Walking in and up the long staircase, proved to be thrilling on a late October evening. There's large paintings that lined the wall and just at the top of the staircase, I saw a skull that looked as though it was sitting at the top - due to my perspective. It was really just sitting on a display table with art and more art. Definitely my vibe. I love art studios and seeing how other artist set up their creative spaces. I don't have any tattoos, but I wanted to go to a tattoo parlor for some new ear piercings, because I knew they would do a great job just from WOM. Looking around, I enjoyed seeing the butterflies in display cases and didn't think too much of all of the animals placed on walls and desks. Juvenal (the artist) told me the owner enjoys taxidermy, and I very slowly accepted that these were real animals. The irony of being able to sit at a museum and draw stuffed animals without a care, but now in this setting seemed eerily fitting. Juvenal did my piercings. They're perfect! I've been wanting to do this for years. I don't have a good excuse to why it took so long. But I know it was the right time. I bled. 0.o Fitting for the setting, eh? They were all cool people, too - Juvenal, Ernie & Tany. We chatted a bit before I left. The whole thing was an experience. The first time she did my eyebrows, I was beyond happy with the results and wanted to continue going to her exclusively. This time, she did not disappoint either! My 9-year-old wanted her ears pierced for her birthday. She's had them pierced before we have taken her to Piercing Pagoda and Claire's, both times she got a keloid. Both times we had to take her piercings out before her ear could heal and resulted in her ear holes closing. We called before we headed over to Upper-Level Ink and asked them if they would be able to pierce her ears since she has had them pierced twice unsuccessfully before. The gentleman who answered the phone was super patient and explained why this happened to her ears and let us know that we should never go anywhere that uses a gun. We made an appointment and took our daughter to get her ears pierced. The process took 20 min, it was near painless, and the gentleman recommended that we clean her ears with salt and warm water twice a day for a month. Not some useless solution like Claires that wouldn't work. 3 months later my daughters ears healed beautifully! I am so happy yelp helped me find this place! read more

Been here twice for piercings. Staff was super friendly and helpful, vibe in here is super unique. When I got irritation/keloid, I went back for advice to treat it and the piercer there at the time was super helpful and even helped me change the earring free of charge. Great place. Absolutely love the vibe in there. I went with my friend to get his ears pierced and while the piercer was doing his thing, he was having a conversation with both of us. It was a super great experience. I was even shown a few tattoo sketches that I really loved-- I will definitely be coming back to get a tattoo. I've only gone here twice and had work by Jason. Let me just say I had a vision of how I wanted my tattoo and Jason made it come true and then some . I knew if I have him some ideas of what I wanted and gave him control of some creativity he would do a good job. My tattoo session started at 2:45 and we ended some time after 9. I was in a lot of pain but Jason put some Spray on my shoulder and I was able to be more at ease .. We all know tats hurt, so that's not surprising. He charges a fair price, but his talent is unbelievable. I will be going back for a few other projects. read more

I didn't get the name of the guy who did my nostril piercing, but he was super nice and kept me informed of how he was going to pierce. Although this place was a little difficult to find, it was well worth the struggle. The place looks super dope with all the decor. The gentlemen who does the piercings is SUPER professional. He seems to be a bit shy but he is super sweet and gentle. I went in for a daith piercing and honestly, I didn't feel a thing! My husband got a couple tattoos from Ernie many years ago before he worked here so when I decided to get my first tattoo with my sister we decided to give him a try. I am so glad I did, he fit us in the same night we decided to go and he did it late even though he already had plans that night. He did beautiful work and designed our tattoo before we got there and did the little tweaks we asked for without complaint or attitude. I felt comfortable even though I was nervous and he was very gentle, it barely hurt. He joked and talked with us the whole time and made it a great time. The whole team there is very welcoming and nice. And the shop itself although a bit hard to find has really neat and unique decor. Loved that they had tvs playing shows to entertain those waiting. I can't wait to get my next tattoos done by Ernie, especially since he also love all things nerdy like LOTR, Harry Potter and Star Wars. I first heard of this place thru an amazing artist that works here, Ernie Alvarado, thru his instagram. I was searching thru artists work online and his stood out to me. I have given myself a few stick n pokes but I was saving my first pro tattoo for Ernie. I went in around November to get a piece done on my back, a tree and cloud from one of the covers of my favorite Modest Mouse album. A geometric outline on my left shoulder blade no color or filling. It was exactly what I wanted. It came out perfect and I love it. And I went into a little shock but he was a huge help in making sure I was okay. No better way to pay tribute to my favorite band than a bitchin awesome tattoo! I came in about a week ago to get a cover up of one of my stick n poke mistakes and he covered it up perfectly! I got my daughter's face on my finger, her name is Rio and she's a calico/tabby cat mix. I highly recommend him to anyone in the valley looking for an artist you can trust. Ma boi Ernie! Ernie is the best tattoo artist in the IE! Not only are his prices great but the artistic touch he adds to every piece is true talent.

I found about this little shop by complete accident and I couldn't be happier. The first thing I noticed is Tanya responding quickly and effortlessly coming up with new ideas on improving what I wanted. She had three different designs and I was having trouble picking just one. I have half my arms and a leg covered so I'm always seeing different artists. (Tattoo artists get flooded with messages and calls so getting sidetracked is completely understandable.) Tanya is incredible helpful and talented. During the whole tattoo she made me feel incredibly welcomed and comfortable. She does amazing work and you could see her passion and wanting to improve her already outstanding work during the process. I highly recommend going to her for line work although her Instagram shows she can bring many different ideas to life. I will definitely continue going to her in the future! Highly recommend her. She quickly became my favorite tattoo artist. Clean and welcoming shop Knowledgable group of people running it I have nothing bad to say about this place 10/5 stars if I could read more
