I don't ever write a review but this was my first time being here last night and the place had a great feel to it. Sat at the bar while I waited for a table outside and the bartenders made some great drinks. When we sat down at the table we asked one of the servers Baylee what she would recommend and she mentioned the Truffle Champignon. Wow was she right. Unfortunately, this restaurant has gone downhill since the apparent ownership change. The recipes seem to have changed, and they've taken off some of the items off the menu. We may stop by for an occasional cocktail nowadays, which is disappointing because this used to be one of our favorite spots for a date night or dinner with some friends. read more

The restaurant is very pretty and the ambiance sets a nice atmosphere for great conversation with friends and family. The service was also great. Safe to say, this is my new favorite spot in Warren. Everything about Uproot was fab! Atmosphere: Trendy and modern. Open concept with plenty of space and high ceilings. The restaurant was well kept looking very clean and tidy. It did see pretty packed when we arrived for dinner at Friday at 8pm. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes... but it was totally worth the wait! If you're visiting during peak hours, I'd suggest making a reservation. Service: Quick and attentive. Our waitress was friendly and gave us her recommendations when asked. Food was cleared out in a timely manner. Food: Delicious! I tried the following items: 1) glazed chicken potstickers 2) side ceasar salad 3) truffle fries 4) margarita pizza. I didn't have a single complaint about any of the items. But I must say, the truffle fries really stood out because of the incredible sauces that were served with it. I would most definitely order them again! I'd also note that there were so many other good options on the menu... definitely coming back to try the cauliflower pani puri and spicy adobo tacos! The place always has a great vibe that makes you feel relaxed yet super trendy. The food is overall good! The whole event was planned with Daymian's help who has been by far the best coordinator I've ever dealt with! He is beyond helpful, professional and accommodating in efforts to make my mom's surprise event as perfect as possible! Great spot for happy hour with bar pies and small dishes like the Bao Buns and Buffalo Cauliflower. Menu changes quite a bit. Service is great but the bar area could get quite loud during happy hour. The back dining area is an option for a quieter dining experience. read more

Our server couldn't have been nicer. We ordered: The wings, (buffalo sauce)they were delicious and had both ranch and blue cheese on side- spicy and so good! Artisanal fig pizza, it was ok, it was missing something, mozzarella cheese or a balsamic drizzle? Not sure but we were a little disappointed. Burger, we added mushrooms and asked for truffle fries, the bun was fluffy and the meat was fresh- cooked perfectly with just the right amount of pink. 5/5! Surprise surprise, Uproot put out yet another five star performance. The front of the house as well as the back did an exceptional job taking care of us from the moment we walked in until we walked out. Presentation of every dish is always excellent and unique! The hostess helped me stage a Valentine's table with flowers, our waitress (I forget her name, sorry!!! Began with an M... to the waitress, you were kick ass)! We started with a mushroom/Gouda pizza (so good, everything just meshes) and a salmon tiradito (sushi tuna with chips on a spicy sauce, loved it! I can eat a fresh jalapeño; so, although this sauce didn't bite me, it could bite you - ask for a sample)... we followed with the organic, gluten free tomato soup special. Awesome. Was made with almond milk, included walnuts. Great textures. Total gastronomy! For entrees, she got the house-made garganelli pasta with mushrooms - lightly dressed, just perfect; I had the duck... never had duck, but I trust Uproot. It was really good! The duck was served over greens that really balanced the dish. For dessert, we ordeeed the pumpkin cheesecake and the s'more cookie; both were really good! They wouldn't take our valid Gift Card because some dude bought Uproot a couple months ago and doesn't think he should accept gift cards issued by previous ownership. More importantly, ask anyone around , this place is gone DOWN HILL! All the food we got had no soul. They don't even offer a good cheeseburger (that sucked too) $19 for a burger ... Unfortunately this place will be changing ownership again ...it can not last on Liquor Alone and I think that is its only angle .... Food Sucks - we thought we had $200 to spend on gift card. 5/21/22 found this restaurant just browsing around yelp yesterday. My wife and I said what the hell, it's a bit further than we were used to going but by judging the performances lately of other local eating establishments, we decided to go. We made a reservation, and got there on time, we were seated immediately, with lightning fast service. The food was absolutely amazing. Ordered the Buffalo cauliflower bites and they were mouthwatering. I had the prime strip & my wife had the scallops both main dishes were phenomenal. I will definitely be back here soon! read more

