I love Thai food and eat at several around spring and China town that are excellent. I decided to try some place new tonight and chose Up Thai Kitchen. I ordered Crispy Duck and Tom Yum soup to go so my wife and I could share a late dinner. I did not realise it until I got home that I was overcharged $4. The total was $28 and I tipped an additional $5. Not the end of the world if the food was good. I heated up the soup in a pot on the stove when I got home and noticed a horrible smell coming from the soup. I also noticed that the crispy duck did not look fresh. My wife choked down some of the soup and could not even eat the crispy duck. Almost everything went into the trash. If you want to feel true disappointment mixed with a dash of anger, I suggest ordering the crispy duck with Tom yum soup. read more

Made sure to mention that I had a coupon for free dessert on the phone. Walked in to pick up the order and I paid for the dessert. I kindly let the lady know and she clearly scoffed and with attitude said "I'll just give it back to you in cash". Food came out and as I walked to the car, I noticed I only had 3 entrees. This same lady saw me walking back in and proceeded to ignore me and tend to other customers. The 4th entree was sitting behind the counter. We just moved into this area and were looking for a good thai place to order from. I took a chance on this place and glad I did! I walked in there to pick up our to-go order and it is a nice, therapeutic scene in there. Our absolute favorite is the chicken dumpling soup with carrots added. IT is sooo good!! We have come back like 5 times for it. I've also had the crab dish and that was rich and flavorful too. Pretty much everything we've ordered has been great. Plus, the two boys who run the place are polite and the owner lady is very nice to me every time. We even struck up conversation one time and she is so nice!! It's our first time here. We have tried plenty of Thai restaurants between Houston, Austin, and Dallas. We ordered the panang curry, pad see ew, fried quail, and papaya salad. I can't complain about this place since the family and I are always satisfied. From the pad thai to the crab puffs, we are always pleased with the flavor and the service. Whenever someone gets the cold virus, the Tom Yum soup with chicken always hits the spot! They have complied with COVID 19 guidelines by closing the dining room and have a clear plastic barrier in front of the cashier for takeout orders. I hope this place stays around for years to come. I ordered Up Thai through Uber Eats. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao and Red Curry at a level 2. The flavor was great but it was ridiculously spicy (and I like spicy food) we just wanted to go more mild this time. This is by far the best Thai food around. Actually, some of the best Thai food I've had. The crispy spring rolls are easily on a different level compared to others I've eaten. These are perfectly cooked and not greasy. We also started with the Brussel sprouts. A strange appetizer but again, delicious. My wife enjoyed the Pad Thai at a spice level of 2. I had the green curry chicken at a spice level of 3. It was the perfect amount of heat for us. We will absolutely order from here again. read more

First time visiting Up Thai Kitchen--it was recommended by neighbors. The food was very good. The chicken in peanut sauce was very tasty. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao with chicken, and it was exceptionally good. The spice level could have been hotter for me; it's always hard to gauge on a first visit to a Thai restaurant. The service was very nice and friendly, too. Up Thai is small and in a strip center, but there is available parking without the valet penalty common inside the Loop. This is a decent thai restaurant in the Cypress area. It is a very small location, but it is still somewhere nice to bring a group of friends. The waiters seemed very timid, yet kind. I noticed they had other asian cuisine such as Vietnamese pho. That is sometimes a red flag for restaurants, but I can't complain too much. I had the thai chicken wings as an appetizer and it was quite good. They were fried very lightly with a thai sauce on the side. The wings were very hot, fresh, and tender. I also ordered pad thai at level 4 spicy. It had a nice kick to hit, but I definitely wouldn't suggest it to someone that isn't used to spicy foods. I also had the sweet sticky rice with custard and it was also hot and fresh. The dessert was made well with the right amount of sweetness. Overall, I have eaten better thai food. I can't put my finger on it, but something is slightly Americanized about this restaurant and its food. read more

