The session lasts 50 minutes, and we loved that we could just put our phones away & it turned into a space where we could just sit, breathe, and reset. Just seeing my before and after were shocking! They explained all the different colors and the reasoning behind it as well. My two friends and I visited the salt caves on a trip to Denver. I'd like to clarify what the experience involves. You will be welcomed by friendly and professional staff. They will invite you to take off your shoes and go into the salt cave. You will enter a dim room decorated with cotton batting on the ceiling and some lights to mimic stars. You'll be offered a lawn chair, one that is not particularly comfortable, and a blanket for your lap. They will request that you silence your phone, and they will turn up the New Age music and leave you for 45 minutes in a room of about 10 people and lots of salt. If you can nap, it might be nice, but the lawn chairs are not very comfortable. The detoxing food baths involve about 20 minutes of soaking your feet in warm water. The water gets progressively dirty. The staff then gives a fumbling attempt to explain the dirty water. (We went into the experience realizing that it was not based in science, but a nice narrative and a little more pampering would have be pleasant.) We did have a good time because we found it all so funny. If the experience was half the price, I would have been fine with it. But paying $100 for all of the above felt like a scam. read more

I've also had three different masseuses, which always makes me leery because I like to stick with someone who knows me, BUT each one were great at targeting what I needed and doing the exact pressure I requested. Let me start off by saying 5 Star Salt Caves spa offers the most amazing massage service. I felt deeply relaxed afterward with a quiet mind. I got a full body massage from Nina who worked her magic hands. She knew all the areas of tension and worked on my back, neck, shoulders arms and legs. Nina has good energy and her massage techniques are superior. I worked out a few days ago and she massaged all my aches and pains (and the holiday stress too) out of my body. I usually booked in the afternoon for couple massage, but tonight I thought I'd try an evening massage and it was so magical. My husband and I were in Denver for the weekend and decided to try the foot bath and salt cave. The price felt fair for the experience. It wasn't high-tech or overly scientific, but it was relaxing and enjoyable -- exactly what we were looking for. The staff was friendly, and the spaces were clean and well-maintained. My only suggestions would be to add more restrooms, as there always seemed to be a line. The hallway felt a bit cramped with people waiting for restrooms, putting shoes on or off, and lining up for the salt cave. Also, I wasn't a fan of the metal drinking cups. Salt Cave Vibes I spent my birthday at the 5 Star Salt Caves for a relaxing couples massage and salt cave experience. I loved the vibe of this place, from the sign outside to the waiting room it was so neat to see all the Himalayan Salt offerings they had, from the salt lamps, bath salts, mini-massagers, and more. We started our experience with a couples massage. The room was pretty big and it was a nice space for two. My therapist asked about my level of pressure for the massage and we got started. Overall my experience was a nice one, I received a full body massage, with some pressure points in my sides and my arm pits that hurt a bit, but it was really nice and relaxing. I felt bad for my partner as his massage wasn't as good. His Therapist was having an asthma attack (which I totally understand having asthma myself), but it did make him a bit uncomfortable as she was coughing while massaging him. Perhaps she should have worn a mask to make the situation more comfortable for both parties. He also said she was a bit rough and focused mostly on his hip bones which became painful, and he didn't really receive a full body massage. We then moved on to the salt cave which was such a cool space to be in. The salt cave was a super chill space, with zero gravity chairs, and a blanket so you could drift off into a lovely meditative state while enjoying the benefits of the Himalayan rock salt. Great for respiratory health Salt is a natural anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antimicrobial Mini salt stones can be used for massage or natural deodorants I drifted off into sleep for a while, and when I woke I could feel a gentle buzz from being in the cave. ROCKS ROCKS ROCKS ROCKS ROCKS! Okay, sorry for repeating myself five times but it did ROCK. We booked the Day Romance Package which included the works: Infrared Sauna, Massage, Ionic Foot Bath and Salt Cave Session. It was relaxing, and fully worth doing each one. The Infrared Sauna was a 30 minute session. We were in our own private room, and it was delightfully warm. If you had to skip one treatment, I'd maybe skip this one. It's the least interesting out of the four treatments offered. The Massage was an 80 minute session. We upgraded! It was my husband's birthday and we'd each never had a massage longer than 50 minutes. WOW! I'd highly recommend doing the same. It was pure BLISS! Huge thank yous to Karen and Bobbi, they were absolutely phenomenal. We each agreed that it was the best massage we've had in years! The Ionic Foot Bath was a 25 minute session, and it was pretty iconic! You will be absolutely shocked by the experience, and have to do it at least once. The Salt Cave Session was a 50 minute session, and our final treatment. At first, I was not sure of its healing properties. However, by the end, I became a believer! Since 2017, I've suffered