Customer service contradicted themselves constantly -- every day a new story, none of them true. Then they told me it was "returned to sender"... except it wasn't. It vanished. Gone. My pharmacy sent a replacement overnight, and FedEx tried to return that one too without ever trying to deliver it. If a supervisor hadn't stepped in, I would have lost the second shipment as well. They have had packages make it to the hub and the somehow simply vanish. No one can find them. They can be tracked from the origin and each stop in between. However once they get to Mesquite, they suddenly are no longer able to be found. There is no way to contact them directly, you have to call India. The question becomes, do I now I to watch EBay or Facebook Marketplace to find my missing stuff. Is park of the labor agreement a certain amount of theft. UPS charges a lot to ship and then fights insurance claims. Billions in profits and seems to allow pilfering in their business. I had a package arrive at the Mesquite hub on 11/29 and ever since then it has just said "ON THE WAY". I opened an investigation to locate the package, but I guess someone there is just going to enjoy my Christmas present! The 'due to weather' is a copout....my package coming from Georgia is sitting in Dallas with 51 degree temps today. I was supposed to get it Wednesday, but due to actual bad weather I then was advised it would be Thursday....then Friday....and when I spoke with someone at UPS a few hours ago they assured me it was on a truck and 'out for delivery' from Southlake, TX. Then two hours later the tracking info tells me it will be delivered Monday due to 'bad weather'. I have received my mail from USPS, I have received two packages by FedEx YESTERDAY (Thursday) and UPS can't get a package from Georgia to Dallas to Austin in two, three, four, five and maybe even six days. I'm pissed as I needed these items to complete the production of my products over the weekend for about 25 customer orders that I have taken as far as I can without the items that should have been delivered on Wednesday. read more

There are some definite ups and downs to this location, but they are really good at holding packages when you ask them to if the delivery requires a signature and I've never had any trouble picking up the package due to any error on their part. Also, 90% of the time the people there are really nice and they have great customer service, and the times when it hasn't been so great I can't really blame them because I'd be snippy too if I had 30 people griping at me and crammed into a small space. Some of the negatives are: - Really small interior and so if you're coming for the late pickup time (they open from 8:00pm-8:30pm to let you pick up held packages) be prepared to be crammed in with about 20-30 other people, and bring a book to read. Just FYI the normal pick up time is until 7:00. - In a pretty sketchy neighborhood and there are always people hanging around outside, and I really don't know why or what they're waiting for. They just always stare at me - It takes some time to get your package to the front, I swear they have to crawl through Narnia to get my package. If it weren't for the sketchiness and the time spent waiting, they'd probably be at 4 stars. At the end of the day, they let me get my wine club shipments and that means more booze for me and my SO. The chaos I have experienced has been far from ideal. Let alone ridiculous. My passport was sent to ups to be sent to me over a week ago. Well, it gets to the Dallas HUB to finally make its way to me. And to my surprise it never arrived. I love as patient and waited hoping that it would update. To which then I ask my friend who is a manager for ups to help me and guide me through what I need to do. I finally get someone to open an investigation. Less than an hour after he started it, I get a phone call letting me know they haven't found it. Less than an hour, which then makes me believe that they aren't even looking. I get another call asking what they were looking for and no one seemed to know what a US passport looked like. Because I was asked not once but 2x. I wait some more and at the exact 48hr mark of me filing the claim, I was told that it was gone for good. When it hasn't even left the building. I try and call and get hung up on more than once. And talked to a lady named Kim who then heard my frustration and swore she reopened it and that she promised she knew people would look. I asked 2 other people if it was reopened and they said yes. Today I talk to someone and they said it wasn't and that they'd email the sender. The sender is the us government. It doesn't work like that. And was basically told to kick rocks when I'm supposed to leave in 3 weeks. I've already had to wait for the passport agency to send it which took way over the expedited time and now ups losing it when it hasn't left the hub. My friend then asked people at the hub if they actually remember looking for it and admittedly they hadn't! I had more help from the passport agency than ups! I have never experienced such poor communication, customer service, incompetence, and LIES from any company ever. Now I have had to reach