I was looking for an artist to tattoo my beloved dog who just recently passed away. Vanessa exceeded my expectations with how my tattoo turned out. She is very professional and makes sure you are comfortable throughout the entire process. We worked together to develop a piece that was exactly what I was looking for. I was also in and out of her studio in a timely matter and the price was very fair for what I received. I highly recommend entrusting Vanessa with your pet tattoo if this is the style you are looking for! read more

I reached out to Vanessa for a fine line floral wrap and she did amazing. She is truly an incredible artist and it shows in her work! I noticed her meticulous detail while she was working and appreciated the time she took perfecting every stroke. She took my inspo (which was mostly her work) and created a beautiful piece of art on my arm. Thanks so much! read more

Getting my first tattoo was such an emotional experience for me, and Vanessa made me feel completely comfortable from start to finish. Her place is very calming, and she has her own place which made it so much easier for me. This tattoo was in remembrance of my husband, who passed away and she truly listened to everything I wanted and the meaning behind it. Vanessa was incredibly kind, patient, and comforting. Her hand was so light that I barely felt a thing during the tattoo. I absolutely love how my first tattoo turned out, and I'm so grateful for the care and compassion she showed me throughout the entire experience. I will definitely be coming back for another tattoo in the future. read more

She's amazing!!! If you're thinking about it, please book! I was looking for a female artist who specializes in floral line work, pet portraits, and photos of it once it healed. That's what brought me here. Most tattoos places have "hardcore" environment: redish walls, skeletons, rock music, etc. plus an open concept that leaves no privacy. It can be intimidating and honestly a bit uncomfortable as it's not really my vibe. She has her own private studio, clean, and welcoming. She's warm, clearly passionate about her work, and took the time to ask about sizing, placement, and design, offering her own suggestions too. I got a floral tattoo on my forearm, my first piece in years. She made sure I was comfortable, played relaxing music, and worked quickly with a technique that minimized the pain. When I saw the finished tattoo, I was blown away! better than I'd expected. I've already booked my next session with her. If you're on the fence, just book it. Highly recommend to friends and family! *note* if you're still unsure please check out her google page too! She has more reviews there :) read more

She is so nice & the atmosphere is clean and calm. Such a nice change from a typical "tattoo parlor" so that was refreshing. Took the time to listen to what I'd like. Loved the results & I'll definitely be going back read more

I had such a great experience with Vanessa. From the very beginning, she was super responsive and easy to communicate with, which immediately made me feel comfortable. She really takes the time to go over your ideas and all the little details, making sure everything feels right before starting. Nothing felt rushed at all--she's patient, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in the process. I really appreciated that she gave honest, professional opinions about what would work best and what wasn't necessary, without ever being pressuring. The whole session was very professional but also relaxed at the same time, which is honestly the perfect combo when getting a tattoo. On top of that, her fine line work is absolutely incredible--clean, delicate, and beautifully done. You can tell she truly cares about her craft and her clients. Highly recommend Vanessa if you're looking for an artist who listens, guides you, and delivers an amazing experience. read more

Gave myself a Valentine's Day gift and I have zero regrets. I have another tattoo by a different artist that was supposed to be fine line but it definitely did not turn out that way! When I decided to get my son's writing done, I made sure to search for a fine line artist. Vanessa popped up and she was local so I decided to give her a try. I love how my tattoo turned out and I hope to return soon! read more

First time client, and won't be my last visit. Vanessa is extremely professional, well organized and takes her craft seriously. She is creative, thoughtful and easy to work with. Her space is quaint, comfortable and appropriate for the work she does. I have many tattoos (from other artists) but hers is by far the best quality and because she is light handed, not nearly as painful as past ones. Highly recommend! read more

so long story short my friend and i both decided to get tattoos, when looking on instagram we found The Tattoo Gemologist and let me tell you she is the sweetest most gentle tattoo artist i've met. I think the whole process for me was around an hour and a half with the total coming to around $80.. i can't remember the exact number but i totally think it was worth it, she's still new and does take her time but I appreciate that plus i honestly started to fall asleep on the table just with how relaxing the environment is! if you're thinking of getting your first tattoo or are a little nervous to walking into a giant tattoo parlor i highly recommend coming to her. read more

did my tattoo 3 months ago and is completely faded I tried getting a touch up but she tried to charge me to get it retouched and I could be wrong but I feel like her mistake should be taken care of by her and I shouldn't have to pay for it. To your reply, regardless of it being fine line or not to my research "fine line tattoos" last up to a decade not 3 months to fade. And yea you gave me a touch up to a small faded part of another tattoo artist that has less time doing tattoos yet look better now than the one I received from you. After care as you mention was done the way your instructions showed. No my error.I think for the future if you make a mistake just own up to it and maybe give a little longer than 1 month for a free touch up. read more

I had such a great experience with Vanessa! A friend of mine recommended her to me and I'm so glad she did! I followed Vanessa's tattoo Instagram and immediately fell in love with her style of tattooing! She's very responsive via social media, which made it very easy for me to consult about the tattoo I wanted without having to be there in person. I was very indecisive about the specific tattoo and specific location I wanted, but Vanessa was very patient and understanding both online and in person! She gave me time and space to finalize the piece and location without any rush or any judgement. She has a soft touch and made sure that I was comfortable throughout the entire experience! She even told me that I might've dozed off during the tattoo session hahaha. I will definitely come back and bring some friends along :) read more

I had such a wonderful experience with Vanessa! I've spent two years trying to figure out the design of my first tattoo, and decided on a simple piece in my late grandfather's writing. The next decision was - who was I going to trust to complete this work of art on my body!? I spent hours on pinterest and instagram, and stumbled on Vanessa's work. Not only is her artistry precise and dainty, but her customer service was impeccable. She was accommodating and thorough in the entire process, and made me feel so comfortable and welcoming. The tattoo came out beautifully and is healing quite nicely. So happy with my choice... can't wait to see her again for my next tattoo! read more
