My Route 91 memorial piece completed by the amazing Mark Salinas!
    Natalie S.

I got a very personal tattoo done by Mark Salinas and it is the most perfect thing in the world to me! Mark is great, he's very calm, patient, and so very talented. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking to get a tattoo whether it be your first tattoo or 10th tattoo. The shop is clean, comfortable, and a chill atmosphere. Mark is amazing and I am so glad I chose him to complete this piece for me!

There weren't many people around to help because it was busy so you have to track someone down. When you're ready to pay you head towards the front of the store and they check you out. There is an important difference between preserving historical artifacts in a museum for educational purposes & selling these items for profit. Seeing merchandise associated with a regime responsible for unimaginable atrocities being treated as collectibles for sale was deeply unsettling. Everyone can make their own decisions about where to shop, but this is something potential customers should be aware of before supporting this business.

Parking is metered and on the street. $1.00 gets you an hour. Trust me, you won't need it. I walked in the "gallery" and was hit with an overwhelming odor! It smelled like mildew and a convalescent home. It was awful, but I was already here so I decided to give it a chance. The front of the store is empty with an exception of a few canvas paintings- not properly displayed- but on the floor. To the right are some custom framing. I've seen a better selection and pricing at Micheal's Arts and Crafts store. In the next room is where the paintings were hung. They're all a mess as well. In no way do they display new talent or showcase art. The place is dusty and dirty. The staff barely spoke. This can hardly be categorized as a gallery. It's more like an art studio/rec room. Classless and lacking any sophistication. Typical Riverside.

Sometimes it's not just the framing! The word "Gallery"…read moredescribes a place for exhibiting and selling art but really it's so much more. For me it's the experience - the time spent looking, studying, and simply browsing a collection is worth gold to me. Chemers Gallery in Tustin is that place that offers that whole experience. Every time I go in there, which I admit isn't near often enough but probably more than some, I delight in "finds". I have a fairly decent collection of artwork and it's not confined to paintings. I've ceramics, sculptures, glasswork, pottery, photographs, and a few weird pieces of found object works as well. Quite a few of those pieces have come from this jewel of a gallery so close to home. The owner Karen, and her friendly staff have always allowed me the luxury to simply roam. I have to walk through numerous times to take everything in. I get distracted by one or two pieces and then turn around and find something else completely unexpected. And, it becomes mine. I love this place!! I am a retired healthcare designer and Chemers was the art consultant on a few of our firms healthcare projects. What I enjoyed was the chosen works were always different from the predictable works too often seen in healthcare spaces and, they always complimented the concepts of our interiors. I also love the shows and exhibitions they often host here. Often soliciting works from local artists, craftspeople, and even foodies, these "pop-up" shows are always good for gifts, wearables, and sometimes taste-ables! And if I'm lucky, I often walk away with a new piece! I always look forward to stopping in on these shows and could spend an hour or more perusing. Do yourself a favor and visit this gallery - oh, and of course, don't forget, they also do excellent framing!!

If you purchase a ticket to the Cheech, the RAM is included in your ticket price, or if you start at the RAM, the Cheech will be included that day. I came to the RAM this time around, specifically, for the 60 Miles East exhibit. This exhibit ends on 4/12, so make sure to swing by before then if you want to catch it. The exhibit contained many flyers, pictures, art, and even ticket stubs that brought me back to my childhood. It was in a clean and open space that made the experience enjoyable. This exhibit takes up only one room and there are other spaces to check out for additional art exhibits. I did notice less art, this time around, than in previous visits and many open spaces/walls were not taken up. Overall, I'm glad I got to enjoy this exhibit, before it ends, and it really highlights the Inland Empire's music scene as an important piece of diverse culture. Enjoy!

What stood out just as much as the artwork was the building itself, which is beautiful and full of character. I especially loved the courtyard, which provided a peaceful space to slow down and take everything in. The gift shop was also excellent, with a great selection of unique items that felt carefully chosen rather than generic museum souvenirs. Between the art, architecture, and atmosphere, it was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon appreciating creativity in a truly beautiful setting.
