My hubby got an absolute work of art on his arm from Corey Miller in April to celebrate his graduation with a Master's degree. Corresponding with Sarah was very easy and she nailed down a time that would work for us since we live out of state. Check in was simple when we got there. He had to fill out some forms including a Covid form. They were very nice about me coming and going because i didn't want to sit there for 5 hours. Corey drew directly on his arm instead of using a stencil. No one else could have done a tattoo as awesome as Corey did. Hubby is thrilled with it, and everyone who sees it asks about it. So I decided to treat myself somewhat on a whim for my birthday and called this shop to see if any walk ins were available. The front desk girl, Chloe was super sweet and super helpful and got me set up with Alex, who turned out to be an absolutely talented phenomenal artist (but then again they all were!) I went in pretty much set on what I wanted and placement. I got Haku the dragon from spirited away on my left shoulder and I'm SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY WITH IT. Alex did an amazing job and filled in every single detail amazingly. I'm so in love with the work. There is one reason why I took a star off though. I'm a very understanding person. Especially when it comes to an artist and their work so I tend to not get worked up about prices. However, Alex disclosed to me he charged $180 an hour. I guess I was under the false impression that it would take about 3 hours max just because it isn't the biggest. Of course you don't want to rush art. That isn't what I'm saying. However, I did sort of feel like it could have been done a bit quicker and felt he was sort of taking his sweet time with it in order to charge me more. I ended up paying $650 (not including tip) and I honestly felt that it was a bit steep. I felt somewhat cheated I will admit that. It's a bittersweet thing because of how amazing I felt the work was but then part of me also felt a little over charged. read more

I can't speak to their ability to tattoo but from a customer service standpoint this place is TERRIBLE!! I emailed them because they are closer to my mom than my current tattoo artist and we want matching watercolor tattoos. I looked at their web page prior to emailing them. In the email I sent pics of what we wanted and asked who at their shop could do the best watercolor work if any. The reply from "Sarah" basically refused to help me and said "pick one or two artists" and we can go from there. She even went so far as to say her recommendation would be "random". NO, IT WOULD NOT BE RANDOM. YOU WORK AT THE SHOP, SEE THEIR ART AND WHAT THEY ARE GOOD AT. That is far from RANDOM. Now me picking an artist without seeing samples of their watercolor skills.... THAT IS RANDOM!! The Email exchange got worse when she started talking down to me trying to explain how to pick an artist..... after I had mentioned I have 20 tattoos.... come on....REALLY?!? I have 20 tattoos on my body from a variety of shops and NEVER IN MY LIFE have I had a shop employee not been able to tell me who the best person for the job would be!! In fact my last two tattoos the owner of the shop cherry picked my artist for me and I love both of my pieces I've gotten from her. read more

Neil Wilson is a phenomenal artist. He did cover work for me over a 40+ year old tattoo. If you hadn't known there was a tattoo under it originally, you'd never know. I walked in to make an appointment to get a tattoo on my shoulder. The tattoo was a little less than the size of my iPhone 11 (about 5.5 inches top to bottom and 2 inches across). The tattoo was a tree, nothing crazy at all. The guy who gave me the ink name started with an O (I forget his full name) but the whole time he was being rude and idk why. On top of that while making the actual appointment he obviously didn't care about it anything I was asking about the tattoo at all, he kept saying stuff talking about how he's right and idk what I was talking about?? Like bro, it's my tattoo, if I got something to ask then ur the artist, you should listen to me and educate me especially if I'm talking about the size and placement on my shoulder. He didn't give me an $ estimate on how much it would be, only that it would take about 2 hours, in the end it took 2 hours 20minutes. Then bro charged me 650$!!! I tipped him 50$ (just because I work in the service industry so I always tip) so I paid a total of 700$ which is absolutely ridiculous. Overall, go somewhere else if u want an artist who actually will talk to u about your ink and will actually tell u how much it is and not rip u off. My other arm is fully wrapped from wrist to elbow and that was 700$ just for reference. I purposely am not putting a picture up because I do not trust the tattoo guy who's name starts with an O. The tattoo was good but easily should've been 400$ MAX and the experience was absolutely terrible. read more

