Revolting. UPS had a package for me that required a signature, but I'm not home during delivery hours. I called the 800 number and waded through an interminable menu that didn't deal with my issue. I finally found a real person, at the "Access Point" nearest me. He promised he could send it to a UPS store in my neighborhood, but it didn't arrive. At that store, they had no information and no curiosity and no ability or willingness to help. Back to the 800 number. Same menu. Couldn't find an agent, this time, inexplicably. UPS apparently hires only idiots, or, at least, the people working for them have no interest in doing a good job. Robots, doing what is in front of them. I won't use this idiotic service again (though Federal Express is equally bad). This is--I speak from long experience--the typical incompetence one finds in a third world country. read more

This location hasn't changed in years and when I say years, I do mean years... the building is the same, the layout is the same... nothing changed!!! Okay, one thing did change, their front desk/pick-up/drop-off area's layout was changed... they now have some computers for you to do your own label printing, etc., but outside of that, the size of the room is the same. The place is really unwelcoming, in sense that, there's no character... it's like you are walking into a warehouse... oh wait, maybe its because it is a warehouse with a separate room to service customers!!! :) When I walked it, there were two guys sitting behind their computers, talking about some stuff... it seemed I walked in on their conversation... the guy that helped me was cool, got my stuff within few minutes, it did help though that I was the only customer there!!! WIth all the money they make, I wish they would upgrade the customer service area, make it more friendly, inviting and more 21st century!!! read more

I've been shipping packages out of this location for about seven years. It's basicly a warehouse that happens to have a customer service counter. Sort of like it was added as an after thought. It's very spartan without any aesthetic appeal to it. Usually I'm in and out in minutes with very few exceptions. The clerks have always been helpful and courteous. read more

You get what you get: the UPS Customer Center on Mansfield is not a customer service environment - it is not a UPS store or a "cool vibe." The building is old men working and not wanting to talk to people. They're surly, knowledgable and willing to help - but don't waste their time. The lines move quickly (although rare) and the only thing these men want to do is get you your package and get you out of the building. Don't walk in expecting to talk about the weather: walk in and expect to deal with your dad (who you try to avoid because you have a strained relationship but really knows about cars and you need your brakes fixed for free). read more

I had a fairly good experience with UPS. I went to the service center, because I couldn't be at home to sign for a package. I was the only customer in the lobby, which was also the case on the one other time I went here. Both trips were made late in the morning. Once I handed over my ID, I only had to wait a couple of minutes for the package. The person behind the counter was professional and friendly, and after I signed, I was on my way. I think the experience was comparable to the post office, except I didn't have to stand in line, it was a little more out of the way and the lobby wasn't as nice as the Ypsi post office. Considering that UPS isn't subsidized by my tax dollars, I'm okay with the way the lobby is decorated now. And impressed with the service. read more

Our old driver was a friendly chap who knew the secrets of our building's broken intercom, and always delivered to your apartment door. Our new driver is a lazy git who just dumps everything at the mailboxes, blocking the front door at least 50% of the time. 2/5 I want our old driver back. read more

As others have said, this is NOT a stylish, retail outlet location. But if you are shipping something the service is fast and efficient. The workers are extremely helpful, knowledgable, and go out of their way to help you if you need something. Not a retail location. If you want all the bells and whistles then go to one of the independently owned "franchises" that are more expensive around the area. However, the staff knows what they are doing and does it well. I have used this location over ten years. No complaints. Please ignore the negative feedback that has been posted. These people go out of their way to help. It is a UPS shipping warehouse location so it operates and looks like one. Again, if you want to get your hair and nails done next door, go to the mall. I had a package sent out on the 11th as PRIORITY, paid 25$ more. Package was sent out to the location on the 14th with the driver early am, wasn't delivered until almost 7pm. I feel it's ridiculous to cater to businesses first especially when paying more to have it shipped fast. Unhappy. read more

OK so I ordered a skateboard and it was being delivered by UPS, apparently I put in my address wrong so I had a delivered to a store nearby. My first call was with a woman telling me which location to pick it up at, and she had the biggest attitude. Terrible customer service, I couldn't hear her all that well and She was very flippant. She also told me to come pick the package up at eight and 830, I come to find out that they close at 6 PM. Maybe that's not what she said but her attitude made me not even want to be on the phone with her anymore. So I called back and asked if there's anyway that I could have it delivered to me again just that I change my address. Because it's a Friday and they are closed on Saturday and Sunday and I would really like my skateboard. I'm so pissed right now, could have been better if she didn't have an attitude. Made an appointment for pickup between 8-8:30 P.M. Got there at 7:50 but the sign said closed at 6 P.M. - confused There was a UPS guy inside the office so we knocked on the door. He came storming out yelling at us getting crazy for knocking. Really - he went ape on us, no name tag of course. Other UPS guys gathered around but said nothing. Terrrible post office; disrespectful and rude. I went to the post office to send a package and when I approached the door they locked it, while it was still a person in line. They said they're closed but it was only 4:58, it say they don't close until 6:00. I will never attempt to go here again, instead I went to the other post office a little ways away which was much better! read more

Not happy right now. My delivery was understandably postponed due to weather. I signed into UPS My Choice and released a package to be left knowing I wouldn't be home and they didn't deliver. I called customer service who gave me some BS about how some packages cannot be authorized for release, even though I'm looking at the site and it says authorized. They also couldn't find the authorization. Again, I'm looking at it, signed in with my name. You can't sign a release without a logon. They could have had the driver turn around since I called the second I got the text notification, but it took an hour to hassle with a supervisor and they would not make the driver redeliver today. They wouldn't even tell the driver that he had to deliver at a specified time tomorrow. What is the point of UPS My choice if delivery schedules and signatures won't be honored? read more

Following up on a delivery with my tracking number I found that the status was "delivered" two days before. I called the 1-800 # and was advised that the shipment was tied to a tree. I live on 10 acres of woods!!! You would think in the dozen or so times I had traversed my driveway I would have seen a box of shoes dangling from a tree. Each time I sent a package to my son in Ann Arbor, choosing next day air. he never received the package as promised. The driver demanded a signature, but as a student, he was not home to sign it. Delivery only made once a day. As for this time, if he doesn't receive by end of today, might as well throw away the package. Why can't it be left by the door? Called regarding a package that had been on a truck for 2 days yet cannot find out where my package is and I called the office and they told me to call the business that was shipping the package...Okay I have the tracking number, I have the printout stating where the package was...which stated it was on the truck for delivery. UPS delivery in Ypsilanti is very unreliable. The center has no control on truck drivers, so you are pretty much left to the driver's mercy. They come unspecified hours, and unlike USPS they would not leave the package to building management if you're not home. They are practically forcing people to stop by the customer center to do their own pick-up, that's their lousy untold business policy. If you encounter a problem-which happens quite often-well good luck with those rude, lazy "customer service" employees. My suggestion is try to avoid UPS in Ypsi, USPS is a better, reliable option. read more

I do not know about the center itself but the driver who came to pick up my package keeps leaving a Sorry we missed you notice on the entry door to my building but never enters even though he has a entry key. My package has been sitting outside my apartment door for a week. Today I saw him pulling off from my building and tried to chase him down to give him the package and He looked at me in his mirror and smiled and sped off. The delivery people are lazy and if not willing to do the job properly they should quit. I will be using Fed Ex from now on, I am to old to be trying to chase these lazy people down.
