement after completion. However, if someone is simply looking for a way to pass time, this school may be an option. Mr.Bridges

I don't even know where to begin when it comes to how amazing everyone at American Fabrication…read moreAcademy is. Luke and his team are incredibly professional instructors who are truly dedicated to bringing out the best in each student. Ladies, if you're feeling a bit intimidated or worried that you'll be treated differently, don't be. The only thing you really need to survive AFA is a sense of humor (that goes for the guys too) I remember sitting in college, debating whether it was the right path for me or if I should take the leap and pursue a trade. I'm beyond glad I did. I have absolutely no regrets about attending AFA. Ralph, Ronnie, Doc, and Kyle not only taught me during my time there, but they continue to teach and support me even after graduation. Whether I need extra practice or advice, before an interview or for a weld test their doors are always open. Luke, Robert, Marcio, and Gus have also been incredibly supportive and instrumental in helping me grow in my welding career. Never in a million years did I think I'd find myself in aerospace, but here I am and I couldn't have done it without the amazing team at AFA. And of course, shoutout to the wonderful ladies in the office, they are always a delight to talk to and often the highlight of my day. Whatever I needed, they were there to help. P.S. Sorry it took me so long to leave a review... I've been busy working at the jobs you guys helped me get!

This school changed my life in the best ways. I came straight out of high school with an interest…read morein welding and fabrication, but no hands-on experience. From day one, the American Fabrication Academy taught me the foundational skills I needed to enter this trade and gave me lifelong mentors I now consider family. Before attending AFA, my only work experience was babysitting. After graduating in March, it took a little time, but by May I had job offers from SpaceX and Anduril Industries at just 19 years old. I'm beyond grateful for how much this school helped me during and even after the program. If you're looking for a trade school that truly cares about your future not just your tuition this is the place. The staff here go above and beyond to set you up for success, and that support doesn't end when you graduate. I want to give a special thank you to all the instructors who were a part of my journey: Luke, Marcio, Kyle, Ronnie, Doc, and David, Robert, as well as Gus, the recruiter, and Silvia at the front desk. Each of them played a role in my growth. They're not only incredibly knowledgeable, but they also know how to keep things fun always joking around, but dead serious when it comes to teaching you the craft and work ethic this industry demands. In my opinion, AFA is the top trade school in California. To this day, I'm still learning from the advice and lessons they gave me things I never got from traditional high school or anyone for that matter. Forever grateful for the family I made at AFA. Thank you for everything. -Christine class #39
