I have been in this area many times and never seen this place. My friend made reservations for 5 and we were sat down right away inside. They practiced social distancing great so we felt safe. The place was so cute and decorated nicely. Our server was Ian and he was great. He gave me drink suggestion of a frozen mah thai and it was great. I also ordered the spicy muscles and it was really good as well. My friends ordered different food items and they loved their dishes and the bill wasn't bad at all at about $29. Just amazing. A very classy ambience very upscale place.I went on Vaentines day with my wife. We ordered their signature cocktails. We are vegetarians so we ordered Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Asian Mango Salad and two types of pizzas. This is one of the best american cuisine i have had. The pizza was just perfect with perfect thickness and crust. Brussel sprout was perfectly seasoned and roasted. Asian mango salad was also nice. At the end we ordered a chocolate mousse which was good but not out of the world. All in all, we ended up having a great time. read more

My boyfriend picked this place out for a night out, and it was such a lovely experience! We sat at a high top table, distanced far from everyone, and all the servers wore masks. Menus are by barcode scan, too, allowing everything to be as contactless as possible. We didn't catch our servers names, but both of them were great about filling our waters and checking in with us. We decided to get (4) starter dishes to share to try the different flavors rather than two large dishes, and if one of your choices is the short rib poutine fries, anticipate getting full from this! The rest of our choices were the buffalo cauliflower, flat iron steak tips, and shrimp & avocado. Our favorites by far were the flat iron steak tip and shrimp avocado. We loved the seared and grilled touch to the flat iron steak tip, the sweet butternut squash puree undertone, and crunchy texture added by the spicy fried onions. The shrimp was also grilled and topped an extremely refreshing, ripe guacamole underneath with crispy tortilla strips. Both these dishes hit my favorites (crunchy texture, sweet base, umami protein).The poutine is also good, although rather filling, but the buffalo cauliflower is a pass for us. Next time, we won't get this - the sauce was overpowering and also made the crispiness on the cauliflower quickly become soggy. Regardless, the execution of these dishes was above our expectations, and for a night out, this was a perfect choice. read more

Was literally rushing us out, not just the slight hint of bringing our bill, but a manager actually said "Not to rush but... we need the table" even though there were plenty of open tables around. He came back a few minutes later and said "Never mind, we adjusted so stay as long as you like". Maybe figure that out before approaching guests?! Food was ok but not great at those prices. I could understand if the service made up for it. But the best was they charged my credit card for more than what I signed for (added to the tip). Called the restaurant to have them confirm the amount I entered on the credit card receipt vs what someone entered. Someone changed them amount! Tried this place a couple months ago and I believe their menu changes often so keep that in mind. They should update their menus online to reflect this! Was a little frustrated when I got in as we had made a reservation and our table wasn't ready for a while... when we finally were seated it was in the area they usually reserve for bigger events so we were the only ones there which felt a little strange. It was busy but shouldn't take that long if you have a reservation. (Only reason I'm knocking off a star!) However was super impressed with the whole rest of the evening. Beautiful restaurant, has a very nyc vibe to it. I loved my "Gettin' Figgy wit it" cocktail. My mom got some sort of sangria which I tried and didn't like as much. We loved the pork belly bao bun we tried as an app as well as a mushroom toast. For the main course we ordered a skirt steak, scallops, and goat cheese/bacon pizza. Got some sort of chocolate cake for dessert. All were excellent! Want to come back to try more dishes for sure. Over all a bit on the pricier side but well worth it. Uproot is upping their game lately. I went on Saturday night and the food, cocktails and service were on par with a top NYC restaurant. As an ex-bartender, I found the Mountain Boulevard was a perfectly crafted cocktail with chocolate bitters balancing the Italian vermouth and bourbon. The calamari special was tender and crispy with a wasabi Honey sauce. The chipotle chicken sandwich was anything but basic - juicy flavorful chicken, cilantro micro greens, applewood