Got these bad boys done by the amazing Neil Wilson!! I did a lot of research before choosing an artist, and when I cam across Six Feet Under and browsed the different tattoo artists, I saw that Neil did a lot of beautiful skull work so I was super confident that he was the person to go to. Got the sternum piece in February of 2017. Once I was booked, I met up with Neil at the shop a few days before my appointment and I brought in a reference picture of the foliage and wanted to add the skull to it. Neil put together this awesome design and added the flowers plus some other unique touches. It came out amazing and healed well. It was a painful area to get tattooed, but Neil was super great about taking breaks and making sure not to work on the most painful spots for too long at a time. He was extremely respectful and professional as well. Got the skeleton holding the cat in January 2019 and once again, Neil did amazing work. I brought in the Skelton for reference and he drew up the rest, plus he added his own twist to it to make it a unique piece for me of course. Love it!! Also, this seems like a small detail, but worth mentioning... When he drew it out and transferred the finished sketch to my skin, he added the hand horns separately to ensure it was proportionate and looked okay regardless if my arm was moving or resting. Attention to detail to the max - so rad!!!! Definitely recommend Neil or any other artist at Six Feet Under! read more

My husband and I flew from Minneapolis to get tattoos done by Corey, what a honor. With LA traffic we were a hour late but Corey totally understood and didn't mind at all. His assistant Sarah was such a ball of positive energy and so fun to talk to. Once Corey got things drawn he went to work on my tattoo, we chit chatted a bit but I ended up falling asleep lol. He did a phenomenal job! He did my husbands tattoo free hand, which he trusted him completely to do. I am shocked at some of the bad reviews because I have been here a few times and have been treated with nothing but respect and professionalism. As soon as you walk in you are always greeted usually by Jason and this guy is such a sweetheart and he goes out of his way to make you happy and get you with the right tattoo artist and hook you up with an appointment.If you are looking to get tattooed by Corey which I was,you are going to have to wait but that comes with the territory. I wanted my tattoo on my birthday but wasn't able to get it done until a month after but that didn't bother me at least I was getting it done by him and it gave me more time to add to the tattoo fund. Lol. On the day of,I got my tattoo by Corey and the rest of the tattoo artists were very professional, funny, attentive. I loved that Corey took all my ideas and added his own flare and free handed it on my arm. This guy is a genius.The guys made me feel at home. They offered me beverages and even offered to get me Starbucks. I met Corey's wife and kids when the came in to visit him, they we very sweet and kind as well. I'm am beyond pleased with my experience at this shop! Everyone there was super friendly, professional, helpful and no attitudes. Jason was very helpful the entire time, when I came in with my sister he greeted us and assessed our needs quickly. He guided us to the books and then let us know the artists hourly rate. My first tattoo was unfortunately botched at another shop (see my reviews if you want to know where) and by recommendation of Jason and by looking at his book, I consulted with Neil. He let me know the error of what had went wrong with the original work, what he could do to fix it, finish it and approximately how long it would take. Thanks to Jason I was able to get scheduled promptly (about 2 weeks out). Neil drew up my stencil quickly and contrary to other reviews, his line work is impeccable... Mind you, my tattoo has an incredible amount of tiny detail (lace) so I have lots of room to talk if the truth was otherwise. I got to watch Corey draw out a freehand tattoo, which was awesome! My advice to anyone who is considering having some work done here but maybe second guessing it because of the negative reviews: come in for yourself... Think for yourself and form your own opinion. Good tattoos are not cheap but that's why you can break them up into sessions. As for people who complain about ink coming out during the healing process, do your research and you'll find that this has a lot to do with A. How it's cared for during the healing process and B. What part of the body it's on (wrists, fingers, and feet tend to fade faster). read more

