The service here is just awful. The man at the counter is extremely rude and slow. He dropped my packages on the ground and left them there. A young woman who worked there actually had to help me carry the heavy packages to my car in 35 degree weather while he watched and spat out jokes at our expense. I really appreciated her help. Also, I was to pick up 7 heavy packages but was only given 6 of them even though I provided all of the tracking numbers and the infonotice slip. Therefore, I had to return to this horrible place. Because of the service here, I am only going to order from websites that use FedEx, DHL, or USPS. I will not return to this UPS store. My husband went to this location the next day to retrieve the package that wasn't given to us, and he received the same treatment from the same individual. read more

You and your Dallas and DFW siblings managed to hang onto Christmas gifts for day after day with no believable reason given until perishable items were a week plus old, and Christmas gift exchanges had passed. Three separate packages got to you on time to sit for 3 days, then pass on to Dallas or DFW for 3 or 4 more. The excuse on Dec 18 and later is the "weather" from Dec 7th? Unfortunately for you, USPS and FedEx have made liars of you, as all of their packages were delivered on time. 2 shipments I paid for 2-3 day shipping took 8 days - no reasonable explanation, no refund. We recieved most of our packages on time and with the usual friendly service. What was late didn't RUIN anything. We were compensated for late packages from the companies we ordered from, and were promptly refunded on items that were cancelled, (with enough time to purchace alternate gifts). I'll continue to use UPS, and I'm sure most of yall will too. I would like to remind everybody that the holidays can be hard. Some people should be ashamed of themselves. OMG. OMG. OMG. I will never EVER use UPS again. EVER. EVER. EVER. I ordered several things two weeks ago (including Christmas cards that I will never be able to mail out in time for people to receive by Christmas - let along New Years) AND paid Express shipping charges to make sure that I had those Christmas cards IN MY HANDS in time to address and mail out to friends and family - and not only do I not have ANYTHING YET (as they are stuck at this HUB), but they have had them SINCE THE 18TH (today is the 23rd). Every time I call to "track the package", their updates to me tell me they are on the truck to be delivered "by the end of the day". That's the same message that they've been telling me since Friday (today is Monday). I am so incredibly discouraged. OH, AND their message clearly states that UPS will NOT be refunding any money for ANY packages that were scheduled to be delivered between 12/8 and 12/24. So... let me get this straight... I paid EXPRESS SHIPPING CHARGES and you aren't going to refund me my money when YOU (UPS) didn't deliver it on time as per the agreement?!?!?! Oh... let me just call my Attorney on that one. I know UPS is a business so they have the typical 8-5 but that really makes it hard for those that work... 8-5.. -6.... sometimes even to 10 p.m. Luckily, UPS does give you the option of picking up your package at their customer care center. It's not exactly convenient if you live outside the loop (or even if you live in the loop) but it took me 15 minutes from Uptown during the day. It is Mesquite so it does feel like you are driving forever. Once there, plenty of parking was available so I just crossed my fingers that there wouldn't be a line! Fortunately, there was only 2 people in front of me and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Woo hoo! All in all, not as convenient as having the package waiting for me at home or picking it up at the store but at least it wasn't painful to get the package on my own. PS - make sure you map for Mesquite, TX and not Dallas, TX... otherwise you'll end up at a cementary... :) read more

And so it continues. Sorry UPS, but your Mesquite HUB hasn't a shred of leadership. You cannot claim to be an expert at logistics when you can't manage to get "1" box, 45 minutes across town! My package was shipped Wednesday 2-day, It was supposed to arrive Friday, but exception #1 happened and nobody can tell me what that exception was. Then it was to be delivered on Monday.. Monday 4AM someone scanned it onto truck and set it out for delivery. Monday comes and goes.. no package. Monday night 11:50pm, notify from UPS that Exception #2 has occurred and package is "expected" to go out the following day. Following day: Package has not been seen, or scanned since 4AM the prior Monday. It's expected that it will arrive on Tuesday, but who knows really? Here's my chat with CSR: me: Can you tell me why it wasn't delivered Monday? CSR: I can only say that your package was missed at sort facility me: How can it be missed if it was scanned? ( I know stupid question) CSR: I can't provide that information me: can you at least confirm it made it onto the truck for today's delivery? CSR: It says it's expected to arrive today me: Was it scanned onto the truck again? CSR: No me: so, how can you verify this, if it was not scanned? CSR: The system says that delivery is expected on 1/7/2014 me: I can read my own screen. What is the policy on scanning items. If an items was scanned onto a truck, then missed should it not be scanned back "into" the sort facility, then "scanned-out" again once it's placed back on the truck. CSR: I don't have that information. I have sent your request to the sort facility and they will contact you with a status update. After reading others comments, I am not going to hold my breath for that call. It's clear to me that Mesquite, Tx hub is a disaster area. I honestly don't expect to see my package anytime soon. From now on, I will avoid the "consumer side" of UPS and have everything shipped to my office. read more

