After reading some of the reviews here, I set my expectations low for my birthday spa day. However, I was pleasantly surprised with an amazing experience! The spa is perhaps a bit small, but I was there on a Saturday and it wasn't crowded. I was able to enjoy both relaxation rooms (including the amenities like snacks and spa water), the whirlpool, and the fabulous steam room. I really enjoyed the steam room and was impressed with how quickly the space filled with steam when you pressed the wall button to go to "high." The bowl of iced down eucalyptus towels outside the door was a nice touch and felt delightful. I had three services: a full body scrub and 50-minute deep tissue massage with Melissa, followed by a 50-minute facial with Lauren. All were excellent. The treatment rooms were also nice, relaxing environments. Spa staff made every effort to ensure I had a great experience and felt like a queen. They were kind, professional, and generous. If I have one minor complaint, which can't be held against the spa, it's that some people (like me and my husband, who both know very little about spas) would benefit from guidance on a good schedule of services when booking. During my massage, I learned the best approach would be to enjoy the steam room and whirlpool after, then fully shower before my facial. Had a wonderful first experience at the ritz carlton spa in denver. Althena was very welcoming and provided my sister and I with larger robes (L/XL) to ensure we were comfortable because the standard robes are more M/L. The space is small and the hot tub is small but overall was an enjoyable experience. My esthetician Lauren was very friendly and calming and my sisters esthetician (Belle?) was very friendly. She made her feel very pampered by acknowledging and celebrating her upcoming wedding which I was very thankful for. I only wish the steam room worked better and that we can pick our own music for the service (JW Marriott did this at a spa). Would return though based on great customer service. read more

I was hesitant to come due to some of the reviews on here, but I know that the Ritz typically does a spa very well, so I decided to ignore them and I'm so glad I did. I had an 80 min prenatal massage and 80 min facial. Both were exceptional. I couldn't enjoy the hot tub/steam room due to the pregnancy, but it looked lovely and very popular. The space itself was well-taken care of with plenty of amenities (even complimentary alcoholic beverages upon arrival for those of you not pregnant). A lot of the reviews were about the state of the treatment rooms. I don't know about you guys, but my eyes are closed during massages and facials, so I don't get the excessive criticism. I decided to pay more attention than I normally would and everything looked well kept and very clean. If you're thinking about coming, don't let the other reviews sway you. My friend surprised me for a mom's night out complete with a spa day featuring a massage and custom facial. The services were amazing and the ambiance was so relaxing, but there are a few things that could be improved upon. First, towels and robes were not size inclusive. I am not unusually large, but the robe barely fit and trying to find a towel to wrap around my body was next to impossible. I was able to relax during my services but during my lounge time I was constantly trying to make sure I was covered. I had an absolutely perfect experience here. My boyfriend took me as a birthday gift to the Ritz Carlton spa and I spent the entire time feeling like royalty. From the moment they greet you, to the tour of the lounge, to the spa treatment itself, the whole thing was magical. I was so impressed with the ladies locker room and it's amenities. The second I arrived I started wishing I had brought some hair tools (brush, gel) but I immediately saw this lounge was so well appointed that they had everything I needed and more! This included shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, shave gel and razors, cotton balls, hair ties, hair straighteners and curling irons, blown dryers and diffusers, gel, hair spray, spray deodorant...the list goes on and on! We intentionally arrived early so we could take advantage of the amenities, and I'm so glad we did. I loved hanging out in the waiting lounge thanks for the tea and snacks, as well as a series of current magazines. My treatment itself (an 80 minute deep relaxation massage) was incredible. I could hardly hold myself up when I was done! My massage therapist greeted me with a much-needed cup of water when I left the room, and I promptly chugged the water bottle in my assigned locker. Overall, it was an awesome experience. I don't often do things like this so it felt like a real treat! On a recent visit, I knew I wanted a massage but didn't know where I could get one with a same day appointment. A quick Yelp search reminded me of a Ritz-Carlton being nearby. I called and was pleasantly assisted with an appointment later that day (my tired muscles did an entire shimmy