The second you walk in your transported to a luxury experience. The cocktails were amazing and unique from some of the typical ones you'd find at a restaurant, and the menu was so diverse! 2nd time here, & once again I was not disappointed. The food here is great!!! Parking is easy & abundant, decor is great, service is great, drinks are great, food is great. DEFINITELY worth checking out. It's a place than can be romantic, or semi-casual (not a T-shirt & shorts kinda place), good for parties, & nice outdoor area for nice nights. They even have this unique system for when you box up your unfinished food to go...Just go with it, LOL!! First, they asked me if there was a special occasion that we were celebrating. I said it was our anniversary! So our memorable seating was next to the restroom sign, which in back to us was the kitchen! If you have a corporate credit card it's the perfect place! Very small portions for a very big price. Unless you like potatoes! Because my $48 bass entrée had a vast portion of fried potatoes that resembles tater tot's! We also ordered the octopus which was the width of my pinky finger, and as long as 5 inches and was actually an entrée for $28! More potatoes! You must come here if you love carbs, and would like to pay for potatoes. Oh, by the way, you can't have bread unless you pay $6 additional! only wonderful part was our waiter who went out of his way to be kind and sweet, and I believe very embarrassed by our servings! read more

The Ambiance is a very Fun and Up Beat place, the selection of apps and food is a nice change from the norm. The service is always great.

Exceptionally well-made dirty martMinis. The chef special steak sandwich, very well balanced meat to vegetables ratio, cooked perfectly. The real surprise was the bread, really great texture and taste, not hard but had some crunch to it. There was nothing special about this restaurant. I wanted to love it, it came highly recommended. A lot of the staff wear perfume / cologne that is so strong, you can taste it. We were a party of three, asked for bread and butter and were given two slices of bread. The vegetable sides are really skimpy, especially the broccoli. The fries are a really generous portion. My steak came out really raw, I ordered it medium. Was fixed when I sent it back. Waiter rushed us, still waiting on my second drink. They cleared the table while one guest was still eating. Uproot has a cute interior and nice vibe. I ordered the pork belly appetizer, which was very good. It came out pretty quickly after ordering it. I was disappointed in the size of the individual pieces of pork belly, as they seemed a bit small, but it was crispy and flavorful. I got the crispy chicken sandwich for dinner, and it was very good. The only constructive feedback I have is the chicken breast itself was huge. The breast extended far outside of the bun, so much so I cut off the ends and had 2 chicken fingers. The bacon that came on the sandwich was good, but like 80% fat. The person I dined with got the burger, which also looked good. The french fries were very good, perfectly sized and salted. If the portions were right sized, it would've been a 10/10. read more

Walking into uproot felt like I was being transported to Midtown Manhattan. I completely forgot that I was in the suburbs of New Jersey. Very posh and modern restaurant and lounge that I really enjoyed date night out. We started with the olive tapenade flatbread and the ahi tuna tostada. All very good but be aware the olive flatbread is salty but that is to be expected with olives! The tostada was an interesting texture made of cornmeal - softer than I had anticipated but still good! Had the spicy soppressata pizza with kale (spicy and sweet!) and a side of truffle fries. Truffle fries were kind of pricey but worth it ! For dessert we had the "pecan pie" we substituted the butternut squash ice Cream for maple ice cream- it was deconstructed pecan pie which I must have not realized ! It was really really good! I also had a Nutella martini- I wouldn't call it Nutella but rather chocolate hazelnut martini- it didn't have the richness in flavor that Nutella does. First time here.. started with butternut squash soup was excellent.. the wings also great..and strip steak and rosemary potatoes perfectly cooked to order.. the meat is from Johns meat market in scotch plains which is always excellent quality..my cabernet was very good.. atmosphere comfortable.. our waiter Oleh was truly perfection!! My only criticism is the wait staff wasn't wearing masks and in this present uptick of Covid i think that would have been appropriate and appreciated.. we will return to try more items.. thanks read more

if I could give zero stars I would ! this place has gone to absolute shit. we sat down on a slow night with a group of 10 adults and took 25 minutes to get one round of drinks. the place seems to be run by kids who care more about socializing then serving customers. the food however was good and we did enjoy our drinks but the service staff crushed the experience and we will never come here again. do yourself a favor and go across the lot to saly G's or across the street to the other restaurants that serve drinks. this is unacceptable for a town that doesn't have many options for night life. read more

The food here was nothing far off of amazing. What truly suprise me was the ambience of the establishment, with well-separated barriers that provided a sense of privacy. My boyfriend and I were really looking forward to try Uproot. We made Friday reservations, we were seated right away and loved the aesthetic. I am giving Uproot 3 stars rather than 1 as I enjoyed the drinks and the service. Sadly, the food was mediocre and lifeless. To start we had the ricotta. The ricotta cheese was delicious however the bread they served along with it was barely toasted and cold. We also ordered the corn creme brûlée- weird! The entire thing was cold which was off putting since the sugar was toasted on top. The actual flavors together don't work. For dinner we ordered the skirt steak which was cold. Everything temperature wise didn't seem right. To spend over $100 on a dinner for two people, you would expect it to be excellent. This was not and it's not worth the price.
