I usually love shopping at any Uptown Cheapskate location, but this is the WORST one I've ever been to. If you want to be rushed and pressured into checking out, then this is the store for you. The lady (who wears a face mask and I assume she's the manager) wouldn't let me walk around the store with the clothes I had just tried on. After I explained to her that I wanted to walk around more and hold onto the clothes I tried on, she grabbed my clothes from my arms and said "You can decide what you want when you check out" and then proceeded to place my clothes in a bin, behind the counter. I'm the kind of person who likes to think through purchases beforehand and take my time when I shop and compare other items to what I tried on. I feel uncomfortable standing at the register while going through the clothes I tried on and holding up the check out line. No other store I've ever been to just takes your clothes after trying them on and makes you go straight to check out. I would rather go pay full price somewhere else or shop at a Goodwill than shop here ever again with their terrible customer service. Uptown Cheapskate needs to fix their store management and customer service, or they will just keep losing customers. read more

I WAS a very consistent customer at this location. Their selection was great and it was my first place to go if I ever needed anything but I decided to never step foot in there again after my last experience. I think the manager (I'm not 100% sure if she's the manager or just works there but she's always there) is incredibly rude and has horrible customer service skills. One of the reasons I loved this specific uptown was because they always carried a good selection of activewear. This particular day I found a beautiful light pink lululemon body suit however when I went to try it on there was a massive (a bit bigger than the palm of my hand) liquid stain by the neck. It was a $30 bodysuit (which is understandable for resale lululemon in good condition). However, that particular bodysuit was stained, god knows with what and if that stain would come out. When I went to checkout I asked if they would be willing to discount it because of the stain and the girl went to go ask the "manager" (an old white woman with blonde hair and faded pink tips) who then looked at me saying that the stain could be washed out. However, there was absolutely no way of knowing what that stain actually was or if it would come out. I then asked her if I bought the bodysuit, brought it home, washed it, and the stain didn't come out if she would give me my money back to which she cut me off and snapped at me that I didn't have to buy it. I told her she was absolutely right and that I wouldn't because it was absolutely insane to ask for $30 for a stained resale lululemon body suit and to ask me to spend my hard earned paycheck on her word was asinine. Disgusting way to treat someone who shopped there so often. After that encounter I'd rather drive 45 minutes in traffic to the frisco location than ever see that sorry excuse for an employee ever again. Frisco Uptown Cheapskate is way better anyways I just never wanted to make the drive but, totally worth it now. Never going back, I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. read more

A great selection, but seriously had a terrible time shopping there because of how indecent the employees were. I felt uncomfortable asking any questions or even looking for help. There was just a terrible, heavy feeling in the air of that store. From the first question I asked an employee at the beginning of my shopping. To checking out and leaving, it was overall the most uncomfortable time I've had shopping anywhere. As a retail worker I can only imagine this is a product of bad leadership. This location is very friendly and they do have nice items! Its much cleaner than most locations too. They are much better to buy from than sell to though. I'm attempting to try out new styles, someone had recommended buffalo exchange. My girlfriend has had some luck shopping there but I was pretty disappointed with it. Went here for their week long clearance extravaganza and found 2 dresses I wanted to try on. When I proceeded to the fitting room I was told I was "not aloud" to try on clearance items.... Which made absolutely no sense to me what so ever..... So I put the 2 dresses back on the rack and walked out of the store. read more

I've been trying to find a place to sell clothes other than Buffalo Exchange (I've had a hard time accepting the difference between their cash and store credit difference) and chanced upon Uptown Cheapskate - Addison. When I tell you I will never be going anywhere else to sell clothes, I'm not lying! Very friendly staff, v clean and organised store and they do accept a wide range of different styles when you sell! I came here to sell my clothes and have never been so annoyed and disappointed in my life. I didn't bring that many clothes, yet, it took over 2 hours for them to go through them. On top of this, the employees talk and talk with each other instead of actually working. The only positive thing I have to say is that the employees are friendly. Called about their buy counter since I've have issues in the past about showing up when their counter was closed and was told their buy counter was open until 5pm. I came in 15 minutes later, and they told me the counter was closed. It's 4:03pm. If you have certain hours stick to them maybe?? I wasted time & gas to come here, only to be turned away.. even though I had called in advanced. What makes it worse, this is not the first time. This reoccurring issue is annoying to say the least. Take my advice & take your business elsewhere. This location sucks. read more

This place was snobby and the employees acted like they hate life before I was told they weren't going to look at anything I had. Apparently they keep tabs on ALL customers! They claimed that I was snippy, when in fact no one had told me, and they were the ones being snippy. I've tried giving this franchised one a try several times, and each time, they keep making up rules that no other UC has. I find it appalling that a woman owned and operated business feels entitled to call another hard working, intelligent woman snippy and aggressive. They literally made me wait 10 minutes before deciding to not look at anything. Oh and don't mention that you are Jewish, bc I did- they must be antisemitic!!!! read more