lol). Rule of thumb, to get here...just go through lobby to the elevators and take it to floor 'SP', can't miss it once you're off the elevator. The receptionist walked me back to the spa area and explained how to utilize the lockers and the available amenities. Due to Covid, I wasn't able to use the whirlpool but the steam room and showers were available for use... and let me tell you... kudos to housekeeping because it was CLEAN and lovely! After a short time, my masseuse (I believe his name was Trevor) called me back from the wait room and I was floating on cloud 9 from the time I walked through that door. My husband gifted me a lovely day at the spa. I've visited this spa several times in the past 10 years and always enjoyed it. This time was pretty disappointing. I agree with the other reviews that the spa is in desperate need of a face lift. My massage was terrific but my facial felt rushed and it was in a make-shift treatment room in a worn down looking hotel room in an upper floorThe staff explained this temporary situation was due to a flood in the spa. When I was dressing after my treatments, a massive cockroach ran across my feet while in the bathroom. I held back my scream and quickly exited the stall. I quietly shared that there was a cockroach in the stall with a staff member so not as to embarrass them and freak out the 6 other guests within my vicinity. She nodded and said ok. She then went into the stall to quietly take care of the critter. I quickly dressed and ran out of the locker room area. That same staff member helped me at check out and offered no apologies or acknowledgment of how horrifying it is that there are cockroaches scurrying around a Ritz Carlton spa. We booked a spa day, just a friend and myself. We showed up early and were greeted at the front desk. The receptionist offered us a mimosa or glass of champagne and gave us a tour of the facility. The first thing you will notice is that it is very small. There are a couple of showers, a whirlpool, a eucalyptus steam room, two small relaxation lounges, a two stall bathroom and the locker area. Still, a lovely decor and as long as too many people weren't scheduled for services, it would be fine. However, the next thing we noticed is that it was chilly. The whirlpool was only luke warm. The steam room didn't have very much steam because it wasn't hot enough. No mimosas materialized, so clad in my lovely soft robe, I went to the front desk and was told we couldn't have one until after our first service, because the liquor was locked up. My friend was taken back for her massage and I for my facial. The treatment rooms were freezing! The employees were trying to offset the temperature by applying hot towels to my chest and feet, but the esthetician's hands were like ice cubes. She really dug In on the extractions and she did customize the facial and add an eye treatment that I asked for. When I was done, I was escorted back to the ladies locker room. By now there was another group of three and soon, a group of six showed up. My friend went for a pedicure and I went for my massage. Again, the room was freezing. The masseuse did have a small space heater, but admitted they had been having problems with the temperature for at least a week. Last week, it was almost 85* in the spa, today it was about 62*, inside. It was actually warmer outside. The 50-minute full body massage felt rushed, but it was very well done. When I got out this time, I jumped into the lukewarm whirlpool and waited for my friend. She was ready for lunch, but I hit the steam room. Everyone was complaining. The two relaxation lounges were so full that women were sitting on the floor. My friend and I changed into our street clothes and ordered lunch from the spa menu, which came down from Elway's lounge. People had exited by now, so we time and space to dine in the front relaxation room. My avocado and tuna salad was divine! I had another glass of champagne and a cup of the red pepper soup. My friend went for the chicken sandwich with French fries, and I think they were the best fries I ever tasted! When we were done eating, we went to check out, and that process took at least 30 minutes because the party of six were checking out and complaining over the cold temperatures. The spa comped is a pedicure and my facial upgrade and gave us vouchers for 20% off of our next visit. So, it wasn't an exemplary day at the Ritz-Carlton. This is really a spa for small, intimate services, not large parties. They just don't have the space. If I want medium pressure it's an additional 50$. So I opt for hot stone thinking it'll help some of the knots near my shoulder blades( additional $) My massage consisted of her rubbing oil on my skin, sticking 2 hot stones on my lower back for 3 seconds and had me flip over only to squeeze my limbs with blankets on top and say massage over. My husband and I booked the Couples Spa Escape. It was an absolutely amazing experience. The salt scrub and massage left us feeling super relaxed. The only upsetting part is the "full access to all facilities after services." While you do have access to all the facilities, it's only for thirty minutes. That includes showering and getting yourself dressed. For that reason, we only had a few minutes to enjoy the hot tub. To go from completely relaxed, to feeling rushed to get out of there, it puts a damper in the whole experience. read more

