Official LVN from Cohort 121! The beginning of this journey was very bumpy, by our third term we had a new DON and a new clinical instructor, the difference was night and day! Mr. Adnan was quick to reply when I had any questions. Mr. Tim was very well organized, he was great! He improved our clinical scheduled by a lot! He worked hard to get us more clinical sites that would improve our learning experience, and listened to any concerns we had. Mr. Liquete is a beyond amazing, extremely competent instructor, you can really see how passionate he is about teaching through his lectures. Every single piece of advice, tips and tricks to testing, down to the positive affirmations he had us repeat everyday helped keep me focused and confident I was going to get through nursing school. Mrs. Anita is another theory instructor I would like to thank she was there for us all three terms, nursing school is really hard, she was very supportive and sympathized with us through every frustration we shared with her. She helped as much as possible to make sure we succeeded. Ms. Flo was one of my favorite clinical instructors, she had a lot of her experience to share with us, great advise to give as well, she made sure we put in practice all the skills we learned while at our clinical sites. Ms. Sarah was another clinical instructor that was very hands on along with Mrs. Kristin. Mr. Astorga was very creative when teaching us during our clinical sign offs. Mr. Marlon was another amazing clinical instructor, he helped us visualize everything we were learning, when we had questions he made it easy to understand the explanations and while out on our clinical sites he also made sure we put in practice everything we were learning. I will miss all the wonderful staff, my peers, but I'm taking with me the opportunity I had of becoming a nurse, making lifelong friends, and an incredible experience that will be locked for ever in my heart.

I have mixed emotions while writting this review because I want to be 100% honest with my feedback. I want this school to improve because you have the potential to have something very good here, just be consistent and choose wisely. Management matters, the first 3 terms were a nightmare to me. I have a set calendar because I have a family member that needs to be taken to med appts and therapies. My calendar is set at least 6 months in advance. The clinical coordinator never had the schedule on time, or maybe for her one night before was on time. For over a year I was not able to be there for my family member, only because the clinical coordinator was totally incompetent. The clinical coordinator was terrible to deal with, extremely rude, horrible manners. Instead of having an environment of sisterhood and positiveness, she created animosity. I actually believe she enjoyed making the students miserable. I have to say in 4th term everything changed for the best, Mr TIMOTHY ARRIVED. He is young, sweet, kind, positive, always willing to listen to the students and help us! Consistently through my time in this school there was an instructor that was always there for us and gave us hope and was always encouring us, his name is Mr LIQUETE :). He isnt only an amazing, an extremely smart NP, but also the best theory teacher, he would make theory class enjoyable. He was not scared to reply to hard questions, he would actually find the answer even if he didnt know it. He is AWESOME! The reason I finished my last semester is because of all of his moral support. He deserves to be recognized because he makes a huge difference. I want to give out a special shout-out to Mr Marlon, he was my favorite clinical instructor. He would teach a pathology so well that I could see it in my mind. Genius, creative and specially he teached in a fun way, not boring (old style). I cannot forget Miss Anita. She was there for every single one of us for 3 semesters and has such a good heart, willing to accommodate and make the students feel better. Nursing school is very chaotic, hard and stressful but Miss Anita had a way to make you feel safe and that you could do it!

Nursing school isn't just about learning skills--it's about trusting the process, the school, and your instructors. NorthWest wasn't perfect when I started. Personal struggles and previous leadership made the first half challenging. But things have shifted in the past six months. The school is evolving in a positive direction, particularly with stronger clinical partnerships. I graduated because of the dedication of my instructors, in both theory and clinicals. Thank you to Mrs. Dee, Mr. Sam, Mrs. Janice and Mr. Journey, Mr. Tim--you helped me finish what I started.

What is the schedule for the RN program? Do they offer evening classes?

Hello, thank you for reaching out. An Admissions Advisor can give you more information related to our Registered Nursing program including costs, schedules, and requirements. You can call our campus or visit for more information.

Does the Riverside campus have an occupational therapy assistant program?

Hello Sara, thank you for reaching out! Unfortunately, we do not offer that program at North-West College.

What are the class schedule like now during covid? In person? Hybrid, online?

What are the class times offered for the LVN program at the riverside location? How long for part time students to complete the program?

You won't complete the program period. Once they cash in your Pell Grant they don't need you anymore. Could be 12, 15, 18 months. How patient are you? How many hours do you work currently? Less than 40% complete the program on time why don't you… Read more

Hi I like to know what are the requirements for the LVN program?

Is there an evening/night class for the LVN program?

Yes

Hello, does anybody know what the schedule is for the LVN program. Is there a part-time program or is it accelerated and what are the hours and days?