out to the senate for help because of this "mistake"... I'm hurt, sad, angry, and fed up. I have tried talking to someone who can help me and when I even ask for corporate, I get refusal. Don't believe me? I paid extra to have a package (a small letter) expedited next day air. Due to weather my package has now been delayed for a second time. It should have arrived by Wednesday at the latest, but now I have to wait another day. Next day air packages should be prioritized and delivered by a back up driver, or a manager that day that it was scheduled to arrive. No refund because of the storm in Kentucky makes it an act of God and their delivery guarantee is null and void. Ridiculous!! I need my passport and I'm waiting on papers to finish my application and send it in, that's why I paid extra to get it faster. I feel sorry for you if you have to come here. It felt like the DMV waiting line only worse because it was after hours. A lot of upset people there waiting makes it even more difficult and uncomfortable. I have no idea how to explain what the wait is all about, especially when you have the option to request a package be ready for you to pick up and they still have to go find it. Oh boy...if you're going here, its probably because you either had a problem with a delivery or you don't know about the UPS Store yet. Either way, if you find yourself here....be prepared for an uncomfortable ride. Now its not to say that the staff here is terrible...in fact they are nice and friendly. However, because of the size of the hub compared to the size of the office, you often times have several people (think 10-15) standing in line all waiting to either ship a package or receive a package. All impatient...all tired, maybe hungry. And you're just wanting to get the heck out of there and go home. Long story short...go to this place with lowered expectations. I have been home all damn day. I keep tracking my package to see if the driver is close so I can run some errands after delivery. I step out my back door at 2:20pm. I track my package at 2:30pm and it shows delivered at 2:24pm. I check my front porch, under my truck, in the bed of my truck. No package. Called customer service and they tell me they will check with the driver and call back in about an hour. No call back. I called them and got hung up on. I called back immediately, rep said the same thing about calling me back in an hour. I refused a call back and said I would rather speak to a supervisor. The rep hangs up again. Do not use UPS if you have any other options. If there was a way to post negative stars, I would do that. Even if a package is overnighted, delivery is not prioritized. I was told by a supervisor in customer service that even though a package had been overnighted, if the driver has more on his truck than he can deliver by shift end, the package is returned to the facility for delivery the next day. Furthermore, the same thing can happen again and again. If you need a package on a certain day, you must call UPS and arrange to pick up your package at the facility in Mesquite. I was told by a UPS Customer Service Supervisor that even though their business is delivering packages, they cannot guarantee a package will be delivered on a certain day. I had ordered a printer I needed for work that was overnighted and scheduled for delivery on Friday. It was not delivered and I was not notified it would not be. It was then scheduled for delivery on Saturday. A supervisor assured me it would definitely be delivered on Saturday. After talking to a second supervisor Saturday evening about 5:00 p.m., I found out the driver did not show up for work, so nothing on the truck was delivered. They said it would be delivered on Monday. They said there was no way I could get it Saturday evening. The clerks had left for the day. I was promised it would be delivered on Monday. It was not. I talked to a supervisor Monday evening about 8:30 p.m. and was assured it would definitely be delivered by 10:30 p.m. It was not. I was told by a supervisor that the package would still be delivered that night. They said they had eight deliveries before mine and then it would be delivered. It was not. I called another supervisor and was told the trucks had all returned and my package would be scheduled for delivery on Tuesday, but there was no guarantee the same thing would not happen on Tuesday. I said, are you telling me UPS business is delivering packages and you cannot guarantee when a package will be delivered? They said yes. I said, what do I have to do to get my package? She said she could arrange for me to pick it up the next morning. She said that would be the fastest way to get my package. I picked it up Tuesday morning. Remember, the package was overnighted and scheduled for delivery the Friday before. I cannot believe the incompetence of UPS. Their main business is delivering packages, yet they cannot guarantee when they will deliver a package. If you use UPS, be aware that your package will be delivered when they get around to it and at their convenience. They will not alter their route in any way for you. read more

