The oxtails are amazing. I make oxtails in my slow cooker but when you don't have 12 or more hours to dedicate to cooking, go to the Uppa Yard and have some soul food. read more

Love Jamaican food, they have some excellent curry goat here. I also love the jerk chicken and oxtails. Unfortunately I eat everything too fast before I think about taking a picture. You order at the counter but they do have tables if you would like to eat it there, but I usually get my food to go read more

Love they food just let me get more jerk sauce if you looking for good Jamaican food come here

Food was okay I went in hoping to sit down and its not obviously a place to sit down. It was very hot inside, no AC and kind of uncomfortable. Seems like they cater more to their take out business read more

This is a sorry ass place I placed a order at 4:05pm and it's after 5:30pm and my stuff still isn't done. The lady behind the counter is very unprofessional and doesn't have a care in the world for anyones time or money. This place is very over hyped and I hope they get a better online system and time for when the food will actually be ready. read more

Amazing food that touched my soul. Original from nola and it was nice to taste a bit of spice in my food. We order goat meat and jerk chicken, literally the best stop in town. read more

Food is excellent every-time. I come from Michigan and I make a huge effort to eat at Uppa Yard i usually get a oxtail dinner. However the wait keeps getting longer and longer. Food is good but be prepared to wait over 45 minutes for your food. Today I ordered my food at 1:00 pm and at 2:00 pm it was not ready. Due to red beans and rice shortage and no one told me about this shortage until they were ready to start platting the food. Frustrating. read more

Y'all sleep on this joint 3rd year same food same taste same portion size like no other the reason why I can't diet ‍

Taking into account we are in milwaukee. It's a true yardie restaurant. Half the things on the menu are never made but that's typical for good Jamaican restaurants. Service is average. Again, something you expect from good Jamaican restaurants. If you ever go to a Jamaican restaurant and they have everything available on their menu with great customer service, the food will be terrible. If you have Jamaican roots and looking for real yardie food, come here. read more

A gentleman at work gave me a flyer about a new Jamaican restaurant in Milwaukee. I looked at the flyer, did not recognize the address so I left it on my desk. The following week, I was craving some spicy food but couldn't find this flyer :( A couple of weeks later, I was driving from work to my hotel on this new route that I stumbled upon. (There is always some kind of construction on the highway, so I try to take backstreets..lol). As I was driving, I caught a glimpse of a Jamaican flag... I made a quick turn around and saw that it was a Jamaican restaurant. I was inner fat girl ecstatic!!! I think i went into the restaurant with a big grin on my face. I went in, ordered and was very please with the price. I picked up a flyer and saw that it was the same establishment that the gentleman for work had given me. As a matter of fact he was there :). I usually get the large portion which is good enough for 2 servings. I have been back there every week since then. They do take phone orders, and the staff is efficient, courteous and professional read more

Best Jamaican food in Milwaukee. Love everything I've had from here. Great curry Goat, jerk pork a bit too fatty. Make sure to anticipate a wait. I recommend to order online first. Tip: do not usually have fish or soup , made to order. Patty and coco bread are not fresh. Everything else is fire read more

Been going to this spot for years. I love their food...from the curry chicken to the jerk egg rolls to the ox tails--it's all so flavorful! Food is always hot and fresh. I had a small problem with my order and it was taken care of just like that. Hassle free and very professional. Oh, and the desserts.... delicious, especially the banana pudding! read more

The rice and peas was the highlight of my meal - cooked perfectly! Reminded me of my mothers. I had the jerk chicken too, which was good but could use some more heat. The price is also fair for the portion of food. Will come back. read more

Uppa Yard - Jerk chicken meal - Caribbean Near Me - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

If you blink, you'll miss this spot. It's more of a carry-out spot but they do have dine-in option. The cashiers and cooks are amazing and always great you with a smile and joke. The smell of Jerk takes over the restaurant (that's how you know it's going to be good). My signature half jerk, half oxtails combo come with rice, beans and cabbage. I believe it's the best Jamaican restaurant on the north side of Milwaukee by far. read more

Update: I miss y'all plates. Food was always Great and NEVER a disappointment. See y'all next summer, I done opened me an acct. just for uppa yard all summer 2022 I'm gonna eat almost everything on the menu read more

Ok. So I just moved here from Atlanta and we have so many Jamaican spots. I was skeptical to try this spot because the food in milwaukee has been pretty disappointing. But the jerk chicken was great especially with the jerk sauce. Beware a 40-1hr wait . I'll be back . Plaintans trash dont get that. read more

Sketch neighborhood, wait times arent short. But the food is worth it, i waited 30mins for the curry chicken. Its worth it.

Ordered in store and waited over an hour for my food to not even get it. The most frustrating part was seeing people who ordered after me in store, receive their food before me. The cashier is extremely rude. This establishment did not seem to follow covid guidelines. Place was packed at times and people were not standing 6 feet apart. read more

Hands down the best and most authentic Jamaican in town. There will be a line before it even opens. Always packed, expect to wait just order and to get food, but it is so worth it. read more

The food is good but the wait is ridiculous also they never answer the phone they remodeled and moved locations but still never answer the phone ... also no one is wearing hair nets ...the people just keep touching their hair... read more

I ordered a Oxtail/Jerk chicken combo...first I was a little disappointed with the wait...but once I got my food I forgot how long 45mns was. It's my understanding the Oxtails were the reason for the longer wait, other than letting me know when I ordered it would take longer I have no complaints. My Oxtails was seasons great, a little spicy but not bad. The Portions was great, and I'll definitely be back. Heard soo many great things I totally understand. (Work on that wait though-almost an hour is pretty long for food) read more

