I got my first Brazilian wax here and it was amazing! The front door is locked for security reasons and they let me in with a warm welcome. I got all checked in and was offered something to drink; they had trail mix and other snacks as well as water to have as you wait to get grabbed for your appointment! I picked Jasmine just due to availability that they had on short notice but I got so lucky and I am so happy to have picked her. She made me feel very comforted and talked to me the whole way through answering anything I may have been concerned or didn't know about. Urban Waxx suddenly appeared in downtown Eugene earlier this year and has since proved to be a much-needed addition to the skin-care scene in this community. At least, Urban Waxx has proved to be exactly what I need. As a woman that has been receiving professional eyebrow waxes for the past 8 years or so, I can confidently say that the Urban Waxx staff knows exactly what they are doing. My regular esthetician is the fabulous Tara. During my first appointment, Tara gave me advice on how to achieve my desired brow shape and instructed me on which areas to avoid plucking until the hair grew back in. She also taught me how to use a brow pencil, which I purchased at the end of my first appointment without hesitation. I now use the pencil every day and frequently receive compliments on my dramatic, yet natural-looking brows. After a couple of appointments, I decided to abandon eyebrow waxing in order to save money for my Brazilian budget. After my first-ever Brazilian wax in July, I now have them done on a monthly basis (usually with Tara) because I am absolutely HOOKED. For those of you who are curious about Brazilian waxing but feel nervous about it, take my word for it: JUST DO IT! I have a very low tolerance for pain (seriously, I still cry whenever I have shots done) and yes, Brazilian waxing hurts like the dickens. However, that pain is only fleeting, and it becomes easier to handle with every strip. What's even better news is that every following wax will prove to be less and less painful as the hair becomes thinner and more sparse. The curb appeal of Urban Waxx is initially what caught my attention and drew me into the salon. Inside, I feel like a million bucks, and I can snack on millions of Jelly Bellies while waiting to see my esthetician. I had my last ever appointment with Mekaela at this location and I'm sad to be leaving. I've always been so happy with the treatment I get here, alongside the service as well! Everyone is so nice and caring and they really go out of their way to make sure you feel welcomed and comfortable. I've been going here since they first opened up, and as I'm leaving Eugene, I just went in for my last appointment here. While I'm only going to Portland and there's a couple UW's up there as well, I'm going to miss the girls here more than anything. You make connections with people and they learn what you like and dislike. I don't have to communicate much for Mekaela to know what I want and I always walk away feeling a lot prettier than when I walked in. There's free tea and mimosas for those of you over 21. This is my second time going to Urban Waxx. It's super easy to get an appointment. When you arrive, you are offered coffee, tea, wine or my favorite - a mimosa! Everything is comfy and pristine. I've been waxing since I was 6 years old and this is the most amazing place I have ever been! Mekaela is my girl!!!! She is fantastic and amazing and omg I always leave happy! Today I went in for an eyebrow waxing with Jasper. She was very welcoming and kind and really took her time and put in a lot of effort into my brows. She made sure to ask me what I wanted my brows to look like, and was very precise with making my eyebrows match. I am very very impressed with her work. Simply put, Urban Waxx is the incarnation of everything I could ever hope for in a waxing studio. Always impeccably clean. Cute, modern, comfortable decor.
