The lines are uneven, the thickness is inconsistent, and the geometric elements are crooked and poorly aligned. The shading is patchy and inconsistent, with areas that look unfinished and overworked. There are multiple OBVIOUS imperfections that should have been addressed before considering the tattoo finished. What made the experience even worse was the artist's attitude when I returned to discuss the possibility of a retouch. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he was rude and made me feel uncomfortable. He also made insulting comments about the amount of tip I gave him. A tip is at the customer's discretion and should never be used as a reason to insult or disrespect a customer. I paid for a permanent piece of artwork and expected professionalism, attention to detail, and basic respect. Instead, I was left with a tattoo that I'm unhappy with, an uncomfortable experience, and the possibility of having to spend even more money with another artist to correct the work. I would not recommend getting a polynesian tattoo here, the reason I came back to this spot is because of Gary, he did me a solid for doing a tiny dragon behind my ear. And for the artist that said he could have charged me more, but instead gave me a discount, buddy..... look at your work! This does not cost $2,000. I would have been more happy to get turned down and I mean, come on, if this ain't your forte and can't do these types of design, then just say so! I could have gone somewhere else and find an artist that is actually specializing in Polynesian tattoo. The studio is easy to find, very clean, and comfortable. Jadyn is very conscientious and accommodating. I also really liked that he was fairly perfectionistic in stencil placement and in checking how the design was looking - really important bc he uses a lot of straight lines in his work! I absolutely recommend him, and I hope he gets lots of clients. Also, a big plus for the studio location: it's near some good and quick food options (always good when you're getting tattooed) like servandos, in n out, and wake cafe.

Walking in and up the long staircase, proved to be thrilling on a late October evening. It was really just sitting on a display table with art and more art. Definitely my vibe. I love art studios and seeing how other artist set up their creative spaces. I don't have any tattoos, but I wanted to go to a tattoo parlor for some new ear piercings, because I knew they would do a great job just from WOM. Looking around, I enjoyed seeing the butterflies in display cases and didn't think too much of all of the animals placed on walls and desks. Juvenal (the artist) told me the owner enjoys taxidermy, and I very slowly accepted that these were real animals. The irony of being able to sit at a museum and draw stuffed animals without a care, but now in this setting seemed eerily fitting. Juvenal did my piercings. They're perfect! I've been wanting to do this for years. I don't have a good excuse to why it took so long. But I know it was the right time. I bled. 0.o Fitting for the setting, eh? They were all cool people, too - Juvenal, Ernie & Tany. We chatted a bit before I left. The whole thing was an experience. He said he didn't know, which was perfectly fine, but the way he responded afterward left me wondering if he was being sarcastic or mocking me. It felt unnecessary, unprofessional, and honestly made me hesitant to return. These days it seems like you can't ask anything without someone turning it into something political, and that's not what I came in for. I did go back for a second visit, and that experience was completely different -- much more easygoing. I guess it really just depends on who you get.