bacon, chipotle aioli on a Balthazar brioche bun. Well balanced and perfectly executed. The house made cheesecake was creamy and not overly sweet with currents and fresh cherry sauce. This place is quickly becoming my go to restaurant. Stopped by yesterday for a few drinks after dinner! I've been wanting to come here to try out their food but I had already eaten dinner with my boyfriend beforehand so I'm definitely going to come back for the food next time! The ambience of the place is very modern and homey with its surrounding decor (something I really enjoyed!) Our bartender was very nice and attentive regardless of how busy it was yesterday night! The drinks were exactly as we had expected and even the old fashioned had a great amount of liquor in it which is always a good thing haha! If it wasn't for the good reviews, I'd never go just by looking at this strip mall restaurant from the outside. Pricey, but good food. My very simple kale salad consisted of kale, but it was seriously one of the best kale-only salads I've ever had - I'd have it again. The salmon tartare was finger-licking delish - although I had to be careful because it contained soy sauce. It's hard too find "clean" food, or a skillful chef willing to omit ingredients - so, peeps with any sensitivities need to be extra careful. I took a risk. I was annoyed with the service. During our dinner, I think we had 5 different servers - some were less knowledgeable than others but all asking different questions, and it all got too much too quickly. There's room for improvement on this front - 3 stars for service. read more

My mom's boss gave her a gift card so she was nice enough to take me to dinner on a recent trip to visit them. In typical fashion, I checked the menu 100 times beforehand, but knew it would have to be a game time decision. When we arrived, I was impressed by the tasteful yet funky decor, the number of windows, the high ceilings and just the size of the place in general. We were seated in a back room, which seemed to be a little quieter and more intimate than the main dining area. The waitstaff could not have been nicer or more efficient- they were at the ready to answer any questions about the menu and refill waters. After much contemplation, I settled on the fried mushrooms (gluten free!!) and a cauliflower and roasted eggplant dish. My mom was thrilled with her steak salad and my dad and brother-in-law loved their flatbreads. My parents aren't exactly adventurous eaters, but my mom insisted that we order the guacamole as a starter. She had never had it before, but she raved about it! This is high praise. Overall, this was a great experience and if I lived closer, I would be a regular for sure. This place is a true gem and I imagine the food never gets old since the menus are seasonal. I am so grateful that a place like this exists with creative, delicious, fresh ingredients and consideration for those of us that are gluten free and/or vegetarian. The food here is exceptional. A couple times I met a friend here for Happy Hour and we both were ecstatic about the Goat Cheese Wontons and also the Buffalo Cauliflower. I came back twice more for a full dinner, meeting a friend who is very knowledgeable about cocktails. At other places she has had to explain her more complex requests to the bartender, but not at Uproot! She asserted "now here's a bartender who knows how to make a proper cocktail!" I ordered the STEAK SANDWICH -Allen Brothers marinated & grilled skirt steak, chimichurri aioli, seasoned tomatoes, red onion, shredded lettuce, crispy potato sticks,on rustic sub bread. I added the manchego cheese, for a one dollar more and I got a side salad instead of fries. (If you do come here you must order their TRUFFLE FRIES, you won't be disappointed there so good.) I must say I was completely blown away by how good my steak sandwich was. The steak was so tender it melted in my mouth. The flavors were incredible.The chimichurri aïoli added so much flavor to the steak.The crispy potato sticks added a nice crunch to complete the sandwich. My steak was cooked perfectly to my liking med-rare. I decided to add the Manchego cheese, I'm happy I did. I chose the side salad of mesclun greens instead of fries and it came with a wonderful homemade lemon dressing on the side it was light and refreshing. My friend who has celiac's ordered the WOOD FIRE GRILLED BURGER it was 8oz. and came from the Local butcher shop John's Meat Market The burger was topped with blue cheese, no bun on a bed of mesclun greens with the homemade lemon dressing. My other friend ordered the same thing. They both thoroughly enjoyed their burgers. I was full and so were my friends so we didn't order dessert but we did order coffee. The coffee was really good. I