There was also like an $85 difference between the amount I paid and the amount a different nurse paid. I felt horrible because the other nurse ended up having to pay that extra 85. Let me start off by advising anyone considering the 5 week course to not underestimate the challenge. The EMT scope of practice may not seem very large, but the amount of knowledge you need to learn is vast. The course requires a 1500+ page textbook and you WILL need to learn the entirety of that book in the four weeks of lecture you have at your disposal. It's tough. Our class of nearly 50 had less than 20 graduates. You need to have a good work ethic, pay attention in class, and quite frankly being a good test taker will take you far. With all this being said, our instructor Crystal did a phenomenal job and prepared us better than I believe anyone else could have with the amount of material we needed to learn in the amount of time we needed to learn it. Combining a wealth of real world experience with an extremely impressive/comprehensive knowledge of all things EMS/Anatomy/Physiology Crystal did an exemplary job of teaching us what we needed to learn and preparing us for the NREMT after. I am grateful for the instruction I received and the experience as a whole.
