(The case managers, Ben and Brian, were even able to accommodate my somewhat niche request of finding Filipino caregivers who spoke Tagalog, to put my grandmother at ease.) For most of this time, I lived across the country -- so a lot of the coordination was done over the phone, and Peaceful Hearts was always on top of things. She was on the Service three times over 2 1/half years and she got better. She improved so much that she actually discharged for a little while. However, eventually, we did restore her back to hospice service. The amazing thing about this group is they will call you every time they make a visit. I got weekly calls from the nurses, the chaplain, the social worker. They even used their own personal cell phones to hook me up with Video calls with my mom. My mom died at 90 years old, pain-free, comfortable, and never alone I've worked healthcare as a chaplain in several institutions. If I ever had the opportunity to work with this group I would. He has gone from having just a donut for breakfast to having scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, and juice--every day! The food choices are always amazing, and in one month, there has never been a day he has been disappointed with the options. Plus, he has met new friends he sits with at meals. It truly feels like a supportive and engaging environment rather than just a facility. My mother and I contacted Oasis about six months ago because she needed help with various…read moreactivities at home. The Oasis office staff interviewed us to find out our needs and to match caregiver personalities with my mother's. We immediately felt we could trust them. At first, there were two who weren't good matches, but within about two weeks, Oasis had set us up with three absolutely fantastic caregivers. They are kind, hard-working women, and enjoyable to be around, which is very important since they spend a lot of time with my mother. They help her with tasks around the house and are nearby to be sure she is safe as she goes about her activities. The day caregiver drives her to the grocery store, hair and nail salons, and various other appointments. They also help with baking, watch TV with her in the evening, and have interesting conversations. Overall, they have given her independence and have given the family peace of mind that someone is with her to look out for her health and safety.

After a week-long hospital stay, my husband was sent home and VA assigned AccentCare for both…read morephysical therapy and a home nurse. After a month, he has now been discharged from physical therapy. When he first came home, it was difficult for him to get up from his chair. He has just gone back to work. He is probably going to be discharged by the nurse this week. The physical therapist was always on time to appointments and always called ahead. He was professional but, friendly, which made us comfortable having him in our home. He had the same therapist every time which was both efficient and helpful. On the nursing side, he did not always have the same nurse. In all fairness, we did call a couple of times, for help, so they sent whomever was available. All of the nurses were professional and helpful. Honestly, we are going to miss them.

We were fortunate to find the Senior Oasis Assisted Living Facility in Corona when our sister…read moreneeded around the clock care. We spoke to the owner, Gabriela, an LVN, about specific physical issues that my sister was having. She assured us that they could provide a safe and comfortable environment for her and give her the care she needed. We noticed how lively and friendly the caregivers, Joe and Dina, were as they went about their duties cooking and cleaning and caring for the residents who were out in the dining area. There was background music playing and the facility seemed bright and welcoming. The aroma from the kitchen, where the evening meal was being prepared, was inviting. My sister quickly adapted to the structure and routine and said she was happy there. After falling and injuring herself numerous times at the previous assisted living facility, she fell only once at Senior Oasis. Joe and Dina got to know my sister quickly, and notified us when they saw something unusual in her behavior and demeanor. We took her to the hospital and she was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer. Gabriela opened a sister facility, Senior Oasis 2, shortly after and asked if we would like to send my sister there. It was a spacious and well appointed facility with an upscale home feel. Joe and Dina were transferring there, so our sister said she wanted to go too. She lived there for the remainder of her life - Gabriela, Joe and Dina and the other Senior Oasis caregivers adapted and adjusted to her worsening health and eased her into hospice care. We are very fortunate to have found Senior Oasis and Gabriela and her team. They provided the highest quality care and comfort for my sister during the last year of her life...and we are forever grateful. Thank You so much!!!