Six Feet Under hands down is the BEST TATTOO SHOP EVER. My wife and I sit with Kevin Childs. She and I feel and conversate with Kevin as if he has been one of our long time friends, yet we only see him when we get work done. We also have had the privilege of meeting Corey Miller (owner / tattoo God) while sitting with Kevin. I was literally starstruck just by seeing him inter the studio. When Corey noticed I was looking he came over and introduced himself to my wife and I. I couldn't even talk I was lost for words. When reflecting on meeting Corey I will always remember how sincere, nice and courteous he was. In other words, there should be a picture of Corey underneath "humble" in the Webster Dictionary. Im honestly surprised to have seen and read the negative review posted in which Kevin Childs is mentioned. Granted, everyone has their own opinion based on their life experiences. However, I thought the words expressed were very harsh and contradict everyone of my experiences in the Six Feet Under studio or via telephone. In regards to tattoo work, I am very anal about studio cleanliness, atmosphere and the artists who perform work on me. I've visited many studios when searching for an artist and have turned right around right back out after taking one step in. In some cases, I didnt even get one step in because, simply opening the door and taking one whiff of a studio tells it all! If you're wondering what a clean studio smells like. I recommend you visit Six Feet Under. I've been in some clean studios Six Feet Under is the cleanest. In addition to cleanliness, the staff and vibe at Six Feet Under have raised the bar for their competitors in my opinion. The first time and all the other times Ive entered Six Feet Under customer service was and is on point! The best way to describe it is like 5:30 a.m. customer service at Starbucks. Not once have I ever walked into a tattoo studio and have been greeted immediately except for my experiences at six Feet Under. Not one person in the studio whether it's the receptionist, apprentice, tattoo artist or owner Corey Miller himself by no way shape or form is too cool to address you. In other words, I've never had to take a shower after leaving Cory's studio to specifically wash the ego off of me. I walked into their studio one day and was greeted by Sarah. I told her what I wanted to get done. She was super nice and told me Corey's schedule was really full but she would call me in a couple weeks. She never did call me so I called the shop. She said to email her the art I was thinking of and that I could bounce ideas off of her. She said to call back in two months. As I waited I emailed her the different ideas I had. She never responded to any of my emails. I had to call the studio and ask her if she was getting my emails. She said she was getting them but just hadn't had a chance to reply. Finally the two months was up and I called the studio again. This time I was actually able to set a date and time for Corey to tattoo me. It was going to be three months. I also had set an appointment the next day with Henry. I should note that both tattoos were going to be cover ups of old tattoos. I have quite a few chronic illnesses that I have to deal with. I let this be known to Sarah. A week before my appointment I was in San Diego getting Ketamine treatments for pain. I was also going through medication withdrawals so I felt really bad. I called the studio and told Sarah that I was pretty sick but still excited about my tattoos. I don't remember why but I started to cry on the phone and instead of consoling me she hung up on me! I waited 10 minutes so I could compose myself then called back. Sarah said we somehow got disconnected which I knew wasn't true but I didn't want to make a big deal about it. Anyways two days before my appointment I had to be hospitalized. I was devastated. I had been waiting for months for these tattoos and now I wasn't going to be able to get them. I called the studio and told the guy who picked up the phone that I was being hospitalized and would not be able to make my appointments. A few weeks later when I was feeling better I called the studio so I could get back on their schedule. Sarah said that because I canceled last time that both artists were hesitant to put me back into their schedules. They said they would think about it. I asked Sarah if I could come in and show Corey what I wanted. I made an appointment that I thought was going to be us talking for a bit but he had a tattoo appointment with someone else at that same time and only took a quick look but said he would do it. He is not a personable fellow and seemed very cold and unfriendly. I was excited once again. Sarah said to call the shop in about a month to see what their schedules looked like. I called her and she said she would call me back. I waited for a call and I even sent an email asking if she was going to call. Finally it had been a little over a month so I called the shop. She then said that both artists had changed their mind and didn't want to do cover up work. I was beyond sad and a little angry that I had to go through all the calling and waiting just to get told that they changed their minds. I tried to talk to Sarah on the phone and asked her if they could please do it. She basically hung up on me. I sent a detailed email apologizing for any wrong doing on my part and if she would please call back. Then in a last ditch effort I wrote Sarah, Corey and Henry physical letters and mailed them to the shop. I look back at it now and see how desperate I acted but I had been to a few bad tattoo shops and I trusted Corey would do a good job. Same with Henry. I wanted to be certain that whoever tattooed me next would do a good job. I am still hurt with all that they put me through of waiting for months and then saying she would call and never did. Plus never answering my emails. They acted extremely unprofessional. Just the way they had their scheduling set up. You were made to wait a month or two before you would get an actual date of when you could come in. They never called you. You were made to call them again and again. Then once you finally got a date you had to wait months until it was your time. I am just disappointed and sad. I eventually found another artist (who wasn't going to charge me an arm and a leg) to do my cover up. I am not happy with it though. In fact I hate it. I just imagine that if Corey would have done it that it would be so much nicer. There are a lot of great tattoo artists out there that do just as good of a job as Corey but they don't charge nearly the amount he charges. I believe he is overrated and feels he can charge whatever he wants because he is "Corey Millar" and people want to get tattooed by him. I didn't even know who he was until someone who was doing work on the house recommended him because Corey was his cousin. Anyways it was a complete waste of time and energy. I felt I wasn't treated with the respect I deserved. Save yourself the heartache and go somewhere else. It's just not worth it. read more
