This is a warning for any future students considering enrollment. I am enrolled in their DMS…read moreprogram and am having the worst experience. They are extremely unprofessional and unorganized. My cohort was not informed about the new semester start date, the class days, or whether classes would be online, hybrid, or in person. Nothing. We are a few days into the 3rd semester, received the schedule the day of. If I had not woken up early on Monday to log in to Moodle, I would have missed the first day of class, since they did not inform us of anything. I sent emails to Heather Benevento (Director of Admissions) and Tammy Latu (Executive Director) with no reply. It took me sending a follow-up email for Heather to reply and say that I would hear back by the end of the day from either of them. Of course, to no surprise, I did not receive an email. Whenever I call the campus, my calls go unanswered. I leave messages, and they are not returned. They use the excuse that it's a new campus and ask us to give them some grace, but if you are late on a tuition payment, late to class, or miss a day, they will make sure you face the consequences ASAP. Turns out the schedule we were given for the semester is not even accurate. Our professor had to inform us today that our lab day is canceled because the school doesn't have the supplies (shocker!). And now we will have lab on a day we were told there was no class. What about those of us who have jobs? Doctor's appointments? Job interviews? This school expects you to form your life around them and only cares about getting their money and nothing else.

I showed up the first two days and then after class on the second day they call and tell me they never enrolled me in the right course BUT if I can put my life on hold again in a month, I can do the 8 week course in a month. even though I've already been in school for 2 days. and then they start calling me and making me seem difficult because I don't know how I'm supposed to figure out childcare again andhow I'm supposed to keep putting off working and life for the school who can't even submit my enrollment papers on time. And they want to give me an attitude. They don't care about your education. They care about their image and looking good

Lie. They failed to mention I can't have my diploma till I've paid in full which is making it extremely hard to find a job. Do not go here. Find another school. They promise you everything but don't follow thru on anything. The administrative staff sucks. They can't do their jobs efficiently or effectively. Every one I went to school with is having the same problems. Liars.

My son (26) became a CW after completing college and hating the job he got after graduating. I am proud of him and how excited he is about the future. They provide a job search service and get the student prepared for the work force. Luke and his team are incredibly professional instructors who are truly dedicated to bringing out the best in each student. Ladies, if you're feeling a bit intimidated or worried that you'll be treated differently, don't be. The only thing you really need to survive AFA is a sense of humor (that goes for the guys too) I remember sitting in college, debating whether it was the right path for me or if I should take the leap and pursue a trade. I'm beyond glad I did. I have absolutely no regrets about attending AFA. Ralph, Ronnie, Doc, and Kyle not only taught me during my time there, but they continue to teach and support me even after graduation. Whether I need extra practice or advice, before an interview or for a weld test their doors are always open. Luke, Robert, Marcio, and Gus have also been incredibly supportive and instrumental in helping me grow in my welding career. Never in a million years did I think I'd find myself in aerospace, but here I am and I couldn't have done it without the amazing team at AFA. And of course, shoutout to the wonderful ladies in the office, they are always a delight to talk to and often the highlight of my day. Whatever I needed, they were there to help. P.S. Sorry it took me so long to leave a review... I've been busy working at the jobs you guys helped me get!

The owner of this business openly expressed that she wants her business to be the "McDonald's" of…read moremental health care companies. Not exactly what one would imagine as a business model to support our already underserved veteran population. This company serves a majority veteran patient population often times suffering with PTSD. Leadership routinely assigns these complex cases to the intern (students) volunteers. These students work for free as part of their internship agreement and are the backbone of the operation. It is apparent this site is an intern mill. It is apparent this is to maximize profits, which co-aligns with the "McDonald's" business model. The leadership is very toxic to the employees oftentimes belittling staff and routinely making interns cry during group supervision. Many times interns hours are held based on performance and leadership refuses to sign their much needed documentation for hours (BBS experience form) as a means of coercion and manipulation. If an intern speaks up and expresses their needs the leadership will report them to their school in order to place them on Academic probation preventing them from seeking another internship site which allow the intern to extorted for more money. IF YOU ARE AN MFT/CSW,PCC STUDENT, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS SITE. It is not worth it unless you are conducting research on Narcissists ran Internship Mills that prey on the Veteran Affairs patient population under the guise of a 501c3, then this is your place. If you are a patient, there are great therapists here. But as an organization and especially the leadership it is as toxic as it comes. Consider yourself warned.

When I inquired as to why she said, "I'm just the receptionist" and then seemed frustrated when I asked for a follow up call from Debra the counselor. She said, "You can just call your insurance provider, she's already been in touch with them." I told her It doesn't have to be lengthy; a sentence will suffice." She said she would give her the message. During the first session/orientation Debra stated there would be a closure or landing session whenever services end so the person isn't left hanging. Not only am I left wondering the specifics, but there was no closure, and it is unprofessional to state something during client orientation and then not honor it.
