The food, the service, and the blast back to Jamaica is all worth the trip. Go here, go again and again. You won't be disappointed.

McCoco's stood out to me so I decided to give it a try. The service was great- it's a small establishment and once we walked in someone immediately greeting us and sat us down. The ambiance was very pleasant. They had pictures of the Caribbean on all the tvs and it felt very tropical Once we were sitting we got a complimentary bowl of soup. It was so warm and perfect for the cold day. I forgot what it was called but it was very delicious. Food I would say overall was good. I was hoping the tostones to be a bit more crispier and a little more garlicky tho /: My mofongo was good too - again missing just a tad more garlic. The meat was well seasoned and very tasty. My boyfriend got the Jibarito and he basically said the same thing about the garlic and crispiness of the tostones and his jibarito sandwich. I would still recommend this place tho! And I would for sure come again to explore the rest of the menu (: 3 1/2 - 4 stars overall

Wow - so glad we ordered this!…read more Ordered via Grubhub and got the arroz con gandeles 2x1 with the bander pepper steak. Both were large portions and absolutely delicious! Tried the Yuca sticks and tostones appetizers and really enjoyed both of them. I'm a big empanada fan so we got some chicken empanadas and they did not disappoint! All told everything we had was fantastic. We will absolutely be back and will have to visit in person one day.

Here's a polished, vivid restaurant review you can use:…read more Dining at Antigua Latin Inspired Kitchen is more than just a meal--it's a rich cultural experience that transports you straight to the heart of Latin America. From the moment you walk in, the warm, vibrant atmosphere sets the tone, with inviting décor and subtle music that perfectly complements the cuisine. The menu is a thoughtfully curated celebration of Latin flavors, blending tradition with modern flair. Each dish is beautifully presented and layered with bold, authentic taste. Standout items include their perfectly seasoned meats, fresh seafood options, and house-made sauces that add depth and character to every bite. The balance of spices and textures shows a clear attention to detail and a deep respect for culinary heritage. The drinks are devine heavily inspired by Latin culture. My personal favorites are the blackberry sangria and the Mexican sangria. Service is equally impressive--attentive without being intrusive. The staff is knowledgeable, happy to guide you through the menu, and eager to recommend pairings that enhance the overall experience. What truly sets Antiqua apart is its ability to feel both elevated and welcoming. Whether you're there for a special occasion or a casual night out, the restaurant delivers consistently high quality in both food and hospitality. In a dining scene full of options, Antiqua Latin Cuisine stands out as a must-visit destination for anyone craving authentic Latin flavors with a refined twist.

I stumbled on this Puerto Rican place and I wanted to try it because I don't really see true Puerto Rican places at all come to think of it. I have not had Puerto Rican food since I was a boy eating at my friends house and I can only remember that rice was always on the dish. The place is across from the El Ray food store on 13th St with plenty of street parking. The neighborhood looks a little worse for wear but that is where you can find some of the best ethnic/real food. If there is such a thing as Puerto Rican dive than this place is it with all the artificial trees and roosters all over the place. There is plenty of old green booths and tables on old linoleum floors. Up front is a hot table with empanadas, blood sausage, pork, plantains etc. The older man and woman were very helpful in assisting me with picking out a dish that would be a good representation of Puerto Rican food. The menu has so much that I really don't know what it all was but I probably would have liked all of it no matter what I chose. I chose the Bistec enpanado which is thin breaded steak, Puerto Rican rice and fried plantains with a side of ground beef and cheese empanada. When the plate hit the table it smelled amazing and was plentiful so there would be left overs to relive my lunch again. For the first time I liked the plantains because they were not hard but fried with the texture of a thick slice of cheese. The rice had great texture/flavor and was fluffy with individual grains, no sticky mushy rice here. The breaded steak was very tasty but I can't nail down the flavor profile which bugged me. The empanadas was crispy/golden tasty but they were skimpy on the ground beef and cheese filling because 3/4 of the inside was air, see my pictures. I really liked all the flavors from the dish but I think the nicely seasoned ground beef and cheese empanada was my favorite with the crispy golden she'll. Overall for my first real adult experience with authentic Puerto Rican food I liked it even though the style is not super flavorful with bold tastes or flavors/spices. I would definitely like to get back and try some more of the menu, maybe the roast pork or the cubano sandwich.

Two things will happen today which is restaurant of the week and a Steve stop by. The place is nice looking with a tropical colorful theme. The have a steam table at the counter with some pre made goodness as a visual come on and get something. I ordered the rellenos de papa and the pork jibarito with PR rice. I will admit like the other reviews service was slow for me being the only person in the place and a good 10 minutes before I heard my sandwich sizzling on the grill. The rellenos de papa is basically a ball of mashed potatoes with a ground meat filling fried to a golden brown. This was bland and needed seasoning but still good with a thin crispy shell. The Puerto Rican rice was also bland with pigeon peas but cooked perfect Al Dente and not mushy. The pork jibartio was very good with a nice garlicky flavor. It's this crispy plantain fried nicely, hearty roast pork, cheese, lettuce, tomato and a very garlicky mayo and I mean fresh garlic flavor. This version was the tastiest, meatiest and biggest pork jibartio I have had in town. I enjoyed the food and like other reviewers I'm not going to take stars away for the slow service because I have never been to Puerto Rico and for all I know this is how service is in Puerto Rico. I have a known good place specific foods like pizza, burger etc etc and I think this will be my pork jibartio place because of the garlic Mayo.

Unlike other Boricuan restaurants, no one here speaks American English, but that doesn't even slow me down a little. When I've got a taste for chuletas, I'll figure out a way to get them on my plate. Besides, I wouldn't want to eat in a Puerto Rican restaurant where they could only speak English. So because my Spanish isn't very good, I end up ordering more of the different fried dumplinas, pastilillos, and empanadillos than I can eat because I'm never completely sure what's in them. You'd think I'd remember, but it doesn't matter, almost as good reheated the next day. Be careful, it's a dangerous intersection for pedestrians.