I'm so sorry for the delayed response, I am just seeing this now. Honestly I'm not sure I believe they have both part time and full time. I am attending during the day. Call their office. The staff is super friendly :)

Luke and his team are incredibly professional instructors who are truly dedicated to bringing out the best in each student. Ladies, if you're feeling a bit intimidated or worried that you'll be treated differently, don't be. The only thing you really need to survive AFA is a sense of humor (that goes for the guys too) I remember sitting in college, debating whether it was the right path for me or if I should take the leap and pursue a trade. I'm beyond glad I did. I have absolutely no regrets about attending AFA. Ralph, Ronnie, Doc, and Kyle not only taught me during my time there, but they continue to teach and support me even after graduation. Whether I need extra practice or advice, before an interview or for a weld test their doors are always open. Luke, Robert, Marcio, and Gus have also been incredibly supportive and instrumental in helping me grow in my welding career. Never in a million years did I think I'd find myself in aerospace, but here I am and I couldn't have done it without the amazing team at AFA. And of course, shoutout to the wonderful ladies in the office, they are always a delight to talk to and often the highlight of my day. Whatever I needed, they were there to help. P.S. Sorry it took me so long to leave a review... I've been busy working at the jobs you guys helped me get!

From day one, the American Fabrication Academy taught me the foundational skills I needed to enter this trade and gave me lifelong mentors I now consider family. Before attending AFA, my only work experience was babysitting. After graduating in March, it took a little time, but by May I had job offers from SpaceX and Anduril Industries at just 19 years old. I'm beyond grateful for how much this school helped me during and even after the program. If you're looking for a trade school that truly cares about your future not just your tuition this is the place. The staff here go above and beyond to set you up for success, and that support doesn't end when you graduate. I want to give a special thank you to all the instructors who were a part of my journey: Luke, Marcio, Kyle, Ronnie, Doc, and David, Robert, as well as Gus, the recruiter, and Silvia at the front desk. Each of them played a role in my growth. They're not only incredibly knowledgeable, but they also know how to keep things fun always joking around, but dead serious when it comes to teaching you the craft and work ethic this industry demands. In my opinion, AFA is the top trade school in California. To this day, I'm still learning from the advice and lessons they gave me things I never got from traditional high school or anyone for that matter. Forever grateful for the family I made at AFA. Thank you for everything. -Christine class #39

Honestly, please believe all the one star reviews and whoever is responding to these one star…read morereviews you can see what kind of person is responding by gaslighting and trying to discredit their experience with this school. Please please do your research and get as much information as you can before signing away . I went to the school last year. I should've really done my research before getting myself in involved with this school. First of all everybody in that office is very rude and unprofessional. They were very unhelpful, inconsistent and hard to get a hold of when it came to something that YOU needed. Oh but when they need something from you, they will harass YOU. And by that I mean, they will call and text you at all hours of the day and be rude and gaslight you. I had to block a Jasmine Rodriguez, because after I responded to her, and I had clearly told her that I didn't want to sign a certain paper that was not mandatory for me to sign due to not receiving the service that she was trying to have me sign. She kept texting me, Emailing me, gaslighting me and questioning every answer that I had for her. After not answering her for ONE DAY, she went and harassed my family. I will say this though, my on campus teacher was the sweetest, kindest and most amazing teacher. I just hope in order for them to just do somewhat better, they need to either retrain their staff is in that riverside campus office or get people who actually like to do their job. You will notice that when you call the school they'll be very kind to you until you're already a student. They'll give you the biggest attitude and treat you like you're an annoyance. And I'm not just speaking for myself, but all of my colleagues and previous students that I met during my work experience had horrible experiences with this campus so I know for a fact, that I'm not the problem. Also, please look up how much money you would make starting off in these careers because again I didn't do my research and that is my fault. You don't make a lot of money and there's not a lot of jobs available out there. And yes, I'm not gonna give my actual name as I'm not trying to have that school harassed me again, I will only state that I graduated with a summa cum laude. And if you're already a student here, my only advice is to keep all the receipts and paperwork that you get because they will try to gaslight you.

*Client Perspective*…read more I do not recommend this place for paid services (face) as you can get the same value by going to a professional electrologist and have the confidence that they are doing it correctly and quickly. My issue is not with the electrologists as they are learning, but with the business not being fair in how they charge for services. Professionals only charge for hair removal time, but here the owner is including check-in, setup, and catapherisis (at the end) time which is usually 20-25 min. For an hour appt today, I had 35 minutes of actual treatment. On a prior visit, I had 5 minutes of hair removal for an hour session because the "senior" technician had not worked on the chin and could not remove the hair despite poking me dozens of times with the needle/probe. I brought these issues to the owner's attention because it is unethical how they are charging customers and not being transparent. Instead of using this feedback to improve business practices, she suggested I find another place. If the owner wants customers to be altruistic by giving students practice, then she should not be charging for any services since it is already benefiting her for-profit school and students. I am barely clearing my chin out in 8 sessions, as students remove approx. 40-50 hairs per hour compared to over 200 hairs by professionals. The value for your money and time is the same as going to a professional. I have found several electrologists in the area that are $90 per hour. The $20 per hour will cost the same in the long-run if the professional is removing 4x the rate as a student and more experienced to provide permanent results.