Decided to give this place a try since it is 5 mins closer than my fav spot Bangkok Bistro - bad decision. I ordered the Thai Fried Rice with shrimp, Thai Chicken Wings, Tom Yum Kai soup and Thai tea. If I ever revisit this place (I'll probably just proceed to Bangkok Bistro from now on) I would reorder the Tom Yum Kai soup and the Thai Fried Rice. The Thai Chicken Wings reminded me of baked chicken (with the skin) rolled in Bar-B-Q sauce. Thankfully tmwr is Monday (trash pickup). The Thai tea is pre made and mixed with cream in a pitcher. I tried this place for the first time on yesterday. I LOVE Tom Yum Goong soup, and this place does a take on it that adds rice noodles. The lunch special comes with the soup, and two sides. The soup itself had such a delicious broth! I am in love. I would like to say that it needs LESS noodle. Let us taste your wonderful soup. Your peanut dressing on your side salad is a must have. Wonderful! I also tried the Avocado & Crab Roll. It is a spring roll filled with fresh avocado, and crab meat. The avocado turns out creamy, without being too hot. This was a definite do over. My husband and I are addicted to the Crying Tiger dish spicy level 4. The meat is grilled perfectly with amazing grill marks. The veggies perfectly cooked. But the true magic are the sauces. We used to eat here all the time. The last time we came here must have been about seven months ago. When we were eating we were surrounded by roaches. They said they had someone take care of it and that's why the roaches were coming out ?? Doesn't make sense and not an excuse. Easy on the sugar! I came out here with my wife the other day and decided to give this place a shot as my wife "Loves" Thai food. We started with the appetizer of their Thai wings. My opinion, it was just fried chicken wings and they poured Mae Ploy Sweet Chili sauce over it. The wings were not tossed and it seemed at least in my opinion the chef just got lazy. I dunno, for 5 wings at $8.00 i'm better off going down the street to Pluckers. Next, I ordered the green curry lunch special and again it was hit was a few extra bams of sugar. The green curry even though I asked for medium heat, it should not be that sweet. I know the coconut milk does add some sweetness to the food however I don't think it needed more sugar. The rice served was sticky rice. I'm not sure if this is a standard but I was under the assuming that Jasmine rice would be served (Yes I can tell the difference between the various rice grains). Last my wife got the Tom Yom soup, again broken record here, super sweet. There was barely any tart or spicy to the soup or any subtle hints of seafood stock. I'm not this anti sugar guy, we patron pretty frequently to sugary dessert places. I'm not sure it was a bad experience, but the food was just not good. Only reason why there was a 2 star was because of the friendly service and cleanliness. read more

New to the area and were excited to try this place, however our delivery order never arrived and we had a poor customer service experience. 1 hr and 20 minutes after I placed my order, I called to inquire about the status because it should have been "on its way" per the app quoted time. Upon answering the phone , I was told that my "order had to be cancelled" because they didn't have a delivery driver today. Would I have been contacted about this 80 minutes earlier, I would not be left so frustrated (not to mention hungry). I'm not clear when (or if) the restaurant would have actually contacted me about this cancellation. I asked to be refunded because I had already been charged for the order. I was not offered even an apology by their employee regarding this incident. With so many alternative choices, I would go somewhere where customers and orders are valued. read more

They have the best green curry I've ever had we usually get the 3 on the spice level if you're not good with spicy I'd get the 1 or 2. Also the the pad see ew, crispy chicken fried rice, and spring rolls are AMAZING. It's a small nice restaurant with HH menu. The service was great. Just so you know we are Asians and whenever a dish is made it comes to table. So not all dishes came out at the same time. Which is what Asians do. We order Thai wings. It was ok. The pad see ew was tasty. The fried crispy fried rice is ok. The crispy chicken is great but rice not so flavorful. Also order a noodle dish Laad Na that was new. It came out like a soupy sauce bowl dish. Way too much thick sauce. Flavor was good but I wouldn't eat all that sauce.