from anxiety. It comes in waves, but there's always a bit of tight and unresolved feeling in my chest. After the session, it felt like there had been some of that weight lifted off my soul. I felt lighter, more peaceful and more calm, which was really awesome for my nervous system to experience. I was really excited to try out the salt caves during my first visit to Denver! We did a 50 min session in the cave. I believe it was like $35 each. The woman who checked us in and everything was so sweet and was even able to recommend a couple of nearby Italian restaurants when we asked. The salt cave experience was SO relaxing. If I didn't fall asleep while in there, I was close enough. The chairs recline and they give you blankets. You may not think you need it at first but it's nice once you start dozing off into a nap or getting comfortable. I hope it's true about all the therapeutic benefits from us laying in there. Bring your socks. I don't think attire really mattered so long as your comfortable. One review I read mentioned it being humid but I didn't find it to humid. Walking out of the cave I felt incredibly relaxed, sort've like after a really good massage. As though I could go nap again. Five stars for 5 Star Salt Caves. Check it out for yourself. read more

What a disappointing experience. That was without a doubt the worst massage I have ever received. The masseuse was nice enough, but her nails were fully scratching me, and it felt like she was just raking her thumbs up and down my body over and over again. When she asked me how it felt I had to tell her it I was being scratched and it hurt (it's very uncomfortable to have to give negative feedback to a masseuse when you are laying naked on their table, but I was actually in pain). She then stopped the massage to file her nails, which was awful to listen to, as she told me how she's just been dealing with this terrible dry skin and she even brought her nail file into the room with her because she knows it's an issue. Then went back to the massage, asked how it felt and I had to tell her nope still being scratched. Then listened to her file her nails a bit longer. Then came back and at that point I just said yes it's a bit better. When she moved a few minutes later to the other side I had to tell her yep definitely getting scratched again. And listen to her file her nails for a 3rd time. The experience was a joke and I was so uncomfortable. I wanted to ask for another masseuse but at this point was just feeling so uncomfortable because she was nice. Ugh this was supposed to be a pleasant afternoon enjoying a massage with my mother while she visited before I give birth to my baby. The bed was also extremely uncomfortable and was not set up for a prenatal massage. I hobbled when I got off the table because of how low cushion the table was and it hurt my hips. Also she knew nothing about giving a prenatal massage. She asked me to lay on my back, at 35 weeks pregnant. I had to ask for pillows so that I could prop myself up and try to get comfortable but it was just overall really not good. When checking out the gentleman at the front desk asked me how our massages were and I told him Not good and briefly explained what happened. His response was - oh no that's not our usual experience here, I'm so sorry. and then proceeded to charge us the full amount. I definitely do not recommend coming here read more

The salt room is a large room with two rows of anti-gravity chairs lining each side of the room. Everything from the ambiance, lighting, music, chair, and blankets helps you to relax and enter into a meditative like head space. This was followed by the ionic foot bath which you sit in massage chairs while completing. The infrared sauna was a private room and the light color is customizable based on what your goals are. As soon as we walked in, we were barely settled in and being asked for payment. So be it, every business is different, we paid and we're still excited to start our day package. It was not the experience we expected, the foot bath seemed interesting until we googled it and found it was all pseudo science, but it allowed us to relax for a second but that was probably the last relaxing we did. The salt room that we heard so much about was very unique. I don't what I expected but it amounted to sitting in a room with quite a few other people for an hour in the dark. There was music a lot of the people were on their phones or talking. The worst we did was the sauna room, really uncomfortable experience for adults. It's a little tiny room with an even tinier box in the room that all of us were put in. No changing room, no time to change just one very pushy woman who didn't listen to a word we said she just smiled strangely and told us we were cutting into our own time. This place is amazing!!! We called to book an appointment only two days in advance and they were able to get us scheduled for a couples massage and a sauna treatment. We originally wanted to do a massage, sauna, foot bath AND salt caves, but they were already booked up for the additional services. When we were done and about to pay, they were somehow able to squeeze us in for a foot bath also. They are so accommodating and do whatever they can to make sure you have the best experience. The massage was great. We both had massage therapists who listened to our needs and provided our preferred amount of pressure. The only complaint I had is that the massage room is right next to the street, which means you can sometimes hear cars and people outside. This can be a little distracting during a massage, but wasn't enough to make me upset. The infrared sauna was so relaxing. It was my first time doing an infrared sauna vs. a