The people that were there were not rinsing off in between the sauna & the other areas. Since it's a shared space we are all basically using everything after one another so it's not sanitary. There is no cleaning spray or product available to clean or simply rinse out the thermal tub. I can't confirm if the workers clean in between each use. YUCK! The idea is great but the structure of the space is not cohesive at all. I was expecting a bit more. After a few rounds in the same 4 areas just became redundant & boring. I ended up only staying 40 mins out of 2 hours allotted.

ROKS SPA in Denver earns a tepid three out of five stars, offering a mixed experience that…read moreultimately feels too inhibited and sterile to fully recommend. As someone accustomed to the seamless, premium layout of Woodside in Westwood, Kansas, the facility here feels incredibly disjointed. The flow of the space is simply not helpful for a relaxing routine. You find yourself showering in one spot, changing over there, and awkwardly walking around barefoot, only to discover a basic curtain to change behind and no swimsuit dryer in sight. To achieve a true, high-end European-style wellness experience, they desperately need to implement separate, dedicated facilities for men and women. That being said, the physical recovery elements themselves are spectacular. The actual cold plunge, bath tubs, and the wet and dry saunas were absolutely amazing and delivered exactly what you want from a thermal circuit. The staff experience was also a bit of a mixed bag. Adam at the front desk was perfectly friendly, but he certainly did not go out of his way to anticipate guests' wants or needs. On the flip side, the cleaning crew was awesome, consistent, and kept the sterile environment immaculately maintained. The bones of a great spa are here, but management really needs to step up their game, fix the awkward layout, and inject some actual luxury into the flow before it is worth a strong recommendation.

We went for their Creek to Club day, where we started with a cold plunge in Golden then came to their Denver location for the sauna/cold plunge pools. Love how they're trying to be so active in the community with various events. I do miss the wood-fired saunas they had in Boulder - they're electric now (?) but they still get pretty hot. There are four cold tubs with varying temperatures (I did a 46 degree one this AM). Felt great afterwards - looking forward to next time!

It saddens me to update a once 5 star review with a 1 star, however the cleanliness of this place…read morehas me concerned so here goes.... When I started going I researched and learned that women should soak in approximately 53 degree water and I loved R3 because they had 3 different temps and one was around that temp. As I continued to go, I noticed the temperatures were all going to colder options. When I asked the front desk she explained that it was due to "so many bodies being in the water and the bacteria was too hard to keep up on so we have to keep it colder". Um...yuck. After hearing that I couldn't go back. I don't think the water is changed very often which would certainly be an answer for the bacteria, no? I also saw a customer come out of the sauna and not get in the shower before getting into the tub, so I mentioned to her that it was a rule of the club that everyone shower first. She told me that she and many others do not bother with it. The front desk person heard our conversation but didn't come to assist or ensure showers were happening. She did thank me for policing the other customer, though I was not very effective. Soaker beware!

Atmosphere: It's important to know this isn't a boujie or luxurious spa where you undress and put on a robe. You keep your clothes on the entire time. It's a clean, no-frills environment. They set the tone by dimming the lights to keep things relaxing, and they even give you a water bottle at the end. Customer Service: Service was great and the staff is very helpful. Conversation is kept basic and straightforward so you can actually focus on relaxing. I went with my husband around 7:30 PM on a Friday as a walk-in, but I'd recommend checking their online availability first. They have this Denver location and one in Boulder as well! Parking: There is free street parking available right outside, so you don't have to worry about meters while you're trying to unwind. Overall Experience: I had Lily Du and she is incredible! They use a pressure scale of 1-7. I asked for a 6 thinking it wouldn't be that strong. I was wrong! She has a serious grip and a lot of pressure. I ended up dropping to a 5, which was absolutely perfect. They do massage your glutes and hips, which really helped loosen my lower back and hips. I left feeling completely relaxed and ready for bed. It's the perfect spot for a low-key date night or some me time.