My only complaint is that the steam room in the women's lounge was out of order. In the past when I have been to other upscale spas and this has occurred - I was notified ahead of time and comped something due to the inconvenience. If I wanted a plain old massage I could have gone anywhere. The benefit of having a treatment at a nice spa is the steam (& hot tub). Just had an amazing experience with my first Vichy Massage with Mel, the tall awesome hottie with a Michigan heart of gold. It's my birthday, and it really felt like it. Never heard of Vichy before and glad I tried it. Probably better with a deep tissue first if you can afford to do both, but I was already relaxed. So fun, so relaxing, and interesting. I was very happy with my experience at this spa. I had Diedra for my massage and she did an excellent job- don't be fooled by her small frame, she has strength! She wasn't pushy with trying to enhance my service and was very thorough with explaining my service and asking about concerns. Choosing an oil was a plus- most spas charge extra for this. I was very pleased with the cost as I used Spafinder gift cards to pay for my discounted service (Yay for Martini Mondays!). They have specials during the week so be sure to check before you book. Speaking of booking; the receptionist was very professional and helpful. Both the one on the phone and the spa attendants. Everyone working here was very warm and friendly. The spa was clean but a little small for my liking. For the cost you'd expect a sauna and another shower and bathroom stall. And speaking of bathroom stalls, they're not very private. Also, the whirlpool is a little funky- not ADA compliant I'm sure of that. I'm a decently in shape 29 year old woman that struggled getting in and out of it. I wonder how many have fallen trying to step in and out of it? One recommendation: water in the other relaxation lounge.These aren't make or break but just a heads up for those that are really picky with their spas. The spa check in was lovely, they asked what we would like to drink, wine, Prosecco, etc. We got a nice tour of the spa area. The relaxation rooms were not clean, used cups, wine glasses and snack containers on all of the tables. Could they not pick up after guests as there was not a clearly marked placed to put used glasses?The massage was the best I've ever had, the facial was ok, the esthetician didn't comment on my skin or make any comments actually. She spent a lot of time massaging my shoulders and neck and less time on my skin. For the prices they charge there should be no slip ups in service, you should always want to come back! Came in here on a groupon. The facial was wonderful but the massage was a little disappointing because the touch was so light it didn't help my muscles at all. When I asked the masseuse for more pressure she explained that there was an up charge (I think $15-20) if I wanted a medium pressure or more deep pressure massage, which seems pretty ridiculous to me - particularly for a top dollar spa. Now I understand that a deep tissue massage might merit an additional fee because it's harder/more strenuous to perform in theory but this was like back scratch level massage and I don't think I should have had to pay more for a regular pressure massage. read more

I booked the deep tissue massage and it was one of the best I've ever had! The massage therapist listened to requests and applied just the right level of pressure to pain points. I was nervous about the review about the locker room being messy but the women's locker room was kept really clean and neat and smelled great. The front desk woman was incredibly friendly, which made a huge difference because they can often be stuffy or even snobby. The treatment I had was called the 'Herbal Peaks Poultice' 80min experience... it was amazing! My therapist, who I highly recommend, was Anya. She addressed my areas of concern: left shoulder and right hip. As an avid CrossFitter, she was able to isolate the sore areas and loosen them up. I was completely relaxed and felt improved mobility in those areas, and continue to feel great relief. I wish I could visit her regularly but I'll have to wait until our next trip! So my wife and I came to Denver for our 3rd anniversary trip and I surprised her with the "Couples Spa Escape" here on 10/24, it was a Thursday. I'll just say the whole experience was really nice and we really enjoyed ourselves. I wanted to write a review to give some insight into the whole experience for others who are potentially looking into this since their website doesn't have much about this specific spa experience. So the couples spa