After cleaning. (Photos not in order)

La Sierra University is a beautiful campus full of wonderful, kind and diverse people. I would recommend anyone to study, visit or work here as it is truly a life changing experience. With that being said, there are several areas that could be improved upon. Here's an insider scoop of what to expect when you're here. 1. As a student you may experience long processing / response time for any academic requests. You may also experience long queues for the cafe, but waiting in line may give you time to make friends with others waiting in line. You will come to realize that the people you need talk to are sometimes hard to track down and have limited time for you. But they are super kind once you do manage to find them. 2. The campus is classified as an arboretum (tree sanctuary) so there are many birds that leave droppings and the trees themselves cause everything underneath them to turn black with heavy soot and grime. I noticed there was very little attention given to seating areas and most of them are all terribly filthy. For a university where their students are paying upwards of $50,000 annually to attend you would think this would be a top priority to be regularly maintained daily. I took my upon myself to bring my pressure washer in once a week and clean some areas. (I attached before and after pictures so you can see just how rundown things were getting.) 3. If you're planning to work here someday make sure that you're mindful and make it a point to always be hyper politically correct. If you send an email that could be perceived by someone as even slightly "offensive" they will promptly terminate you without warning and send you home. 4. If you need technical support from their IT department as a student or employee expect long wait times or even little to no support. Something is going terribly wrong in that department and should be looked into. 5. Many false promises. One example, The president told me he was going to buy me lunch and simply never did. It's the little things. Overall, I think the good aspects of this school outweigh the bad and it's a great place to connect with highly educated people and learn about their Seventh Day Adventist culture. I hope there will be a plan put into place to make sure seating areas never look like these pictures again as I found it to be terribly shameful for them to be left like that. It's more important now than ever before for Universities like La Sierra to thrive and grow.

Very beautiful campus and definitely well maintained you can tell that the culture and of the…read morepeople there is what makes this campus the way that it is there are some mix of old and new buildings they are all well maintained and cared for food at the food Hall is pretty good for a cafeteria at a university there are also other chain restaurant and drink options such as Coffee Bean and the Habit as well as other places it may seem like a large intimidating campus at first but once you walk a few times things are if I mean very familiar and it's really not that much walking many people have electric bikes but walking is just fine get your steps in another side note the recreation building is one of the best if not the best in the University of California system offering pickleball tennis weights and wall climbing and bouldering and much much more

Although I was not a presenter, I saw that there were presenters from China, Korea, India, many African countries, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai. The food and snacks of course were wonderful and the host (president Dr. Raj Singh) is one of the most gracious people you'll ever meet. He made sure everybody had whatever they needed during the presentation and made sure every's needs were taken care of. Luckily I was not from out of town but I know he help arrange some great deals on hotels for all the presenters and I think helped arrange entertainment for them too. If you have a paper or work you'd like to present, send it in to the University. I know they hosts conferences on many different topics. If you're work is accepted then be prepared to have a great time presenting and making friends with colleagues from around the world!

Shout out to Ms. Janice & Ms. Rosalie for the amazing support and encouragement!!!! These clinical…read moreinstructors are the reason I kept going and strived to never give up!!!!

This is a warning for any future students considering enrollment. I am enrolled in their DMS…read moreprogram and am having the worst experience. They are extremely unprofessional and unorganized. My cohort was not informed about the new semester start date, the class days, or whether classes would be online, hybrid, or in person. Nothing. We are a few days into the 3rd semester, received the schedule the day of. If I had not woken up early on Monday to log in to Moodle, I would have missed the first day of class, since they did not inform us of anything. I sent emails to Heather Benevento (Director of Admissions) and Tammy Latu (Executive Director) with no reply. It took me sending a follow-up email for Heather to reply and say that I would hear back by the end of the day from either of them. Of course, to no surprise, I did not receive an email. Whenever I call the campus, my calls go unanswered. I leave messages, and they are not returned. They use the excuse that it's a new campus and ask us to give them some grace, but if you are late on a tuition payment, late to class, or miss a day, they will make sure you face the consequences ASAP. Turns out the schedule we were given for the semester is not even accurate. Our professor had to inform us today that our lab day is canceled because the school doesn't have the supplies (shocker!). And now we will have lab on a day we were told there was no class. What about those of us who have jobs? Doctor's appointments? Job interviews? This school expects you to form your life around them and only cares about getting their money and nothing else.

Honestly, please believe all the one star reviews and whoever is responding to these one star…read morereviews you can see what kind of person is responding by gaslighting and trying to discredit their experience with this school. Please please do your research and get as much information as you can before signing away . I went to the school last year. I should've really done my research before getting myself in involved with this school. First of all everybody in that office is very rude and unprofessional. They were very unhelpful, inconsistent and hard to get a hold of when it came to something that YOU needed. Oh but when they need something from you, they will harass YOU. And by that I mean, they will call and text you at all hours of the day and be rude and gaslight you. I had to block a Jasmine Rodriguez, because after I responded to her, and I had clearly told her that I didn't want to sign a certain paper that was not mandatory for me to sign due to not receiving the service that she was trying to have me sign. She kept texting me, Emailing me, gaslighting me and questioning every answer that I had for her. After not answering her for ONE DAY, she went and harassed my family. I will say this though, my on campus teacher was the sweetest, kindest and most amazing teacher. I just hope in order for them to just do somewhat better, they need to either retrain their staff is in that riverside campus office or get people who actually like to do their job. You will notice that when you call the school they'll be very kind to you until you're already a student. They'll give you the biggest attitude and treat you like you're an annoyance. And I'm not just speaking for myself, but all of my colleagues and previous students that I met during my work experience had horrible experiences with this campus so I know for a fact, that I'm not the problem. Also, please look up how much money you would make starting off in these careers because again I didn't do my research and that is my fault. You don't make a lot of money and there's not a lot of jobs available out there. And yes, I'm not gonna give my actual name as I'm not trying to have that school harassed me again, I will only state that I graduated with a summa cum laude. And if you're already a student here, my only advice is to keep all the receipts and paperwork that you get because they will try to gaslight you.
