My husband and I stopped here on our way to Solvang. I absolutely love this place and wish there was a location close to my work because I would love to come here frequently for a healthy and delicious lunch. My only "complaint" is that the "fresh" turkey they use is actually just sandwich meat, and I really wish they used whole turkey pieces in my salad instead of sandwich meat. Otherwise, the employees were extremely friendly, the place is clean and modern, and the food is delicious. Would definitely stop here again on my next drive North. read more

Yummy fresh food that comes out super fast. Sometimes the bread served with the salad is warm (and amazing), but sometimes it is cold. They don't have the most vegan options, but usually I just get the protein salad and remove the cheese. It comes with garbanzo beans and is good! read more

I went here for the first time. Always interesting in going to the one in Ventura but theres always a long line during lunch. The Oxnard location turned out to be a good spot. Yumm!! This place is incredible. I've only been twice and both times I've had my mind blown. The grilled portabello sandwich is to die for and the Californian is just as good. And they give a 10% discount for hospital employees!! Which was news to me, supplied by them! Who doesn't love saving money? I like Urbane Café. It's our go-to place at work, especially when we have to buy lunch for our auditors and inspectors. I love that I can place my order online and pay online, then just drive out and pick up my food. The only problem I experience sometimes (just as in any other place) they short me on the extras that I order. Otherwise, the service and prices are reasonable. The wait is sometimes a bit long if dining in, but it's not horrible. read more

If I could eat here every day, I would! Everything I've ordered at Urbane Cafe has been amazing. I look forward to the freshly baked bread with every order. Two things I would change: you can get a small specialty salad with the soup and salad combo (instead of house salad), and rotate soups. Initially I thought there was no way the portion size was going to be satisfying but it definitely was. The urbane salad was delicious. Tried both veg soup and corn chowder, both good. The Caprese Sandwich and Grilled Portobello Mushroom came with their own side salads. They were delicious. Juicy but not soggy bc they're made with soft focaccia bread and plentiful soft mozzarella cheese. I should have did this review closer to when I had it (couple weeks ago), but my strong impression was that everything was a little underseasoned and bland. Nice original sandwiches a little more upscale than a sub spot, but for me the flavor wasn't really there. This is only based on one sandwich and I'll readily admit I don't even remember which one it was (not a good sign), so I promise to return here and give them another chance to boost their rating. But for now, A-ok (tres estrellas) based on good ingredients, healthiness, and originality, but don't get four stars due to underseasoning and overall underperforming on promise the menu suggests. I kind of suspect my female companion would dig this place more than me and I'll leave it at that so I don't tread too deeply into generalizations. read more

This was the first Urbane Cafe I visited. I like sitting outside here even with the crazy traffic on Rose and Gonzalez. The staff is always friendly, the food is always fresh and the restaurant always clean. I always get the same thing, turkey club sub for chipotle mayo. The balsamic is my favorite!! read more

Having a multiplicity of GI symptoms and having just come from a very difficult medical procedure, I encountered an angel by the name of Megan, General Manager. She bent over backwards in very creative ways to ensure that not a single ingredient would upset my food allergies. The result was a delectable, nutritious work of art and love. Went here with an employee, they really wanted this I wasn't in the mood for a sandwich, but I was pleasantly surprised. The dressing on the salad was very good as well. I recommend the Turkey Club, with the "Regular" dressing. They make the bread there, it's not like Subway but like flatbreads almost pita like.