I waited all day long for my fridge to be delivered. It was finally delivered at 7:10pm. The driver left it outside in the rain and did not knock or ring the doorbell. There was debris from the contents of the packing in my front yard so it was obviously dragged. The box was open and falling apart due to the rain. The fridge also had several dents and a broken component. UPS stated they could pick up the fridge on Friday but could not provide a timeframe, meaning I will miss another day of work. UPS also stated they could not provide a return box, although the box the fridge came in cannot be reused due to their error. This is unacceptable! read more

I have NEVER had such unprofessional, lazy and incompetent services as I had today at the UPS pickup in Mesquite, TX. I guess when you call UPS, it's not UPS, as the service person told me. Wow if I could give negative stars I seriously would. This is the worst p.o.s. UPS location there is. I have ordered 4 packages within the last month 3 of which have came to the mesquite location and 1 of which went to the Dallas location. Guess what? The ones that came to mesquite all stayed at their stupid hub for a week!!! Their reason? Weather conditions... Oh really?? Why did Dallas deliver my package on time then??? And one of them was even sent to the Dallas location from the mesquite location because the idiots at the mesquite location couldn't do their job and deliver my package. The funny thing is these guys just blame the weather for everything. Yes I'll admit we had some icy conditions here 2 weeks ago that lasted A COUPLE DAYS NOT A WHOLE WEEK but why just now are they holding my package ONCE AGAIN for a week and the put as their reason "network disruption due to prior weather conditions." Are you freaking kidding me?! We had bad weather 2 weeks ago and it's still effecting your delivery schedule???? I want to give our local UPS driver in the Plano 75075 area who delivers to my house at least twice a week 5 stars. This guy hustles every day for years. I had a package that ups tried to deliver to my house but because of my work schedule I was never there to sign for it. So it got sent to this ups location, no big deal. I called and they said they had the package and to be there before 7 or else it would get returned to the sender. So I get there about 6 and walk in and a man greets me by yelling across the store and asking what I needed, okay so no big deal, I proceeded to say that I had called and they told me to be here before 7. Before I could say anything else he cut me off and laughed saying that it wouldn't be here till 8. I said that that was not what I was told on the phone and he then said "I've been doing this for a long time I know it won't be here till 8" all the while he was being very rude and cut every sentence off. So I asked why he was being a dick. He then said he didn't have to partake in that kind of conversation and that he wasn't going to help me anymore so I asked if he could get someone else and he said they were busy. So I said I could wait. He then went to the corner waited about 30 seconds and yelled at someone in the back to come here. They walked in and he pointed and said could you take care of them. We were the only people in there so she was a little confused but came over and asked what she could do. I said the exact same thing to her about someone calling and she asked if the final notice was delivered today, again I was cut off by the man and he said yes it was today I let him Finnish then told the lady that it had actually been a couple days ago. She said okay asked our address and went to the back and came out with our package. The man then stayed in the corner and watched tv till we left. So a big thank you to the woman that helped me and my girlfriend today, you definitely saved the experience for us. Needless to say if it wasn't for her I would have had a terrible experience and probably wouldn't have used them again. read more