Stew Chicken is amazing ..... I would however love for the cabbage to be cooked a little longer ... Other than that I can eat here all day everyday ... I would also liked if they answered the phone... read more

The ox tail i got was exactly what I was dreaming of when my Lyft driver recommended this place. Spicy was great, rice and beans sopped up the sauce perfectly, and the cabbage was a nice side to calm down the flavor everything else was bringing. In true ox tail fashion, you are going to want to take this to a private spot to enjoy. If you are getting after that meat and cartridge right, people should be appalled watching you eat it. read more

The food is just DELICIOUS...Oxtails are my absolute favorite but the Curry Chicken and Brown Stew Chicken don't disappoint either. Flavor is on point....Portions are phenomenal...Awesome Customer Service (Oliver always greets with a smile)...one of my favorite places in the city. read more

Delicious! Definitely Delicious! Home cooked meals for only 10 bucks. Straight from the pot to the plate. Very friendly employees. Don't expect fast food. It's gonna be a wait. But trust me, It will be worth the wait. I go here at least three times a week. I should own the place by Now! read more

THE BESTTTTT!!!!!! Worth every bit of the wait too!! Every other day they'll have curry shrimp which is amazingly good. The best AUTHENTIC Jamaican food hands down!! read more

I'll wait an hour just for this food it's soooo good. It always crowded..but the owner and the staff works hard! I go there every other week

Never had a chance to stop in it's always busy, but today me and my wife seen you guys open and not as much traffic so we stopped to grab a bite for the first time and it was delicious.I would definitely recommend this place to anybody. read more

First timer, food is really good. Customer service was excellent. Walked in and was greeted right away.

I have been to the restaurant several times, and the customer service and wait times are always horrible. What makes it more irritating is the requirement to wait, while they blast music. The last time I went, I ordered my food online and waited one hour beyond their posted 35 minute wait time. When I approached, the cashier went to the back and I saw her look for my order and when she didn't see the order, she went further to the back out of my site. She came back and lied to my face. Stated they had to drop my rolls and it would be another five or ten minutes. In reality, they never started my order. Her five minutes turned into another 30 minutes. The cashier brings my food and walks away. No thank you, apology, offer of something for the requirement to wait a total of two hours. The taste of the food is hit or miss at times, but it is of no consequence if your customer service and wait times are ridiculous and instead of being truthful, you lie to customers. And since it continues to happen, the restaurant has no care or concern for the customers that patronize their establishment. Where is the owner and his/her requirement for employee training or professionalism? At least you should greet customers, good evening welcome to the UPPA Yard; yes ma'am or no sir, have a great evening, or relay other pleasantries. Yes, they have long lines not because the food is all that, rather the patrons tolerate the behavior. The cashiers' manners are abysmal and the lies surrounding wait times give rise to why I will not return again. I do not believe the numerous five star ratings posted. read more

I ordered peas and rice with curry gravy and a bottle of carrot juice. My food was really fresh then wait was very short. I left a tip for great customer service. read more

Food was okay, even though they played me out of my egg rolls they tasted okay. Customer service on the other hand was very shitty. The wait was ridiculous and the lady at the register had a horrible attitude. Get rid of her or your business will NOT prosper. read more

Im eating and speechless now. Will give a review later. First time here and honestly the best place we have been to since living here... We have found our new spot. Yes...we.. Have... Tried the jerk chicken and brown stew chicken dinners.... First off the portions are up my alley. Its a real deal dinner portion. The food is hot and very fresh. Entrees comes with 2 sides. We had the cabbage mixture and rice and beans with ours. The rice and beans had the gravy over it from the brown stew chicken. Omg what a wonderful thing. I was so glad that i ordered this. Mind you i did not even try the chicken yet at this point being so focused on the rice beans and gravy. The sauce that comes on the side was all that and some. I saw islanders in the line patiently waiting as well. That spoke volumes... This place must be a gem. Funny thing is i placed an order over the phone and waited about 30-35 mintues and people that placed their orders were coming from outside to pick up orders they placed before me. This place is truly work the wait. I cannot say that enough.. Finally!!!! I found my spot!!!! Now i must try the curry chicken!!!!!! read more

Always pack everytime we go here. Lines are long so the wait time is long as well. But staff is friendly and food is great. Oxtail is my favvvv! read more

Best Jamaican food in Milwaukee! (Says my Jamaican husband). They have an excellent selection of authentic Jamaican cuisine and offer combos when you can't decide which delicacy to indulge in for dinner. Meals come in small and large portions. Some our favorites include: Curry Goat, Jerk Chicken (tender and juicy), Ox Tail, & Curry Chicken. These come with rice and peas (not green peas, really they are beans) and steamed cabbage. They have additional sides available such as Patties and Ripe Plantains. As well as, some traditional beverages like Cola Champaign. (We haven't tried the seafood entrees, Jerk Pork, or Brown Stew Chicken yet). The casual restaurant is decorated in Jamaican flag: yellow and green. Primarily it caters to take-out customer's, however they do have a small eat-in area. My only criticism about this place is that they are so busy, it is very difficult to get through over the phone to place an order in advance. Be prepared to wait in line to order upon arrival and then wait about 10 min for your food. read more

The food was (temperature) hot. I had curry chicken ricenbeans, cabbage and cocoa bread. My friend purchased the oxtails. Everything was delicious. Fyi, if you're interested in trying their fish, It takes an hr. I would definitely come back. read more
