I booked a lavender steam massage and sauna session at this place a couple months ago. Two weeks before my appointment, they called to tell me that my masseuse was not trained in the lavender steam massage, so they switched my massage to a hot stone with lavender lotion And then comped my sauna session. I was okay with this since the price was about $40-50 cheaper. The ambience of this place was very relaxing, inviting, and comfortable. I was early to my appointment, and they allowed me to spend more time in the sauna than what was nice. I will say, however, I have been to many infrared saunas, and I barely sweat this one so that was a little disappointing. Sara was my masseuse who did a fabulous job making me feel relaxed and listens to exactly what I wanted. I would highly recommend her as your masseuse. We had a great experience this past weekend with my hubby when we experienced Elixir's Romance Package. Basically it is a 60m massage + head/face massage + feet/hands hydrating treatment and a little gift to take home. I had Audra for my massage and she did an excellent job of giving deep pressure. The hands/feet treatment was a lotion/heat thing that made my fingers and toes silky smooth! Oh and the gift was so cute - a few bath oils, candle, tea and Barry White CD - perfect package for some at home romance! Over the package was a great way to relax with my hubby. On the negative side - there really isn't any cheap place to park. There are a few meters in front, but they are hard to come by. There are lots of surface lots nearby, but that will set you back $10-15. Plus if you are there on a busy weekend you might hear more noise than usual. I would suggest having them play the jazz or something melodic to drowned out any outside noise (we had the nature sounds and honestly that didn't drowned out a thing!). The moment they called our names, they already counted the minutes. Do to our busy schedule, we could not find a baby sitter so we brought our son at the time so when we got in the room, we had to find a place for him to sit and put our stuff down. Those minutes count also. So, a 45 mins massage turned out to be like 25-30 mins. When we walked out, they asked us if we want to come back, we said no. I never reviewed them. Over the years, they sent us messages, etc. But I just delete them and I never even thought of it. However, unlucky for them that they texted me today on a Holiday weekend with my sister in town (with unwanted solicitation). This brought back flash back how they treated us. I would have preferred she balance her time evenly and not have me make the decisions about how to utilize the time I was paying for. For what I paid for this massage, it was just not up to par. Went in for reflexology and was the absolute worst experience. She guided me to the room and left to "gather things needed". Came back 6 minutes later. It was 5:38. Keep in mind I'm paying for a 30 minute massage! She starts barely touching my foot.. about 5 minutes later decides to finally use oil. The whole time I felt like a child was playing around with my foot. I told her I'd like for her to go deeper which by that time she was moving to the next foot. That foot was slightly better but at times felt like she was just tapping around. My massage was over at 6:00 on the dot. So I lost 8 minutes on a 30 minute massage. I was on time for my appt! Also, she didn't wipe the oil from my feet or even offer a towel. Told the front desk about my experience, she phoned the manager which told her to give me a 25% discount. Honestly it was a waste of time and when I asked her to use more pressure she replied 'just let me know if this is too much'....LOL. I think the hiring process should maybe be reviewed and some more training is needed unless my experience is a fluke...I won't be coming back here. I love coming to this place! The ambiance is nice, the staff is great, and their flavored waters are excellent. The only reason I'm giving it 4 Stars, rather than 5, is because my massages are really hit or miss here. Sometime the masseuse is excellent, and other times (like the last time I was there) the masseuse wants to talk the whole time to me or the other masseuse in the room (it was a couple's massage), or the time before that the masseuse played weird, distracting music and then banged around the room a whole bunch. Duet massage is unique - 2 people work on you so it's a full body massage for the entire duration. Not recommended if you're particularly sore in one area because that slight pain could distract your mind from the relaxing indulgence of the other masseuse. Appreciate that they asked about pressure and checked in throughout the massage seeing if the pressure was still good enough. Not a spa venue (so no hot tub, sauna, etc.) but upon arrival they give you a warm neck pillow made of beads and some water. They have their own line of relaxation tools and massage balls etc. to do extra work at home. They offer a monthly membership which gives you discounted massages. My therapist especially would almost slap her hands down when starting a new movement and the scalp massage was the same motion over and over for 10 minutes. I was looking for a last minute massage and Elixir was the only place that was readily available! Upon arrival they great you with lemon water and a warm neck wrap. It was a nice touch because you could also have a cold head