I cannot recommend Trevor & N9ne Lives Collective enough. My husband selected Trevor for his first large project and he truly hit the jackpot! Trevor is a fantastic artist who really cares for his craft and his client. His art work is truly some of the best I have ever seen. My husband is tall and they worked together to cover my husband's full outter arm in two back to back days. When Trevor realized they needed more time to make this project perfect, he was honest and communicative but what we appreciated the most was that he didn't rush through to finish the tattoo, he spent time to make sure each section was perfect and up to his standard, really caring for the client and what he will be wearing on his body forever. That to me is worth the money. You truly get what you pay for. We will always respect honesty and integrity and what he did accomplish in two days was A LOT! The shop was very clean, and I really enjoyed the interactions with the staff when I came to drop off food. I will recommend Trevor & N9ne Lives to everyone! This is an incredible spot, we are so grateful to have found it. They have found long term clients in us for sure. read more

If you try and book your appointment through their website don't waste your time. Even though you will get multiple email and website confirmations nobody pays attention to it. First off, this place is beautiful, love the aesthetic, it just felt clean, and their bathroom was clean too, which should be the standard and did not dissapoint. I recently visited this place to get tattooed by Mikayla, when it comes to tattoos, I get anxious no matter how many times I've been tattooed, but Mikayla was cool, we made small talk and I felt very comfortable. Got a tattoo with Cat Castro. Was charged a 50% deposit up front of $1,400. I wanted to get a large lion tattoo on my chest that was supposed to take the whole day. The whole day rate was $2,800. The price was steep, but I really liked Cat's work and hoped for the best. When I eventually had my appointment, it was far from what I expected or hoped from an artist that charged such a premium rate. Maybe Cat was having an off day, but I was greatly disappointed by the customer service and work that I received. 1) I arrived to our appointment and sat in the lobby for 30+ minutes until Cat came out with a design that didn't look like anything I wanted during the consultation phase. 2) While she tried to design something, we we weren't on the same page and things weren't moving succinctly between us. The process was a lot slower than I'd expect from someone who was charging me a premium rate for her time. 3) In the middle of the enhancement of the script, Cat disappeared for an hour or so and didn't say anything, but then I found out afterwards, she took a lunch break. I understand she needed a lunch break, but I just wish she communicated that to me. I just sat in the chair, waiting for her, hungry myself, wondering where she went. 4) During the enhancement of my script, I felt like it took a lot longer than it should have. It took 2-3 hours (with a long break from Cat in the middle of it) to tattoo the script. The work that she did was very simple and should have taken at most an hour or so. 5) After we decided to only do the script enchantment that day, Cat stated that she would design something new for me and would contact me but I waited several weeks without word. After all this, I've asked N9ne Lives Collective to compromise with me, but they've chosen not to. Given everything that happened above, I did not want to pay Cat Castro or N9ne Lives more money to tattoo my body. I paid $1,400 for this tattoo and I believe that is extremely overpriced. I could have gotten this tattoo done by many other tattoo artists for $200-300 or less. Given that fact, I asked N9ne Lives Collective and Cat Castro to refund me for a portion of the deposit. I asked them to compromise and refund me $700 of the $1,400. $700 for this tattoo... that could have cost signficantly less, is a great compromise in my opinion. read more

I had the best experience getting tatted at N9ne Lives Collective by Mikayla (@Inkbymik). The atmosphere and shop was welcoming and very clean. It was probably the best tattoo experience I've had out of my 5 tattoo shops I have gone to in SoCal. Mikayla was so sweet and welcoming to me and my partner. She took her time with our stencils and even had the patience to work with our indecisiveness. She did not pressure me to make decisions! I really appreciated that. Ive had 2 of my tattoos done at n9ne lives so far, one by Cat and one by Trevor. Both artists are incredibly talented and they are hands down my favorite tattoos to date. Trevor will be finishing up a sleeve for me and I can't wait to see what else he comes up with. On top of the artistry he's very accommodating and makes sure to take care of his clients. Definitely recommend looking into them for portrait style and the more difficult/intricate tattoos that require more skill. read more

Cat Castro is def not experienced in melanated skin. I wish she would have said so before she put color on my skin, my tattoo has started fading, , even with me adding lotions, caring for it, I take vitamins and everything to take care of my skin. Absolute waste of money. Also, I'll never forget how she took about 2 freaking hours to actually start because she was stenciling my tattoo that I had already sent like a month prior to the appointment. My appt was for like noon and she didn't start until like 2 pm. WORSE EXPERIENCE OF MY FKN LIFE . Save your money go somewhere cheaper bc the type of work they do here is really bad. Go here and ask for Mikayla (inkbymik) if you're looking to get a fucked up tattoo by someone with shitty bedside manners, horrible customer service, and better yet, leave in tears! So extremely rude and made for a terrible first tattoo experience. She doesn't even try to hide the fact that she was clearly annoyed by her clients whenever trying to make small talk. She was shown exactly what was wanted yet still misspelled the tattoo. Went back to get it fixed after being left on read for several days by her, and she had a condescending attitude, rude tone and tried to put the blame on everyone but herself. As a tattoo artist it is YOUR job and YOUR responsibility to ensure what you're putting on your client is what they want. You are literally getting paid to do that yet still blame the client and even the guest on how your shitty work is somehow their fault? Worst tattoo experience! I got a tattoo with Cat. She did an AMAZING job! It came out so much better than I thought it would. She talented and she know it's... that's why I think this happens. I had a 12pm appointment time. She was just over an hour late with no excuse and no apology. It took another half hour for her to even talk to me. She took the shape of the space for the tattoo and told me to go have lunch (good idea honestly) and I took a while to go eat InNOut. Came back and Still didn't talk to me. One of the other artists gave put on captain America civil war for us waiting. Didn't speak to me from when I went to lunch to the final fight scene. Also never saw my design until she was trying to line it up and stencil. I had to stop her and ask to change it because there was something still in it that I explicitly didn't want. We started tattooing at 4pm (appt. @ 12). Periodically she liked getting up and walking away without saying anything. One point stopped to play with a kid of another artist. She was a very nice person but heavily lacked the communication. Got out about 1230am and she didn't want to tell me how to take care of my FIRST tattoo. She handed me a paper with some badly written instructions. The second skin bandage she put on wasn't in the slight air/water tight. A+ tattoo skills. B+ small talking. F in communication. D bedside manner. Would I go back? Yeah. Would I pay as much? No. Overall it felt like she was doing me a favor. read more
