Like Panera? Try this instead! Love this new restaurant! We used to enjoy going to Panera for salads and sandwiches, but we feel like the portions are getting smaller and just aren't as good anymore. I love this new restaurant! I've been four times since they opened and everything I've tried has been first rate. The salads are a great size for sharing and they are as fresh as it gets. You taste the fresh herbs and the dressings are homemade and excellent! I love the chipotle ranch and buttermilk ranch. I've tried the Santa Maria BBQ chicken salad and the Chipotle Chicken salad. Both were so great. I've also tried the southwestern type soup (maybe called Enchilada soup?) and the chicken and dumpling soup. Excellent and hearty! The house-made focaccia is also included with each dish and it is great as well. Super clean and even the bathroom was spotless. The staff has all been very friendly and helpful. Giving this 2 stars for a few reasons. The salad I had was great, but they don't have a lot of gluten free options. They said their rice bowl contained wheat which made no sense to me. Me and my mom both got salads with Tri Tip and the pieces were so big and flimsy we literally ate them with our hands because the plastic knives that were given didn't work. My mom asked a lady if she could cut the steak for her and she went on (very very rudely) about how it was too difficult to do that. After my mom came back sad that they couldn't do it I could literally see the girls bad mouthing her. Very unprofessional and a bummer cause the salad was good. --except for the paper shreds at the bottom when you cut your food. Then you end up eating pieces of paper instead of the salad you ordered. read more

I always like to try the new places that open in town and so stopped by here around Christmastime just before they closed. The people that work here are very friendly and helpful. I ordered a sandwich to go and was very happy with my choice. The decor is pleasant and the next time I will probably eat in. Like others stated, staff is unapproachable and look as if they want to be doing something else. Not a smile in the place. Food not as good as in the past. Very little chicken sandwiched between 2 thick pieces of bread. Our to-go order didn't come with any dressing on the salad, I gave mine to the chickens out back. My wife ate hers dry. I tried the soup of the day with was red pepper something or other; ate it with a fork as it was the consistency of oatmeal, definitely not in the soup range. Cashier didnt add one of the kids meals even though it appeared she acknowledged it upon ordering so my wife had to go back I inside to see if they just forgot it or didnt add it to the order initially. Turns out cashier forgot to add it, charged us the $5 bucks for it. Should've been free just for the trouble, but whatever. It was the dinner hours and there were only 4 cookies left. Of coarse the kind nobody wanted, but got some anyway. Used them for clay pigeons they were so hard. I microwaved them to try and soften then up. I guess once they make cookies in the morning, that's it. Anyway, only 2 other couples in the place. I knew this place as better in the past, but for $40 for 2 sandwiches and 2 kids meals, I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more

Found this place just by searching on Yelp. We decided to give it a try thinking there would be good options for vegetarians. There were only a few options for vegetarians but what we got was actually really good. We got the Californian sandwich and the grain bowl with no meat. Only complaint would be the horrible customer service we received. The staff Sam was terribly unfriendly, inpatient and just plain rude! I asked if we could sub the salad for a cup of chili and she said no so I ordered a cup of chili on the side. When our order came it did not include the chili so when I asked for it Sam came over and was once again incredibly rude by telling me that I didn't pay for the chili and then went on to blame me by saying that if I didn't catch her error when she read the order back to me then it wasn't her fault. I was appalled at the complete lack of customer service. She then turns to another staff and they start whispering amongst each other. Sam returns, very obviously annoyed, and slams down the order ticket and says in a snarky manner "it's fine we will take care of it". I told her I was willing to give back the salad that they gave me and she said no. When we went to refill our drinks Sam was restocking the area so she moved to the side so we could refill and she stood there impatiently with her arms crossed, I suppose that was another way of her immature behavior trying to indicate annoyance. Even though the food was good, we won't return due to the horrible customer service. There are too many other good options in the immediate area to have to tolerate poor customer service. read more

We came in on Saturday and each had the Urbane Cobb Salad, which was really good. Their chicken is very fresh and moist. The salad is really big and could even be shared. They have a simple menu, all very fresh looking. Excellent iced tea, yummy looking fresh baked cookies. Not sure I'd go for a sandwich ever as the focaccia bread served with the salad is what they use and it was really dry, almost hard and just blah. Salad though was great. read more

During the summer time, there was a seasonal sandwich that I loved and wish it was a regular. I've been here several times and today I just tried their pesto chicken sandwich. It was very bland, not much to it taste wise. It seems as if every time my family and I go into this location, there are a lot of people standing around and not really working. We have had to clean off tables ourselves on several occasions and tried to let that go, but after today (we were the third family inside), I don't think we will return. First of all, the tables were dirty once again. Second of all, the service was terrible! I had a simple request after ordering my food, if I could get a different item and was told no. They do not accommodate their guests and when you walk away, the family owned business will stand behind the counter and talk loud enough that you can hear their snarky attitudes. This is definitely a restaurant that I see as one that won't survive here if they don't change their attitude. I've been a long time resident of Temecula and have watched many many restaurants go under for this very reason. They may have a few good sandwiches or salads, but the customer service is one I'd never write home about. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for friendly or accommodating owners and staff members. read more
