Not really an issue, but the ingredients were used pretty often between the dishes so they tasted a bit similar. We tried: - Spring Cold Brew - This Little Piggy - Sloppy Chicken Sandwich - Chili Crunch Chicken & Dumplings - Chili Crunch Cheese Fries The sandwich I think was the best, reminded me almost of a banh mi. The cold brew also was pretty good and would honestly come back just for the coffee.

Little Goat Diner NEW YEAR's EVE Balldrop countdown celebration for kids! --- I wish they also did…read morethis in San Diego. I couldn't find a restaurant that does a NYE Balldrop that allows kids, most places I called are 21+ so we ended up going here. It was a really cool experience for kids but my son was the biggest kid at the party, haha! Although it was a fun party, the place was tiny. The tables were close together. We were the very first to arrive. As soon as we walked in, everything was already set up. They have a special NEW YEAR's EVE menu. We ordered the mushroom melt burger, disco fries, miso braised beef, ginger bread not chocolate, and we also got the midnight magic sundae. I really enjoyed the disco fries, that was so good but I was a little disappointed with the miso braised beef. It was floating in too much soup with very little meat, and it wasn't seasoned well, for $25 I expected it to be better. The rest was delicious tho. The dinner comes with a free cider for the kids to toast and a $12 champagne for adults. It also comes with a free cookie/muffin. Each kid gets a paper crown to decorate and every guests gets to keep a Polaroid photo. The Balloon drop was at 7:30pm. All kids are called to come to the front where the balloons are so everyone gets to catch the balloons as soon they drop it. It was really fun! Our server was also very friendly, nice, and attentive. The atmosphere was great! One thing that I found weird was, I called them on the phone to inquire about their NYE party and the person who picked up my call said, they were already sold out but when I checked at open table I found their event still available. There was a $10 charge per person, so for two I paid $20 plus service fee and the cost was not deducted from the bill and I forgot to asked them either. So that was odd.

I have been driving past The Breakfast House for YEARS ignoring it like an idiot. Embarrassing…read morebehavior on my part because this place is actually elite. My friend and I hadn't seen each other in forever and wanted a diner vibe with alcohol because we're grown and tired. He suggested this spot. They don't take reservations so you check in, give your number, and wait for the "your table is ready" text like you're on standby for brunch court. We went on New Year's Day so obviously it was busy, but we waited maybe 15 minutes which felt suspiciously efficient for a holiday. Let's talk about the staff because every single person in there was insanely nice. Like too nice. Like is this a trap? The whole place feels chill, welcoming, and chaotic in the best way...like everyone actually likes working there. I ordered 6 mango mimosas because I lack self-respect and the Huevos Rancheros because that's my non-negotiable breakfast order. I fully interrogated the server to make sure it was legit Mexican-style and made him add salsa verde on top. It was incredible. No notes. I cleaned the plate. Bathrooms were clean. Restaurant was clean. My experience with every single staff member was excellent. Zero complaints, which is rare for me. Moral of the story: stop sleeping on this place like I did. I will absolutely be back, probably sooner than I should.

I've been ordering Breakfast House off of GrubHub for a while, but finally popped in last weekend…read morefor breakfast. It's like an ideal breakfast place with multiple locations around Chicago and multiple options on the menu. I also adore breakfast food, and it seems like a ton of others did too, as the restaurant was packed. Despite this, we were able to be seated right away. I started with a cappuccino with pistachio syrup, which was exactly what I needed to start my day, especially with the cold winter outside. From there, I ordered the ham & cheese omelet with breakfast potatoes and a pancake on the side (I genuinely can never pass up a pancake). The omelet was super cheesy and rich, the potatoes were seasoned well, and the pancake was like a good griddle-type pancake. Portions are MASSIVE, so you will leave full. :) Service was quick, and the bathroom was clean and smelled great, actually, which was an unexpected surprise. I'm excited to come back and eat out on the super big patio space in the summer!
