The website gave me the option of in person or video appointment. I picked the in person option and a couple days later I received my confirmation email confirming my in person appointment with the address of the facility. On the day of my scheduled appointment I arrived 15 minutes early and was informed right at my appt time that there was a confusion and my consultation was over the phone. So unfortunately I did not get to see anyone even though I drove down there. Their location is very pretty and calming though.

Amongst the many breakfasts I intruded on, this special breakfast meeting at OPARC really opened my eyes about the world around us. OPARC (Ontario Pomona Association for Retarded Citizens) is a nonprofit organization centralized in the IE (Inland Empire) created to help those with disabilities and their families. We were given a tour of the facilities and we were able to see how OPARC was able to put these people into different programs (depending on their situation). They have a "variety of programs for people with Down Syndrome, epilepsy, autism, cerebral palsy, and mental retardation" (oparc.org). One thing that I still remember to this day is when we entered a room where all they did was putting an item into the plastic packaging and sealing it up. The faculty member at OPARC explained that these simple activities are so simple and easy that an average person would probably be unwilling to do it, especially for less than minimum wage. OPARC takes those simple tasks and with government aid, they are able to pay these disabled workers a lesser pay doing these simply BUT USEFUL and necessary work to contribute to society and to give these people meaning to their lives. That is just one of many examples of the things that OPARC does to help those with disabilities. Their mission statement is: "Enabling People with Disabilities to Achieve Their Full Potential" and this is such a valiant cause!! People with disabilities deserve every right to be emotionally fulfilled with their lives and OPARC is doing a wonderful job helping them with that despite the setbacks they are forced to face. If you're ever looking for somewhere to donate to, this is a great cause! Or maybe just do some research about it and be less ignorant about the world around us :)

In the 6+ months I worked with them, I found PH's team of caregivers to be trustworthy, responsible, and truly caring. (The case managers, Ben and Brian, were even able to accommodate my somewhat niche request of finding Filipino caregivers who spoke Tagalog, to put my grandmother at ease.) For most of this time, I lived across the country -- so a lot of the coordination was done over the phone, and Peaceful Hearts was always on top of things. Finding quality home care can be a stressful, daunting task -- but Peaceful Hearts went above and beyond, and exceeded my expectations.

Earlier this week I received a visit from a young man named Trevor who said he was the hospital…read moreadministrator. He had read my first yelp complaint and assured me everything here is not as horrible as I think it is but from now on if I have an issue to call the main number to the facility and ask to be transferred to his voicemail and leave a message. Since then I have left him messages on 3 different occasions for 3 different issues for pretty much zero resolutions. On this past Tuesday I was transported on a gurney 1 hour each way to my dialysis in hemet. The trip was brutally painful. When i got back I told many nurses, office staff and even made several calls telling whoever would listen (or who I THOUGHT was listening) that I refused to make that trip again. My left collarbone and arm are broken along with my left hip. I have a pressure sore on my tailbone. Laying on a gurney in a bumpy transport van for 2 hours total was more than my broken 70 year old body could handle!!!! I only go to dialysis Tuesdays and Saturdays so I figured in the 4 days in between one of the many people that work here could have relayed the message to this "hospital" and the transport team I would not be going today to dialysis. At 3am transport came anyway. I apologized to them for making a wasted trip and now my anxiety is once again through the roof. Long story short I did what Trevor the administrator told me to do. I called the facility and asked to be transferred to his voicemail to relay all this information as HE REQUESTED! They refused to transfer me and the nurse came back to my room to tell me they cant transfer to his voicemail because his office is locked. Now I'm no brain surgeon but, HUH???? I've had more anxiety this short week here then I've had my whole life. I am full of anguish and depair, and on top of everything physical pain. Since I know Trevor reads yelp before checking voicemail I believed this follow up would be a quicker way to get my point across.

Clearly shes not empathetic to new patients and much too much busy for new appointments for non-patients. I requested her specifically due to the form of therapy she does. But her receptionist, appointment scheduler just turned me away. I was referred to other 'clinical' therapists that i did not care for because they do not do the kind of therapy that Lyndee does. Lyndee's form of therapy from her website states: "Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). Empath. Do any of these words sound familiar to you? Have you ever felt or have been told that you are "too sensitive"? Maybe you have felt empathy for others on such a deep level that is hard to explain. You may feel as if you actually begin to take on the mental and emotional state of another and find yourself dealing with added anxiety, depression." Clinical Psychologist don't connect this way which was why i asked for her. But she's too booked up for new patients. So when professionals are too busy, too booked up WHY would they be open to new patients? She should perhaps CHANGE the notes in her profile that shes NOT open to new patients. She was referred by IEHP, i am only 8 min. away from her office. Her consultations dont take more than 1 hour. Yet Lyndee is too busy to squeeze in an hour of her busy schedule to take a new patient TO HELP. Perhaps her empathic ability doesn't connect to new patients that need her. Very disappointment. Yelpers, I Do Not recommend this therapist. Lyndee is too booked. RESPONSE TO LYNDEE'S RESPONSE: You told your office what to tell me. Your office didn't say what i was told.