was told by our waiter they use premium beans and fresh grind them. I've also been here for dinner on several occasions and it too was wonderful. I really love that Uproot uses locally sourced food and vendors. There is plenty of parking. It's located in the center of Warren in a strip mall next to Aikou . Uproot has a HAPPY HOUR - Every Monday 3p-closing. There is also REVERSE HAPPY HOUR- Fri&Sat 10p - closing bar and lounge only. Wednesday's is BURGER NIGHT. Thursday's is TITO'S DRINK SPECIALS. We really love Uproot. Usually stop in for lunch. They have the best burger in the area. Great wings. Tacos. Salads. You name it. A nice selection of wine and beer. Our last visit was Valentines Day. The service, unfortunately, left much to be desired. The place seemed to be short handed. Our appetizer was slow to arrive. Then, in a weird twist, after taking one bite of our wings, our entrees arrived. That's a bit on the amateurish side, Uproot. Our server never checked on us and never asked if we were satisfied or required anything else. When told our appetizer and main course came out roughly at the same time, he replied, yeah. Nice. Came here for the first time last night as a surprise for my Birthday... We had reservations for 7:00 and were promptly seated at a nice table for 2. I have been meaning to try this restaurant forever and I'm so happy I finally made it here because everything was excellent! Our server Laura was outstanding along with the rest of the staff to make my birthday extra special. Now for our starters of course my Yelp friend Tyler told me I definitely had to get the Truffle Fries as they were the best his wife has ever had and trust me he wasn't lying... Even though they aren't on the dinner menu they are a well known staple of this restaurant I'm told. They were hand cut, crisp, well seasoned with Parmesan, parsley, sea salt, and truffle essence accompanied by three dipping sauces and were delicious! We also ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower which was lightly fried and served with a vanilla bean buffalo sauce, blue cheese, celery, carrots, and chives and this was outstanding as well. Then we were also treated by Chef Nick to some Crispy Kabocha Squash which has Aji amarillo, sweetened soy glaze, katsuobushi, cilantro, and sesame seeds. This was a very tasty dish as well... Now onto our entrees... My fiancé had the Halibut which was pan seared and served with warm spicy tomato salsa, lentils, pancetta, frisée salad, fresh lime, and cilantro. He enjoyed every bite, the fish was tender and flaky and went perfectly with the accompaniments. For my entree I had one of their nightly specials which was a Pork chop served with a creamy polenta and kale. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and had a nice char and the polenta was creamy, well seasoned and went perfectly with the kale. For dessert my fiancé brought a cake he made with us since he's a pastry chef and they were kind enough to bring it out with a candle and then plated a slice for me and packaged the rest of the cake to bring home. I was just sad that I couldn't try any of those spectacular donuts that I saw coming out but I simply had no room left in my stomach... But I do see a return visit in my near future to enjoy them along with some more delicious food! Great birthday dinner with a wonderful friendly accommodating staff and spectacular food... First time here. Decent food. Lack of attention left a bad taste ... we were the first customers to walk in at opening (noon). I am wearing a boot on my left foot and walking somewhat stilted; we are walked to the very back of the restaurant to a table, and 20 minutes later I see a group of three women sitting at the long communal table at the front of the restaurant. Really? We order, get our food, finish, get the check. We put out $60 for the $53 meal and $20 for small change - I explain what I just wrote and tell him what I want. He comes back immediately with the change of the $20 and leaves. It's close to 1pm now and the place had been getting busier all along, so I chase him down *in my boot* to ask where my change is, and he explains he just brought the change of the $20. Um ... ok. I go back to my table. Now he starts placing food from the kitchen at tables, and greeting new customers that just sat down, and I'm still waiting for my change with a $10 bill laid out for his tip. After another 5 minutes, after he'd taken the order from the table next to me and walked away to place said order, I slid the $10 back into my pocket, and we got up to put our coats on. As I zipped up he came back to the table (empty-handed) and I told him that my change is his tip. I'm guessing he was new to serving, but it'll be a minute before I go back. No, I didn't speak to a manager because by that time I just wanted to get out. There was nothing wrong with our food - Asian salad with shrimp added, and the steak sandwich. read more