escape is mostly your typical couples spa experience, plus one unique addition I haven't seen anywhere else thus far. It entails a 50 minute massage and 25 minute body scrub, which are two treatments basically continued seamlessly together. The massage is pretty much what you'd expect. The body scrub was something we had never done and it turned out to be very nice and enjoyable. After both of those, there is a shower right in the room with some 12 wall jets and 4 on the ceiling that they turn on for you and give you plenty of time to enjoy. This was a very nice part of the experience we had no idea was included. Now the unique part of the experience being that the massage and scrub end after they close, so you have some time to enjoy the steam room, hot tub, relaxation area, etc. together with no one else, in either the men's or women's side. They also have 2 glasses of champagne waiting for you afterward. The only downside to this is that you only have 30 minutes, and you've already showered off the body scrub and you feel clean and your skin feels great, so you don't really want to sweat like crazy in the steam room or hot tub. This is where we got lucky. We showed up for the 6:45pm appointment at 5:15 to enjoy the facilities separately on our respective gendered sides beforehand. Although since it was a Thursday, there were no other appointments that day so we had the entire spa to ourselves from 5:15pm until we left at 8:50. So, they allowed us both to go into the women's side and enjoy it together until our appointment. That really made the whole experience next level, but keep in mind this was some luck and is no guarantee by any means. But, if you book on a non busy day and get lucky, it will make the experience that much better as you'll have plenty of time to enjoy everything and you can just chill out after your massage. I did a spa night at the Ritz and had a fabulous experience. The thoughtful, kind, and genuine service set this apart from my last spa experience at the Four Seasons Denver spa. Everyone here just made me feel very welcome and comfortable. They just felt nice, and it wasn't that fake "I'm getting paid to be nice." The spa is exceptional. It feels so luxurious and has such a relaxing ambience. The treatment rooms are very large and have a flatscreen TV with beautiful relaxing nature images. There are two relaxation lounges, which are stock with different teas, cucumber water, and light snacks (nuts, dried fruit). There is a fantastic steam room with a eucalyptus spray along with a jacuzzi with chilled towels soaked in essential oils. There are large showers that are totally stocked with everything you need. My facial with Ashlee was so relaxing. She was a very knowledgeable aesthetician and was able to customize my facial based on what I was looking for. The Eminence products used were so great--you could feel them working, and they smelled so nice, too! When I went to check out, the staff made sure that I was pleased with my service and were just so sweet. Ashlee even left me a few samples of products to try. I had a massage and facial. The massage was ok, the facial was great. The hotel gym is right next door though and the whole time I could hear weights dropping. It was not so relaxing and poor design by the hotel. Pricing is what you expect from a Ritz spa. I would not return. read more

Definitely do not recommend. I am a busy new mom that hardly gets any alone or me time so My husband had purchased a massage for me at the ritz for a evening of relaxation. Well let's just say it was the complete opposite. The massage I got was ok but a tad bit strange compared to other massages I've had. My massage started at 5:00 got done about 6:10 so In my head I have about around 2 hours to relax and enjoy the amenities whirlpool steam room relaxation lounges. WRONG! I went into steam room there were dirty towels everywhere but I have spa to myself so I tried to overlook it so I get out real quick to ask Michelle for eucalyptus for steam room she said they were out then she says oh by the way the spa is closing in 15 minutes at 6:45. I explained to her the gentleman I spoke with about amenities said the spa is open til 8pm Monday through Friday. Her response is well we're not busy tonight and you are the only appointment so I'm closing at 6:45. The website also says they are open to 8pm. So now here I am leaving the spa with my hair soaking wet waiting for my valet in freezing cold weather because Michelle decided to all of a sudden close early with no prior warning especially during my check in. Not happy and don't waste your money it is definitely not worth it. Not once was I offered a drink or asked how I was ding if I needed anything, horrible customer service! read more

MUST visit! The head masseuse there is amazing. Not only does he make you feel comfortable, he really listens to your needs. Obviously the Ritz' facilities are top notch complete with robes, changing rooms and whirlpool. Also, it must be said that the beds are heavenly!!
