The matcha was so so delicious, probably the best matcha i've had in the US (considering i'm from socal LOL)! I got the samidori with oat milk after referencing the chart on the menu which was super helpful! Really nice nutty aftertaste and stronggg rich matcha ! Originally i was gonna get less sweet but the woman at the bar told me it is already not sweet and i agree it's not necessary to adjust it! i also sampled some of the ice creams (black sesame, miso, and kinako) which were all super rich and delicious! The owner (I believe his name was Toru) was also super pleasant and we got to chat a lot about Hawai'i and matcha! super awesome experience all of the staff was so sweet :D I went back twice on my 4 day visit here and i will 100% come back!

I guess cause it was a little later after dinner time. I'm just happy we got parking so we could try Cha to Gelato Zen. The ice cream is probably the best I have ever tasted. The green tea is very creamy. There's no pieces of crystallized ice in it. I also tried the Kinako ice cream. It tasted so good. How good? I bought a pint of each to take home. Our server's name was Yuzu. She was very nice and friendly. She also told us she works next door at Aburiya Ibushi. That restaurant is on my list of places to try and eat at. If only parking were easier. There are so many good eateries on Kapahulu Ave.

This is for my catering experience with Tea at 1024…read more For Galentines, me and my girlfriends decided to take the experience to us. The ordering process was easy thanks to their amazing staff. Their guidance from online ordering to communication over the phone and text, they made our event successful and memorable. There was 5 of us , with a moderate appetite. So, We went with two orders of the "Catering - Sandwiches TO GO" and one order of the "Catering - Scones TO GO". Then our choice of their teas: 1oz Sakura Cherry Rose and 1oz of their Cookies and Cream, which is great with milk and sugar btw. 1oz =at least 12 pours of the tea. If you want 2oz =24 pours of tea. The sandwiches were also delicious, a cute tiny bite of flavor. Which to this day I wish I ordered more since I'm more of a savory girlie. You can choose the sandwiches from their catering or seasonal menu and it comes in 4 pieces. We ordered: Sandwich flavors 24 pieces 1 Sweet egg salad (4) 1 Smoked Salmon with Dill Creme (4) 1 Nutella & Strawberry (4) 1 roasted veggies & hummus (4) 1 Crab & Cheese (4) 1 Cucumber & Avocado (4) My personal Favorites were the Smoked Salmon with Dill Crème and Roasted veggies & Hummus. The scones only available flavors were vanilla bean & earl grey and it also comes with potted cream and jam packed in a to-go cup. If you decide to host a little tea party with your girlfriends, I highly recommend trying them out.

Unlike coffee shops, where food and drinks are purchased a la carte, tea service here is a set menu of tea, salad, sandwiches, scones and sweets. The menu can be modified for vegetarians, gluten free, etc. Of course, there's a wide selection of teas to choose from. My daughter's favorite is the sakura cherry rose. She is not a big eater, so the amount of food was more than enough for her. Normally, she can be a picky eater, but maybe the uniqueness and specialness of the place and occasion encouraged her to be open-minded to new things -- and she genuinely enjoyed everything she tried. Staff was especially welcoming and friendly. Located in Chinatown (Nuuanu street) so parking can be a hassle. If you're lucky, you might find street parking. Otherwise, there are a couple municipal parking lots nearby.

Once we were seated, we were given the menu and invited to select our tea. Since I wanted my friend to feel extra special, I chose the Celebratory Afternoon Tea Set, which included two glasses of champagne and a cake (forgot to take a pic of the cake). To be honest, we didn't think the afternoon tea would be filling and had planned to head to Orchids afterward for more food. We were definitely mistaken...the pastries filled us up more than expected! The highlight for me was the variety of pastries. Most afternoon teas I've had elsewhere focus heavily on sandwiches, but Halekulani offers a fun and unique selection of sweet treats that made the experience feel a little different. The main downside was the birds. They frequently flew into the dining area and tried to eat the food, which made it difficult to fully relax and enjoy the experience.

The scones were not dry and very tasty with the Devonshire cream and lemon curd. However, the sandwiches were not so great. Love the tea, though. The Lava Mocha is hands down my favorite mocha I've ever had. Rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. It was the reason I came back and waited! Mauna Kea Iced Coffee is my FAVORITE coffee of all time. I will be drooling over this coffee until I return. It has coffee, sea salt caramel, a scoop of ice cream, and black sea salt. Already it sounds delicious and it was. I finished my drink within 5 minutes. I didn't order any food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. The menu is extensive with plenty of options, making it a great place for brunch whether you're craving something sweet or savory. The café also has a small section selling Island Vintage merchandise, which is fun to browse while you're waiting. If you choose to sit outside, don't be surprised if a few birds decide to join you for breakfast and they're regulars too.. Overall, despite the longer wait for drinks, the quality of the coffee, inviting atmosphere, and tempting menu make this a spot I'd happily visit again.