Uproot is really trendy restaurant with modern decor. I love their eclectic menu. I came her on 3 different occasions and would give them 3 different rating for each visit. The first time I would of gave them 5 stars that night I had the Buffalo Cauliflower as my appetizer which was really good! For dinner I had the Prime strip steak with potato onion cakes which was Amazing! It was the dish I had here so far! Definitely get their prime strip steak! For dessert I had their chocolate chip in a skillet which was very good! The second time I came I felt it was 4 stars. That day I had their fried Brussels sprouts. On the menu it said it was coming with fall spiced butternut sauce, spicy sweet and sour onions, and pickled apples. But, basically it was pretty much just fried Brussels sprouts. It was good, but I wish it had more of the flavors as it was described. For my entree I had the shrimp and noodles which was tasty! Tonight I would of rated it 3.5 stars. I ordered the shrimp and avocado appetizer. It was described as having mashed avocado, fresh mango, crispy corn masa, and chipotle honey. Again, this was another dish that sounded a lot better than it was. It pretty much was mashed avocado with some corn chips. The mango wasn't sweet as it's not season now. Overall it was just ok. For dinner I had their burger and fries. The burger was very good! It was nice and juicy! The fries I ordered with it were horrible! They had no seasoning and were over fried! They were too hard and burnt! I was really disappointed with the fries! Overall, I give this restaurant 4 stars. Some dishes are excellent and some just ok, but their fries are terrible! The 4 of us went on Saturday night. Wife and cousin got the 10oz filet which was just ok and came with zero sides for $60! Not worth it at all. I got the salmon which again, was just ok. It was cooked well but small portion of probably 4-5 oz. The tuna carpaccio was not good. The topping on it did not work at all. I will save the wings are pretty good and they give you probably 12 to 14 small wings. My son got the bar pie which was doused and Parmesan.... Not a standard bar pie at all. Service was slow, refills for drinks were missed and dirty plates remained on the table as staffed walked by. Overall drinks were decent except for my wife's Cosmopolitan, which tasted nothing like a standard cosmopolitan. Over all this place is way overpriced for what you got. read more

Sat at the bar while I waited for a table outside and the bartenders made some great drinks. When we sat down at the table we asked one of the servers Baylee what she would recommend and she mentioned the Truffle Champignon. Wow was she right. Unfortunately, this restaurant has gone downhill since the apparent ownership change. The recipes seem to have changed, and they've taken off some of the items off the menu. if I could give zero stars I would ! this place has gone to absolute shit. we sat down on a slow night with a group of 10 adults and took 25 minutes to get one round of drinks. the place seems to be run by kids who care more about socializing then serving customers. the food however was good and we did enjoy our drinks but the service staff crushed the experience and we will never come here again. do yourself a favor and go across the lot to saly G's or across the street to the other restaurants that serve drinks. this is unacceptable for a town that doesn't have many options for night life. read more

Great place for happy hour! Ordered the clams, bar pie, guac, and chorizo tots with 2 drinks all for $50 during happy hour. The service was excellent - we had a server and the manager (?) check on us several times to make sure we were satisfied. Organized an work event here, and would have to say I'm impressed. Gave them a heads up with the approximate number of people (15ish), and the staff was more than accommodating... leaving a message for us from another customer & asking us if we'd prefer the larger grou area before giving it away. We were happy campers at the bar. Two of their blueberry acai cosmos (and there's tons of other flavors like PB&J, double expresso, pineapple... whattt) was enough to keep me happy and bubbly for most of their happy hour. I also treated myself to a Salmon Tiradito, which was an absolutely delightful twist to your standard poke/sashimi/ceviches. Sweet (passion fruit) meets spicy (chili) meets crunch (yucca). What a fantastic combo. The rest of the guests seemed satisfied with their drinks, wings & cauliflower... so it looks like there really is a little something for everyone here. read more