wrap if you were warm. Inside it was cozy and trendy, best part was the mix of essential oils they had in their diffuser. My masseuse was Megan. She was amazing and really impressed me. I'm more of a sensitive person but she still managed to get the knots out without pain. She recommended cupping which I became a huge fan of!! And when you upgrade to the 15 mins of cupping they give you a free cup at the end to take home. I have always been fond of Elixir until this weekend and I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN. My husband and I have done couples massages before and recommended Elixir to friends, as well as getting gift cards for family. So when our baby turned 9 months old we thought it was time to do some self-care. We thought of Elixir first. We scheduled a couples massage and FINALLY found a babysitter. We made our way downtown to be greeted with an incredibly rude greeter who told us our appointments were cancelled because I didn't call back their confirmation. Let me just preface this by saying that if you can handle 30 minutes of rubbing my feet and come out of it alive and with a pleasant attitude, then you belong in my Italian Catholic mother's book of saints and don't you forget it. Elixir does not fuck around, and that's all i gotta say. i had the half hour massage, and a half hour of reflexology, and I'm like a new woman. I have sideways hunchback from my glamorous life as an advertising art director (golf claps and champagne snorts here, please), and my lovely masseuse tore my back muscles a new asshole and didn't look back. Plus, the price was really reasonable. Lets put it this way: I work in Belmar, and have no shame about letting the lube-holster wielding meat-hooked ladies of Massage Envy lay their claws into me for forty bucks every once in a while. I hold no pride. But for about an equally reasonable price I can go to Elixir and walk out feeling healed and dignified. With a good attitude, even! Which is more than I've got on most dates. I found an amazing massage therapist at Elixir and bought a membership so that I could see him every month. Unfortunately he left Elixir apprx 4 months into my membership. I started trying out different therapists and can not find anyone else that is working for me! It's also hard to keep trying new people because it seems like they have a really high turn over rate. There have been 3 separate occasions that I have made an appointment with someone and then I arrive for my appointment and find out that they are no longer with the company and I have been placed with someone else I know nothing about their style/technique. The front desk staff are very friendly but don't seem to be very organized. Every time they try to call me they call my boyfriend instead (even though the only number on my account is my cell). They also often forget to call me when I am getting switched to a new therapist and I am in for a surprise when I arrive. It's a pretty stressful experience to go through when I'm taking time out of my busy schedule to try and relax! I don't think I'll be renewing my membership even though it is a great price. read more

Ahhhhhhhh so relaxing!!! I had a Lavender Steam Massage, Hot Lava Shell and a Scalp Massage, omg did it feel sooooo good! I'm a Spa junkie and this place has specialty massages, not no ordinary usuals. You must try the Steam Massages. They massage your entire body first with this soothing oil. Then place you in this steam tent, that mimics a sauna. I felt like I dropped pounds after my body was placed in the tent. Serious ;) In the tent your skin feels soooo moisturized and silky! The massages were great, and they offered aromatherapy as part of the couples massage. They were also very attentive and would check to see if the pressure was alright throughout the massage. The reason I am giving this place 3 stars instead of 4/5 is because in some other spas, you can go to a dressing room and shower before/after, as well as have the option to sit in the sauna or steam room for the same price as here. Also, during the massage, they did not give you a face massage as they usually do (from my experience) in other places. Despite that, I had a wonderful relaxing time here after a three day ski trip, and it was exactly what my muscles needed. I told them that my arm was particularly sore and she paid it a lot of attention. I left feeling balanced and energized. The front desk was very helpful and accommodating when booking our massages, and when we arrived we were greeted by a lovely staff and warm neckwraps. I've had several services here like the body wrap, most of the specialty massages and several facials. The therapists and the estheticians really know what they are doing. It's amazing what they find when they are doing your massage, like they can tell if you are tight somewhere and a lot of the MTs actually take the time to show you stretches that can help you with your problems. The facials are so relaxing! I loved them so much that I now have several Arcona products that I use at home. The whole place is just very nice and chill. The experience was pampering from the very beginning as the friendly staff placed a warm pillow around my neck while I filled out the first-timer paperwork. When the pain really gets to me I schedule an appointment at Elixr for the "Elixr Massage". I love the environment at Elixr. Everything is a pleasing sensory experience. The incredibly soft sheets on the massage tables, the smells, the lighting. I love the warm neck wrap while I wait and the pleasant people who work there. in my experience the masseuses are always very responsive to my needs and will change their pressure if I ask them to and concentrate on the areas I request. I have experienced the upsell, but have never had a hard time saying no... if I could afford a membership and regular visits I definitely would! read more

