They have a wide array of items from donuts to muffins to brownies to ice cream. They also have a little shop were you can buy vegan based groceries like oil and other items. Always great to stumble across a new vegan business in Chicago! Logan Vegan makes pop-up appearances at events occasionally, so I was lucky to try their ice cream at a recent art fair. I was really impressed by the wide variety of options they offered from burgers to hot dogs, funnel cakes, and more. On this hot day outside though, the ube ice cream was calling out to me- it's always a treat to see this less widely offered flavor available. It was super creamy with a strong ube flavor, beautiful purple color, and the perfect sweetness. Hints of coconut cream complemented the flavor well. After hearing about it awhile ago, I was around it one morning and came in at breakfast. It has a kind of limited menu but plenty in the way of plant based options. The breakfast items are the best of these. Get a doughnut or a few. There's also a few sandwiches made to order. I got a Breakfast Sandwich because it was still in the morning of course. It's $7 which is the among the cheapest for a sandwich around here. This however is the size of an Egg McMuffin. Even so, it's also filling. This has Good Planet vegan cheddar, Impossible sausage, and Just Egg on an English muffin. Get here at breakfast, lunch, and any time it's open to get something plant based. The ice cream is creamy, tasty, and luscious. So that's the first reason to go there. They have a new wonderful purple ube flavor (but my old stand-by flavor is mint chip). If you do the sundae, the vanilla ice cream is delicious. I've also tried the brownies and cookies and they are melt-in-your-mouth wonderful. I went here the first week it opened. Since then, they have been adding menu items. My favorite is the chickpea salad and sandwich on sourdough bread. Everything has been good. More choices please! They also added comfortable furniture and plants. It's a welcoming atmosphere where people spend time and hang out. The owner and staff are good people and truly talk to patrons. There's no hipster vibe or snobby food vibe. Because of this, the customers often talk to each other. I find that to be a rare quality around Logan Square. Suggestion to Logan Vegan: It would be fantastic to have a range of soups in the winter. Then we could make a meal of hot soup and ice cream. This place is really cool to start. Walking in, I enjoyed the chill vibes, the design and layout was simple but nice, and I like how you can chill and read there too. I grabbed some snacks and 2 pints of ice cream. The Ube ice cream was good. I'm newly vegan, and I have to say getting good ice cream was a worry, but there's is homemade and has a really good texture too. I think it had a slight undertone of a taste I couldn't describe, but it's still an 8.5 out if 10 compared to regular Ube ice cream. I'm also SUPER picky about ice cream so that's really good. The vegan Oreo ice cream is a solid 9 to me. The guy who runs the shop was really friendly, easy to talk to, and it's great having mom and pop shops like this in the community. I was absolutely overjoyed to hear there was a fully vegan spot opening up near my workplace. My first visit in I got to meet John. He was so kind and patient. He talks about Logan Vegan in such an inspiring way, it made me want to continue to come back. At this point I've visited atleast 7x in the last 3 months. The ube ice cream is amaze-balls. Their breakfast sandwich is fire, don't forget to ask for the garlic spread (who wants a dry sando?) Their coffee is great with or without oat milk! I've also gotten their mushroom coffee to go and I literally have no complaints. I do half mushroom coffee and bustelo in the morning to give me that kick. All of their disposables are eco friendly (Insert crying emoji). I have told all my friends and family about this place, it needs to stick around!!!! The only criticism I would give is general cleanliness in the lounge area. The floor could use a good scrub and the furniture looks like maybe they let dogs that just came from the park hang out?
