    Beef Patties

I found out from a friend that this place hosts karaoke on Wednesday nights. So, I decided to come through. AMBIANCE: The place is very spacious. There's a lot of seating and it's good for a small group setting (4 people). The set up is very chill. You walk in and seat yourself. FOOD: The food was amazing. The Rasta pasta was really flavorful. The serving is HUGE. I had to take a to-go. The pasta quickly became my lunch for the next day. The chicken was well seasoned and the pasta wasn't too oily. The beef patties were good. The meat is nicely packed inside. If I had anything to complain about, it would be that the dough was over fried in my opinion. I like a softer dough when I bite into things. The margarita was a nice addition. The price was $10.40. However, the glass is huge and the drink is strong.

Jerk Cheese Curds (not spicy but delicious!)

Went for the first time recently, and it was an energetic Wednesday night. They have a live DJ and mini small business market on Wednesday evenings, so it was noisier than usual, but also good energy. We started with the Jerk Cheese Curds, which were not spicy as you might expect from the word "jerk," but the seasoning was visible and noticeable on the palate. The batter to cheese ratio was great, allowing the cheese to be the star, and for the most part, they were not greasy. Highly recommend! The beef patties were good, but the pastry shell was too dense with minimal ground beef filling, so they needed sauce to add some flavor and make it easier to eat and swallow. They come with a ranch sauce, but the sweet chili sauce that came with the cheese curds and the oxtail gravy were better options to dip the beef patties in. The Nuff Curry with chicken was tender and had nice flavor. My friend ordered the coconut mashed potatoes as her side dish, and they were AMAZING! They were so creamy and delicious! The Oxtail was really good, and the red beans and rice were fine but on the dry side, so I recommend getting the coconut mashed potatoes as your side or ask for extra oxtail gravy for the red beans and rice. They were out of plantains, so we didn't get to try the sweet fried plantains, and there wasn't dessert options. Overall, I liked the food and the great service we received were enough to go back again. It is definitely worth a visit.

This spot is a Milwaukee gem. We came here for a quick bite to go but ended up staying due to the ambiance. The service was top notch.. Let me tell you, the jerk chicken egg rolls are a winner!!! So tasty and hot. It's a must try. We also had the rum punch which was nice and strong. I will definitely come back to try the other authentic Jamaican dishes. The owner, Dwight, was exceptionally welcoming. 10/10 recommend!!!

If you haven't been here...GO. True authentic Caribbean food. The experience starts at the door with the decor and music and extends to the drinks and food. Met the owner, Dwight. Start from the island. The service was timed appropriately. The atmosphere was so inviting, time wasn't important. If you are looking for food prepared from the heart then you should give Dwight and his place a try. Don't forget to order the famous egg rolls and Rum Punch. Thank me later!!

Best Jamaican egg rolls around . But you gotta come to their spot on N 42nd + Capitol Dr, the restaurant doesn't make the egg rolls the same. They are at least double the size of a traditional egg roll stuffed with Jamaican jerk chicken , cabbage, and more. They are delicious. Haven't tried the oxtail yet but they sell a lot of it. Don't come here in a rush , be prepared to wait in a line .

This is not authentic Jamaican food! The food has no flavor at all. I did not even finish my meal, what a waste.

Food was very bland and unseasoned. A complete waste, I will not be returning. We ordered five different meals and all of them were mediocre.

Amazing Jamaican Food & Even Better People…read more Tried this spot for the first time tonight and it was incredible. We had the jerk ribs and the brown stew chicken with rice, cabbage, corn, and plantains--every single thing was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The chef even surprised us with some jerk rolls, which were so good. Service was excellent from start to finish, and we got to meet the owner, Jessica, who was fun, friendly, and clearly passionate about what she's built. Highly recommend--can't wait to come back!

Butler WI…read moreis not known for a diverse food scene and this Jamaican restaurant is way out of place to start with. The place has a cool lounge vibe and probably the coolest place in Butler WI. My service was friendly and fast. I would have to go with the classic jerked chicken meal as my first time trying the place that comes with jerked chicken, mini hot corn on the cob, rice/peas and cabbage. The cabbage was probably the best from a Jamaican restaurant that I can remember because it was spicy. The corn cob was also very good because it was cooked in a broth of some sort and very different from regular corn on the cob. The rice and peas were also good with some spice but lacking any depth of flavor. The jerked chicken was good with moist meat and that classic dark skin but it needed the jerk sauce on the to get its flavor potential on point. Overall was the food good, yes. Was it the best jerked chicken no because that south side place is still my favorite. Would I go back for more of the menu, definitely.

McCoco's stood out to me so I decided to give it a try. The service was great- it's a small establishment and once we walked in someone immediately greeting us and sat us down. The ambiance was very pleasant. They had pictures of the Caribbean on all the tvs and it felt very tropical Once we were sitting we got a complimentary bowl of soup. It was so warm and perfect for the cold day. I forgot what it was called but it was very delicious. Food I would say overall was good. I was hoping the tostones to be a bit more crispier and a little more garlicky tho /: My mofongo was good too - again missing just a tad more garlic. The meat was well seasoned and very tasty. My boyfriend got the Jibarito and he basically said the same thing about the garlic and crispiness of the tostones and his jibarito sandwich. I would still recommend this place tho! And I would for sure come again to explore the rest of the menu (: 3 1/2 - 4 stars overall

Wow - so glad we ordered this!…read more Ordered via Grubhub and got the arroz con gandeles 2x1 with the bander pepper steak. Both were large portions and absolutely delicious! Tried the Yuca sticks and tostones appetizers and really enjoyed both of them. I'm a big empanada fan so we got some chicken empanadas and they did not disappoint! All told everything we had was fantastic. We will absolutely be back and will have to visit in person one day.