I have to say this is really one of the best massages I've ever had. The wife and I decided to celebrate Valentine's a couple days early since it was on a Monday this year. We got the Romance Couple's package, which includes a 60 minute couple's massage (you both get the massage in the couple's suite at the same time), a hydrating hand/feet wrap, and a head massage. We got there a few minutes early and checked in via Yelp. It gave us both a $15 coupon for a 60 minute massage, which we honestly didn't expect them to honor since we'd gotten a package. To our surprise they gave us both the $15 off, so it was a total of $30 off of everything, which was nice. Our masseur's came out right on time to get us, took us back to our room and explained everything and then left for us to disrobe. They quickly came back and then we got an almost 2 hours of bliss. It honestly felt like only an hour, as massages are wont to do, but it was amazing. This would be a 5 star review if not for one thing: it was loud. All their floors are hardwood and every time someone walked by in the hallway you could hear every tread like it was a Sumo wrestler. And from where I was lying (the wife didn't hear it), I could hear what sounded like a washer and dryer being loaded and unloaded and going off constantly. Sounded like they were washing rocks. I'll admin, I was hesitant, and felt bad if he dropped $ on a crap massage. I've been to a few places in Denver, and they're usually a 3 out of 10. Either the pressure wasn't enough - even if I asked for harder, or I felt rushed and didn't get the time I paid for. Going into this - I was like, you know, hubby gave a kick ass gift, I'll try to enjoy it the best I can, if it sucks, whatever. I get there 15 minutes early, as requested. The ladies that worked the front desk all seemed nice, in their matching green shirts. There's a 2 page form to fill out. It asks questions about music preference, allergies, what type of massage I wanted, any phobias. I kinda laughed and was a smart ass about it - I have a phobia of clowns and stupid people...I get a wrap around my neck, offered water/tea while I sit there and wait. Jessica M. comes out with a few of the other masseuses to direct their assigned massagee to their designated room. Mine was all the way in the back - lights are dimmed. By the time we're done our intros, she leaves me to disrobe - to my comfort level of course. My appt is at 230, I'm on the table at 2:28. Jessica comes back with warm towels on my back and on my feet. The process was amazing. I found myself drifting in and out of mini naps. She didn't force me to have lengthy convos, she'd ask me if the pressure was ok and how I was doing. I'm sure if i wanted to be chatty cathy, she'd totally be there to facilitate, but I was suffering from a rocking food coma and the massage was so intensely amazing, that I just wasn't coherent. When she flipped me over (it was rough, I was jelly and moving seemed too hard core) - she lifted the sheet and we did the procedure quickly. Why I'm mentioning this - most massage places, will have the masseuse leave and come back (which eats up like 5-7 minutes of your actually massage time). She "wakes me up" and tells me that's about all the time we have for today - so cute!! I think I said something nice, but seriously I was so high from my massage that I barely was able to get off the table and dress myself. I did get my full 90 minutes worth. It was a little after 4 when she left the room. I know there are reviews that people feel like it's a rip off, or they didn't get their time - I think it's mostly due to the massage therapist. Jessica M. (there are other Jessica's there), RULES!! She really puts in the effort - found knots that I didn't even know I had, and I felt like butter afterwards. Hard to do b/c I'm so high strung and stressed all the time, it's ridiculous to believe my body isn't tight. Well worth the $, well worth the time. Any dislikes - pushy sales at the end - to join membership, seriously, talk to me about it BEFORE. When I'm all relaxed after my massage, the only thing I want to think about it how relaxed I am, not debating on a package. I was also thinking that massage places should send their clients home with a candle or aromatherapy awesomeness - how fun would that be, to continue the relaxation awesomeness throughout the day. I found this place through SpaFinders, and one of the "specials" was a "free" aromatherapy add-on with any 60 minute or more massage which I mentioned at the time of booking my appointment. I had Lisa as my therapist and loved the work she did on my back. Great pressure and technique. Checking out, feeling so refreshed and relaxed I didn't notice I was charged for the aromatherapy. I left town, a bit annoyed but it wasn't enough to go back and complain. However, to Elixir's credit, when they asked from my feedback about my visit, I mentioned this oversight.