traditional sauna and I must say I like infrared better now! The heat doesn't ever get uncomfortable, but it will get you to SWEAT! The foot bath detox was interesting. It supposedly uses negatively ionized water to draw "toxins" out of your body through your feet. This may not scientifically make sense, but it was cool. I got the romance package- 25 minute infrared sauna followed by 50 minute couples massage. The employees were all very gentle and friendly. The infrared sauna was alright. It was my first time in an infrared one. There's a tiny room with a small bench and then a tiny sauna inside of the room that fits two people. They provide towels and water. The couples massage was in a different tiny bldg in the back. We both opted for deep tissue and relaxation but we both got relaxation so it was relaxing but not what we were expecting. We peeked into the salt cave room- looks ok. I don't really like the concept that you're in there with a bunch of strangers. There was also a small room with three people getting pedicures. Overall okay experience. $100 per person for 75 minutes of service is a pretty good deal though. read more

What a great find - such a cool experience. My friends and I booked an hour session in the salt cave on Saturday. Only one in our party had been before and we definitely enjoyed our time. This is an incredibly serene experience. There is no talking and no technology... only serenity. You enter the cave without shoes, wearing socks only. You're encouraged to bring your handbag for peace of mind. Inside there are anti-gravity chairs with baskets for your things as well as earplugs and throat lozenges, should you want or need these amenities. At some point I feel asleep but not to worry as the host let us know when our 50 minutes had passed. There is soothing music playing - it reminded me of ocean waves or maybe intergalactic sounds. There are two areas on the ceiling that glisten like stars and as the lights are dimmed, you feel enveloped in an other worldly experience. Be sure to let them know of this is your first time as you'll be given a $10 discount (from the regular price of $35 for the hour). They also offer an assortment of bath and body products, Himalayan salt that you can purchase by the pound as well as other spa services that I'll need to try in future visits. The salt "cave" is very comforting. Moderate temperature, calming music and peaceful energy surround the client, promoting mindful meditation and relaxation. The "cave" seats 8 at a time. If you forget your white booties, 5 Star will provide a pair for you as it is important all clients wear white socks for proper preservation. Kick back in a lounge chair and a therapist wraps you in a nice blanket and provides a brief explanation of what to expect and the benefits of halotherapy. I was out like a light in 2 seconds. I did a Groupon but Yelpers also receive a 15% discount when checking in. Reservations required and can be done in person, on the phone or thru their webpage. I loved every experience, and I did most if not all of them! The ionic foot bath was interesting and fun! Although scientific research has thus far indicated these aren't effective in pulling unwanted materials from your body, they certainly agree there's no harm in it, and that foot soaks in general have been shown to be beneficial. I then walked barefoot with my freshly cleaned feet into the salt cave, which was fantastic and relaxing. The floor of the cave is lined with himalayan salt, as if it were sand, complete with zero-gravity lounge chairs. The walls are also lined with salt blocks, some backlit for a beautiful effect. The walls and ceiling are designed to look like the inside of a cave, complete with a ceiling that appears to be a glimpse into a starry night, ala fiber optic lights. The spa very thoughtfully provides bags of cough drops and earplugs to ensure a quiet, tranquil experience even if your cavemates drift off into a snoring slumber (they will)! Next, I enjoyed a relaxing 50-minute massage. My therapist, Alecia, was conscientious about avoiding my knee due to a surgery I reported. Her touch was a little too light for my preference for a medium pressure. I'm sure she would've increased that had I requested it, but I wasn't bothered enough by it to mention it. Finally, I spent 25 minutes in the infrared sauna. If you're new to these, they allow you to get the same cleansing sweat benefits of a normal sauna but at a lower temperature than traditional saunas, thus allowing you to stay in them longer. Although an educational flyer on the small table in the room was mentioned, I didn't realize that you could change the light and thus the targeted benefits until after my time was up! Regardless of that missed opportunity, it was very pleasant. There was a misunderstanding with their tipping policy and I was contacted very quickly by an executive at 5 Star to resolve. I've been to the salt cave here probably 25 times. Every time I have gone it's been a wonderful experience and the owners are so nice. In the salt cave, white socks are required and the floor of the cave is like a beach of Himalayan salt crystals. The walls are made to look like actual cave with relaxing dim lighting and twinkle star lights on the ceiling. In the reclining chairs with a blanket, it would be so easy to fall asleep or just relax and focus on breath. This business also has a small retail selection related to Himalayan salt and other wellness spa offerings. I have only tried the ionic foot bath on two occasions but found it to be a great experience as well. I highly recommend the small business and it is by far the best atmosphere and aesthetic for a salt cave that I've been to. read more
