Not sure why I haven't rated this store yet because it is by far one of my favorite places to shop in Charlotte. First of all, if you're not into resale, this is probably not the spot for you. But for guys who value their style at a good price, this is definitely the spot to stop by. I usually hit it twice a month and I sell and buy, but mostly by. Excellent value and variety. Well organized by sure and type, even a cute boutique and a designer area. They were busy for a Friday and staff was hopping to keep clothing picked up and put away. I enjoyed my first experience (both buying & selling) at Uptown Cheapskate! I came in with 2 bags of women's apparel (mix of dresses, tops, jeans, shoes, and a purse). After signing in on the screen and a staff member checking my ID, they took my bags and said it would be about 1.5 hours for them to go through them, and I'd get a text for when I could come by to get my payment and pick up the items they don't take. It was a Saturday afternoon, so I imagine it was a pretty busy time, but the longer wait time didn't bother me since it gave me plenty of time to browse around the store and try things on. The majority of items in the store are women's, but they do also have a men's section. Most items are priced under $30 or so, excluding the designer brands. When I went, they were also having a sale on their clearance items (mostly things that were out of season like sweaters), and I snagged some great finds for as low as $1! When they were done reviewing the items I was looking to sell, I got a text and checked back in at the desk. They took 3 of my items (2 dresses and 1 top), and offered either $12ish in cash or $16ish in store credit. I opted for the store credit since I was buying things anyway, so they added the credit to my account, and then I headed to the other register to scan the items I was purchasing and pay. The staff I interactive with were speedy, helpful, and friendly. $16 is much less than I paid for the 3 items - and there were other items I brought that I don't understand why they didn't take - but it's better than them just sitting in my closet not being worn! read more

Gave several name brand freshly washed items. Took nothing. Took way longer to look at clothes than they said as well.

I stopped in for a browse as maybe there's something in the designer jeans that might work for me. The store is full. Every rack is full, every wall is full, every endcap is full, every table is full. They have a LOT of clothing and accessories here. Most of the store is for women but there are a few racks of men's clothes. The stuff seems to tend towards the smaller and medium sizes. This is the best place ever! Purchased a brand new Guess Dress for 20!! I absolutely always find a great deal in here.

This place is insane and not in a good way. First off, the staff I talked with on 9/26 were nice but that was the only pleasant experience. First off, they have come up with insane new rules. They only buy between 10-1:30pm, but they then require that you have to pick up those items by 3pm or the sale will be void (they are open until 7/8pm most days) so it's a ridiculous ask. Secondly, they have a lot of items for sale that a mis labeled. I saw multiple workout items listed as lululemon that we're definitely not lululemon. Lastly..... THEY ARE OVER CHARGING ALL OF YOU! I looked through the store and saw "lululemon" items listed for about $34.99, and I can tell you all of those had to over 10 years old. They had a Shein item listed for $15.99, and I just so happen to have that exact item from shein that I purchased at full price for $11.55 directly from them. The last one are the pictures associated with this post. They had an IKEA mesh bag list for $8.99!!! It was placed in the clearance section when I found it, but since this is something I also already owned I knew it was way over priced. It is $5.99 brand new from IKEA. Just proving that there is no deals to be found here, I can guarantee you are over paying for someone else's clothes. I wouldn't sell or shop here read more

Lindsay in pineville was amazing I'm excited about all the new inventory I can't wait to visit again

Pros- This store is very nice and organized, has a wide selection of all kind of clothing and accessories. It's definitely giving upscale Goodwill. It even includes designers like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Valentino, MCM, Telfar etc. I bought one item from here that's from Topshop and was a very good deal, didn't find everything I needed though. Although no one greeted me when I walked in, the cashier was very sweet when I checked out. They have a security guard. Cons- I've heard this place is pretty terrible for sellers and over heard heated conversations between customers and staff which is my main reason for 3 stars. I went on a Monday morning around 11am and it was actually busy, and a whole line of people to the door were trying to sell their items. This store should at least put a hand sanitizer bottle at their register for customers once their done shopping. Their dressing rooms are really dusty, not sure how often they clean. I overheard a staff member (I believe it was a manager) tell the security guard that she's been sick and needed to go home - she wasn't wearing a face mask. read more

The staff here were INCREDIBLY rude! The second I step foot into the door I was looked up and down with disgust from one of the employees at front. I politely asked her if they accepted jewelry pieces, and the young lady said in response, you can't bring items to sell to us in plastic bags, they have to be reusable. That wasn't my question... Might I add, the Manager, "Luz" was a "C U Next Tuesday". She was incredibly dismissive towards me, and wasn't very customer-service like. Beware, not all Uptown Cheapstakes are run like this pathetic store was... the other and BETTER one is located in Huntersville, NC. Save yourselves a trip to this one. :D read more

I am so tired of management here. Doesn't accept clothes on Sundays, doesn't buy after 5pm any day so make sure you take off work! Oh and if you don't pick up your clothes by 5, they automatically give you store credit instead of cash. My clothes were dropped off at 2:30 and were not ready till 4:45, giving me 15 minutes to pick up my clothes. What sort of backward a$$ business is this?! read more

One star is one star too many. This customer service at this location leaves much to be desired. Employees displayed rudeness, a lack of enthusiasm, and an overall negative attitude. The buy process, typically swift at other locations, extended to an exasperating 4.5 hours, leading to inquiries met with snarky remarks and incoherent responses by several customers there to sell and left waiting with no update. Notably, the evaluation process seemed inconsistent as my neatly packed bins were questioned, while people who came across as their acquaintances (friendly chatter, haven't seen you in so long, etc) brought in disheveled janitorial trash bags overflowing without scrutiny. However, a positive note was struck by the pleasant security guard at the entrance, feel rather sad at he has to sit there with some of them all day. I'd fire everyone and start over. read more

I got some blue suede shoes for work that were $5 and my bambino found a sublime t for 12.99. Got signed up for their program doubt I'll ever get the 20% off thing but nice to know. If I could leave, no stars I would. Do not bring your clothes here because even though it says that they buy until 6 PM, typically they stop much sooner than that, for instance, today it was 1 PM. I drove 30 minutes to bring my items only to be turned down. this is the third time this has happened, I will not be coming here again.