More than a hour and a half after I arrived at 8 PM I finally received the package that I went there to retrieve. The approach of the workers was nonchalant and we were just there. Make sure you receive a call directly from this store acknowledging that you're picking it up, otherwise they won't help you with your pick up. I would love to know if all UPS "Will Call" locations are as badly run as this one. 7:45PM, Friday: I arrived at the center. The door is locked and there is a cop in the parking lot, within sight of the door. Sign next to the door says that you can pick up your package ONLY during the half hour between 8 & 8:30PM. I am 5th in line. By 8:00 there are probably 30 people in line. The doors finally open at 8:05. We squeeze into an area about the size of a dorm room. There are three counters, but they are just for show, as there is only one guy working the front and he doesn't use any of the stations. We are instructed to sign in, which would be fine except that there is no place to move once you've signed in, and new people keep showing up. The water fountains are blocked by large hand trucks, which turns out to be a blessing, as there are no public restrooms here. By 8:30 there are at least 60 people packed in here, and no packages in sight. I am starting to have flashbacks to old newsreels about the horrors of Nazi Germany and the indignities of the cattle cars. Then a REALLY frightening thing happens. The lone worker pushes through the crowd and locks the door. People are literally packed in here like sardines, and you LOCK the only exit? You don't have a better way to enforce your hours of operation than to lock us in and the latecomers out, considering that you have an effing COP in your parking lot? Where is a Fire Marshall when you really need one? Finally get close enough to the notices on the wall to read that "no packages will be released until all trucks have arrived and been offloaded." (Or words to that effect) First truck is due to be offloaded at 8:30 the second one at 9:00. There is no third. Catch a glimpse of a woman worker in the back, apparently pulling packages by hand and manually checking them off the sign-in sheet. Really? I can scan a barcode with my PHONE, and this is being done manually? The male worker finally confirms what the sign says: They aren't releasing packages until the trucks are in. The natives are getting restless. I now realize that the cop is not stationed at the door for our safety in this sketchy neighborhood,but to protect the UPS workers from a riot. Some suggestions are made to speed up the process. No, they have their way and they are sticking to it. Don't confuse them with logic. More suggestions are made regarding parentage and intellectual ability. A few people leave in disgust. The rest of us shift our weight from foot to foot and try to be patient. Luckily, there are no screaming babies or misbehaving children. 9:10 Finally! Packages are being released! And pretty much in the order in which we signed in. One delay when the male worker helps a PYT, (pretty young thing, for those too young to remember the MJ song), with a big flat screen. Some grumbles, but we are sheep and wait some more. 9:45 I have my package and am headed home, and it ONLY took me two hours! Wow! I have a new appreciation for USPS - they at least have restrooms. Lesson learned: Avoid package pickup like the plague. Ship to ex-brother-in-law's work address before subjecting self to the Samuel Blvd station again. Sent a bi-weekly shipment of 8 large boxes of perishable product to our customer for p/u at the Mesquite customer center. Four were delivered, four are missing although the last scan is from the Mesquite customer center. After 30 frustrating minutes on the phone with UPS customer service, they put a tracer on 4 boxes that I know are floating around somewhere at their destination location. I will have to reship product today, knowing full well that the boxes will magically appear within minutes of the replacements being picked up. read more

This is the worst ever UPS hub I have ever experienced. My package has been stuck there since December 8 at 6am with no clear update up to now, December 13. Their website keeps showing "adverse weather..." as an excuse to hide their long term operational problems. A simple google search revealed so many people complained about their operations in this location in perfect weather conditions in the past. One person even mentioned they have long term labor problems here. I called UPS and chatted with their online staff but no one can tell anything really happened in this location but kept hiding in the "adverse weather...". UPS sucks. read more

Yet another case of idiocy from UPS Mesquite. I had two packages that were supposed to come last week. Package 1: Scheduled delivery on Wednesday. Got to Mesquite on Tuesday. UPS could not be bothered to even try to put it on the truck that day, even though it was beautiful blue skies and clear roads until late Wednesday night. Actually picked up from the UPS store on Friday, since if you don't schedule for pickup, they tend to return your package to sender. Package 2: Scheduled delivery on Thursday (which, to be fair, did have inclement weather. No big deal). Didn't send it to Dallas until Friday. Didn't bother to move it the few miles from Dallas to Mesquite over the weekend (even though they are obviously backlogged and could use some overtime). Gets to Mesquite on Sunday night, and for some reason, can't be picked up on Monday or Tuesday! It's literally sitting on the floor behind them but I can't have it! Oh by the way during all this, my wife's package from FedEx arrived on schedule, and USPS delivered my mail on time every single day, so it's not like I was at some unassailable fortress of solitude. The only reason I used UPS this time is because my retailer had free shipping. Next time, I'm paying the extra money to use someone else. read more

This is the worst UPS location. Have a package held for me to pickup. Show up 7:00 AM to pick it up. Can't find it. Wait 30 minutes, still cannot find it. Take my phone number, 3 hours later not even a call to update me on the status. They do not even have a scan in process at the customer center so every time you try and pick something up they have to search for it because they don't really know if it's there, in high-value storage or still on the truck. Package delayed (still not even re-scheduled) due to weather (North TX flash flood). There *was* a flash flood... 6 days ago. I've lived in North TX and seen first-hand how people throw up their arms at the first drop of rain, so I'm not surprised if they just gave up. No update on whether this package will be delivered. The driver delivered 2 of them, then said, "I don't know where the other two are, they may be on a different truck." I called the customer service number, they barely even spoke english. I have been using UPS for different business and personal shipments and had never had a problem. I trusted the company and thus when I had to mail my passport for geetting a visa, I chose to use UPS. Passport made it safely to Atlanta the next day (used Air Saver), I had included a self-addressed envelope for my passport to be sent back to me, but it was a ground label, and delivery was supposed to take 2 days. Everything was running smoothly until my package got to Mesquite, TX. It arrived there april 23rd around 7 p.m. and was sititng there for a whole day until I called UPS friday morning, april 25th to figure out what was going on. I was told they had to open a lost package investigation in order to try to locate it. It is monday april 28th and I still have no news about my passport. My visas are in that document, and it is extremely important. I will no longer choose to ship ground with UPS when it comes to things that are important. I am still waiting to hear back from UPS. read more