Ordered online from Sephora on Black Friday, my order was shipped out on November 29th. UPS says they received it from Sephora on December 1st. It had a delivery date of December 5th, which is the Thursday that it had just barely started sleeting. Checking to make sure it was still going to be out for delivery on the 5th, it came to my attention that Mesquite actually received the package on Wednesday the 4th but it did not get unloaded from a trailer. I have worked in shipment myself, this is not acceptable. You work until the job is done, so many times I worked 4-5 hours past my schedule said I should have. Anyways, so I'm thinking "bad weather ahead? awesome. Probably won't get this package until Monday/Tuesday." I call UPS and talk to them and they say yes, we see that it is in Mesquite and it will be delivered once the weather clears up. Okay, great. Until I check on Saturday and see that it has arrived somewhere in Illinois(where it was just before Mesquite) and I call Sephora and UPS again. They tell me "because of the bad weather, we shipped it back to the previous UPS hub.." WHY?! Why not just leave the package where it is supposed to be? It is 20 minutes away from my home, how much closer would you like to get? I have called Sephora and UPS multiple times. UPS only connects to people in another country, they are no help what so ever.. Sephora just keeps telling me to wait, it should be there at the end of the week. At this point, my package should have arrived on December 5th, the day that was perfectly fine for delivering packages for the most part. Hardly any ice had even affected the area until later in the day but nope, some people didn't do their job and unload the trailer. They are telling me they cannot say it's lost until I receive the package (seriously.) and that they think it is in Illinois again just sitting and waiting until the weather down here is 100% perfect to re-ship my package. Oh and did I mention there is no delivery date what so ever? It says "unavailable." I am being told nothing can be done, and they will ship it, when they ship it. UPS has a wonderful, spotless reputation in my home state but the system here in North Texas seems to be struggling. We ordered two separate items this month via UPS (paid extra for 2-day shipping). However, both were stuck at the Mesquite office for 5 and 6 days respectively. This turned the "2-day shipping" in to 7 and 8 day shipping. This is slower, and more expensive, than the post office. Why are packages sailing along fine until they hit Mesquite? Perhaps UPS needs to upgrade the facilities in Mesquite? Redesign or expand the warehouse? I'm not sure what the problem is with their system but it is tarnishing the great reputation that UPS has worked hard to maintain. read more

Service here is awful. The folks at the counter have a bad attitude and lack basic customer service skills. I'm an incredibly patient person, however these folks push that patience to the limit. The numerous times I've had to come here to pick up a package I was always told misinformation and ended up having to make multiple trips back to get the package. What gets incredibly frustrating is that many of the CSRs behind the counter talk to you in UPS jargain that most people don't understand. Using UPS slang that we haven't heard of makes for a great deal of miss-communication about what might be needed or not need to pick up something or ship something, as well as making their customers feel stupid. The largest reason for miss-communication at this location is that the customer service center is in a separate building from the sorting facility. Apparently most UPS hubs have the customer service center attached. As a result when a national UPS rep tells you over the phone that your package will be available for pickup at a certain time, that is based on them believing the center is attached and can more quickly get your package. There is a truck that makes runs throughout the day from the sort facility to the customer service center to bring packages marked for pickup. The customer service center here is small so they can't hold much. Your package is only coming if you call ahead and get them to move the package from the sort facility to the customer service center. If you have to pick up a package here call ahead and make sure it's at the customer service facility first and then add another 4 to 5 hours on-top of what a national CSR rep tells you over the phone. read more

UPS has usually provided top notch service for me across the US. So it really pains me to write this. I ordered an item from a retail outlet and they shipped it UPS. Due to the recent weather here in the Dallas area, UPS has decided to just hold on to my package and has yet to make an attempt to deliver it. Even though it arrived in their Mesquite office on Feb 2nd. Since then, I've had mail delivery from USPS on 4 of the 5 possible days. If I was billing myself as better than another company, I'd be sure to actually DO that. But UPS has decided to just sit on the package. When I call their 800 number, I get hung up on by the automated service. They don't have an excuse for this. I'm most likely going to write someone at their Corp headquarters about why this occurred.
