And, I don't mean covered over with some other fragrance, I mean fresh! They keep this place spotless! My first contact was with Charlie. He handled the writing of the contract. Charlie was so calm handling our business. He was like talking to a good friend. Next, we met Michelle, their head nurse. She was like talking to a sister. Michelle did the initial assessment for my mother's level of care and she was spot on. Michelle was so genuinely caring. We met the director, Megan, she was like an Auntie. The caregivers like Rosie and Taye, absolute angels to my mother. Rosie in particular cared for my mother so well. She was the only person that my mother let bath her! The Med Tech Rita, VERY experienced and super friendly and caring and so many others treated us like just part of their big family, I really mean that! I knew, this was the place for my 94 year old mother to enjoy the final years of her life. Every employee that serves here has a heart for the residents. They behave like they want to be here. The receptionists at the front desk and the servers in the dinning area, everyone is a part of this close nit family of caregivers. If you are looking for a place where you can truly trust that your loved one will be cared for as you would in your home, Citrus Place has the caring people that will do just that! My name is Bruce and I am my mother's son.

Mom has even said on multiple occasions "You sure picked a nice place for me."

I dreaded encountering the senior‑living equivalent of an old‑school car dealership, and the anxiety was real. Then I met Denise R. She listened to my family's needs with genuine care and reached out to introduce herself and Magnolia Grand within 24 hours. That alone set her apart. I feel compelled to share our experience because of the tremendous impact she had on our peace of mind. Denise is an exceptional listener and a woman of action. She is compassionate, patient, and kind--qualities I needed more than I realized. She is also deeply knowledgeable, and every piece of information she provided was accurate and helpful. Her professionalism and passion for her work are unmistakable. During our visit, I noticed how residents reacted when they saw her in the hallway. One resident gently patted her shoulder with such warmth and respect that it stopped me in my tracks. It was clear she is valued by the people who live there. That moment meant a great deal to me as we considered entrusting my mother to her community's care. Denise and the team at Magnolia Grand made a frightening process feel manageable, even hopeful. For that, my family and I are truly grateful.

I am writing this review based on my personal experience with the Gardens of Riverside, where my…read moremother lived for the last four years of her life. Initially, everything seemed fine, and my mother was happy and active. However, things took a turn for the worse after Gracie Garcia took over as Director. I noticed that some caregivers seemed unqualified to care for Alzheimer's patients. In June 2024, I started noticing marks and bruises on my mother, but Gracie and Joanna refused to explain why, citing that I was not the power of attorney. Her power of attorney did not visit. My mother's cognitive state began to decline rapidly. I stopped receiving updates and photos of her activities, and during my weekly visits, I saw many residents, including my mother, left unattended in wheelchairs with no stimulation. In August, my mother was left standing unattended and fell, hitting her head and causing a brain bleed. Despite my persistence, the facility delayed sending her to the hospital for five hours. Gracie claimed it wasn't an emergency because she didn't see a bump on my mother's head, demonstrating her lack of qualifications. My mother's doctors' notes indicated that she needed follow-up care, but both the facility and her power of attorney failed to provide it. My mother passed away two months after her fall, and her death certificate listed a subdural hematoma as the cause of death. If my mother had received proper care, she might still be alive today, as she was not in the final stages of Alzheimer's disease. I am sharing this review to warn other families about the Gardens of Riverside and the leadership of Gracie Garcia. I've documented my observations of my mother through photographs from June to November. Although I was currently involved in a lawsuit with her power of attorney, her passing ultimately brought relief from my daily concerns about her well-being.

I had visited before and had placed him on a waiting list. Staff had always been very nice and called me immediately if they had any concern. If I had any issues, Gracie took care of them immediately, but those issues never involved the care my cousin was receiving. At one point they called and said there was an opening in a smaller building, and they wanted to move him there so he could have more eyes on him, since he was becoming unsteady on his feet. This did not increase his rent. It is a memory care facility, so keep in mind that residents like to go "shopping". So, make sure all items are marked permanently. I used a washable tag and snapped them on with a tool from Amazon. Do not take anything of value, like jewelry or anything you would regret going missing. Do not take more items than they really need. The staff can give you a good number of items they really need. You really have to be realistic when placing a loved one in any facility. It's not being cold hearted; it's a fact of life. My cousin had very thin skin and bruised easy. That happens as we age and when he had bruises on his arms, I could tell they were from the way he leaned into his wheelchair. Two people at a time also had to pick him up to move him into his wheelchair, a recliner, the shower chair and he gave no assistance at all. A six-foot-tall man. I never worried while he was there, and this was a great relief. The Gardens called me as soon as they saw a pink spot to let me know they were contacting his health care provider. I was also comforted to have a conversation with a visiting nurse, and he had stated that this was one of the best facilities in the area and the staff was doing a really good job on treating a bed sore. My cousin no longer walked, nor stood and I was able to view the log on how many times he was turned each day. My cousin had starting to refuse food and would throw it and spit it out. The staff kept me informed and worked with his healthcare provider to try anything they could to give him nourishment. My cousin passed away on Good Friday 2025 from complications due to Alzheimer's. The Gardens staff was very comforting, helpful and considerate. He started to transition three days earlier and was on hospice. I would especially like to thank Gracie, Lynn, Vickie, Amanda, Jojo, Claudia and the maintenance man for their help during my cousins stay and during his transition. There were many others for which I don't know their names. They all showed so much compassion and understanding that was truly heartfelt.

Our family could not be more grateful for the exceptional care, compassion, and attention he has received. Before making this important decision, our family conducted extensive research. We called more than a dozen assisted living and memory care facilities and personally toured six different communities within approximately 15 miles of Corona. We carefully evaluated facilities ranging from large corporate-operated communities to smaller residential care homes. After all of our research and visits, we chose Ohana Assisted Living--and we are absolutely happy with our decision. Finding the right home for a loved one with dementia is one of the most difficult choices a family can make. From the moment my father arrived, the staff at Ohana made him feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for. They treat him with dignity, patience, and kindness every day. The caregivers are attentive to his individual needs and have done an outstanding job managing the challenges associated with dementia while helping him maintain the highest possible quality of life. They communicate well with our family, keep us informed, and consistently demonstrate a level of professionalism and compassion that gives us tremendous peace of mind. What also sets Ohana apart is the owner and manager. In many facilities, management can feel removed from the day-to-day care of residents, but that has not been our experience at Ohana. The owner is every bit as caring, compassionate, and involved as the caregivers themselves. Her knowledge and expertise in dementia care are evident in everything from the way residents are cared for to the guidance and reassurance she provides to families. Knowing that someone with a strong dementia care background is overseeing the community gives us an additional level of confidence and comfort. Another thing we greatly appreciate is the effort Ohana makes to create a true sense of community and family. They celebrate residents' birthdays and major holidays throughout the year and often invite family members and friends to participate. These gatherings create meaningful moments for residents and their loved ones and help maintain important family connections. It is clear that Ohana understands that quality of life is about much more than just meeting physical needs--it is about creating joy, dignity, and a sense of belonging. What stands out most is that everyone at Ohana truly cares about the residents as people, not just patients. The environment feels warm, welcoming, and family-oriented. We have always felt that our father is treated as a member of their extended family rather than simply a resident. After nearly six months at Ohana, we remain extremely pleased with our choice and would make the same decision again without hesitation. I wholeheartedly recommend Ohana Excellence Assisted Living to any family seeking assisted living or memory care services for a loved one. Thank you to the entire Ohana team for the wonderful care and support you provide every day.
