NORTH PARK STORE IS A SCAM AND STEALS MONEY FROM YOU!!!!!!!! YES YOU HEARD ME CORRECTLY!!!
I had my first ever shopping experience with Zara (north park location) last Monday, December 9th and was so in love with the quality of the clothes and how cute everything was. Made my first purchase and was almost positive I was going to be shopping here from now on.
Well, they had me use the self checkout, which I have never experienced a self checkout like that before, the associate asked for my phone number to input and had me confirm my number was correct. It was.
The next day I went back in to return an item for a larger size, I was now at the front desk where the associate again asked for my number since I didn't have a physical receipt. She typed my number in and swore she couldn't find anything. I told her the items still have their tags on them as well as I have the CC I used to make the payment.. she told me they do not keep any of our information so I have to go online and recover my receipt that way.
Super annoying but okay whatever I can do that. Also mind you I did another purchase from them at this same visit, once again providing my phone number and ensuring everything was going to be scanned to my app for the receipt. I was assured it would be.
Fast forward to Saturday, December 14th. I was able to locate the receipt so I went back to the store that early afternoon to do the returns.
Once again when asked for my phone number they couldn't pull anything. Super odd considering that is supposedly the way they track their sales and receipts...
Well the associate was completely incompetent and rude, so I asked for a manager to come assist so I wouldn't be holding up the long line behind me.
Manager comes over, took them literally 15 minutes to figure out how to do returns and size exchanges but that's fine I wasn't in a rush. Well here is where it gets sketchy, when it came up on the screen that I was going to get a refund of $129.57, they asked me to tap or insert my card, I had my debit card in my hand but remembered I paid with my CC so I said "oh wait does it need to be the original payment method card?" And the manager said "no it doesn't matter". - RED FLAG #1
Then I could see on their computer screen it said -$129.57 but on the terminal where I had to tap my card it read $129.57. So I immediately brought it to the managers attention and asked if I was being charged $129.57 (for a transaction of nothing, I wasn't purchasing anything) or getting a refund, she once again assured me it was a refund not a charge. I asked if she was sure, she said yes.
So okay, who am I to question her further. I went about my day and didn't think anything of it.
This morning, December 16th, I logged into my bank account and noticed that in fact I WAS CHARGED $129.57!! I called my bank to immediately dispute it, thankfully the banks side showed that it is going to be placed back into my account tomorrow. I explained the situation to my banker and she said that since the original payment method was on my CC I'll need to go through my CC for the reimbursement and mentioned that I should go to the store and explain the situation for them as they did not refund me, they charged me and then refunded the false charge.
I went to the store, immediately told the associate at the counter that we were probably going to need a manager, she RUDELY told me I could walk over to the manager "over there", I looked at her and said "I don't work here and there are 30+ people over there, who is the manager"
Located the manager and went over to explain the situation. The manager tried to tell me that my bank account if in black means money was refunded, I said "no, if I have a deposit in my account it is green and there's a + side in front of it". She proceeded to argue me on it so I finally just opened my bank account right then and there and said "allow me to show you", then she took me over to the desk to pull my stuff, once again as expected she put my phone number in and nothing (shocker I know), I opened the app and she goes "look we refunded you", I said no, you guys did a fraudulent charge and are now releasing the fraudulent charge but you have not refunded the actual refund that was supposed to happen"
She proceeded to get incredibly rude, called another manager on the phone and told me I have to call customer service and wrote the number on a sticky note and handed it to me. Needless to say I stayed at the desk and called right there, where for over 25 minutes it was a constant "all representatives are on the other line but please continue to hold and someone will be with you shortly". No one ever answered the phone and they refuse to give me a refund.
So they stole $129.57 from me. read more
