This is a great company! We had another plumber come out due to our home warranty, and it would take at least a week to fix our hot water. Jordan, from Up to Code, arrived promptly. Jordan had the part we needed in stock. Jordan replaced the part. The home warranty plumber was wrong in his diagnosis. Jordan was able to quickly identify the issue with the water heater and make the necessary repairs. Jordan was awesome!! read more

If you're looking for a reliable, responsive plumber in Benicia, look no further than Up 2 Code Plumbing, Inc.. Our water heater decided to stop working on a Saturday morning and of course, it happened on Valentine's Day. I reached out expecting I might not hear back until the following week, but Michael personally returned my call within a couple of hours and quickly arranged service the same day. That level of responsiveness is rare and very much appreciated. Jorden S., the technician who came out, was outstanding. He diagnosed the issue quickly and had the replacement part on hand, which meant he was able to complete the repair immediately. No delays, no extra appointments. He was professional, courteous, and clearly very experienced. What really stood out was how thorough he was after fixing the issue, he took the time to check the rest of the system to ensure everything was operating properly. He left the workspace spotless, which speaks volumes about the pride he takes in his work. It's clear this company values its customers and stands behind quality service. From the quick callback to the efficient repair, the entire experience was smooth and stress-free. I'm grateful for the excellent service and won't hesitate to call them again or recommend them to others in the community. read more

Great company, highly recommend them! Great Old school work values. Had a new water heater, Bradford, that was installed by a different plumbing company that stopped working after 3 months. Up 2 Code came out and not only fixed it went above and beyond. Efficient and competent at their work. Would use them again without reservation. read more

If you're looking for a reliable honest company for your plumbing needs. Up 2 Code is the one you want. I have 4 water heaters and one wasn't heating up. I was told by two different companies that it needed to be replaced. Up 2 Code came out and saw that the blower motor needed to be replaced and the igniter needed to be cleaned out. I believe they could have just said it was bad and made a few thousand off of me. Not only did they save me thousands of dollars they also made a life time customers out of me. They are truly one of the last honest companies. Dave R. read more

We have an AO Smith water heater that had an issue with the burner/delayed ignition. The unit was still under warranty and Up2Code was listed as an AO Smith service provider. Contacted them and they let me know parts were covered under the warranty so I only had to pay $250 for labor. Many other plumbing companies will not work on your water heater if it's not their "preferred" brand. We got a plumber to come out on the same day to swap out our faulty parts and put in new ones. The rep on the phone was easy to work with. She was able to look up my water heater and schedule a plumber to come out on the same day to fix our water heater. If you have an AO Smith water heater contact this company and check to see if it's still under warranty. You might be able to save a ton of money. read more

I called Up 2 Code for an issue with my Takagi water heater. Catherine (in their office) let me know that they do not service that brand, but offered to ask the business owner if he had a recommendation of another service provider who does. 30 minutes later she called me back with a lead. While I can't comment on the quality of their plumbing work, this was a 5 star service experience and, as such, I would reach out to them for future jobs. read more

I called the sweetest cs rep on a Friday, she pointed out that they were pretty booked til after Tuesday but would try her best. On Monday she had someone at my door by evening to try and help us. He was down in the basement for less than 45min before coming up and telling me he was done and to give it a little time. When I told him we've ran thru 3different plumbers in 6weeks and everyone tells us the same thing, "wait 30min and it should be back up again" he ensured me he replaced everything and it would for sure be working. Still frustrated it took this many attempts with different plumbing companies but thank you Up2Code for getting out hot water back on. It is winter I need my hot showers!!! *clear and efficient communication and service! Real professionals read more

Up 2 Code Plumbing & Boilers - Tankless water heater - Plumbing Near Me - Benicia, California

Needed work on my water heater. Spoke to Tina, who took my information and promised to call back with an appointment. She kept her word and called me as soon as possible. Jeremiah showed up on the appointment date and took care of business. He handled the repair and afterwards, took the time to explain what the root cause of the issue was. read more

They've installed a tankless water heater, water pressure regulator and fixed a slow leak I found in our wall. After 3 separate jobs they've done great work, showed up on time and stuck to the estimated price. Background: After being charged WAY too much from another hometown plumber (to level a toilet ) this company provided a very competitive up front price (the other one wouldn't provide up front estimate). It's great to now have a plumbing company that I know I can trust from now on. Just hire these guys and you won't be sorry. read more

Our gas hot water heater was beginning to make loud banging noises and also the pilot wouldn't stay lit. My husband did all of the google suggested fixes and no go. It is 9 years old so I worried about the repair or replacement cost. Called Up2Code and they were extremely helpful and set up an appointment right away and gave us a quote. Kristen (?) called us back right away and said she thought our WH was on a recall and recommended we call the manufacturer. She was right! Not only were the recalled parts covered but also the labor!!! Joe was great and managed to squeeze us in on a Friday afternoon. Two thumbs up for Up2Code. read more

They are still totally incompetent. I have provided them with documentation of payment twice in the past two years. This amount was paid by credit card, and the person talked to last year acknowledged this after my last review. It just seems that they are too incompetent to actually document the payment in their records. read more

You didn't come for free; your work is (supposed to be ) under warranty. There is a lot to desire with your company, and I wonder why I should call you and what you think you can achieve on Monday after: - you publicly called me a liar when I pointed out discrepancies - you were already here three times - you revealed your true colors of how you treat customers when things are not your liking I also waited and chased you down for weeks to get back to me. You didn't come for free because it was not a favor. It was a leaking that still exists. You never showed up in the given timeframe but leisurely whenever it was convenient for you, not considering others. Branding is something that you want to be recognized by the customers and want them to describe their experience positively. Something to think about. read more

We purchased a new water heater from Lowe's for a home we are remodeling and it didn't work. Lowe's would not take it back (which didn't seem right since it was defective out of the box), instead we had to contact the manufacturer and have them send us the part (temperature sensor) and they asked us to call one of three local plumbers. Two didn't even return my call :( I was worried because the house is going on the market for sale within days and I needed this resolved FAST! I am glad that UP2CODE Plumbing DID answer my call. Katherine was understanding of my situation and squeezed me in the following day. Katherine and Krista (sorry if I am spelling names wrong) were very professional and easy to work with over the phone. The technician that came out (Kyle) was also very professional and friendly. He repaired the water heater and waited around for awhile to be sure it worked properly. I was pleasantly surprised because this was "warranty work" which most many companies don't like to deal with but they took care of me very well. Thank you to the staff at UP2CODE! I'll be calling again when the need arises. read more

Quick advice, go somewhere else for your plumbing/boiler needs. I question their integrity and was not happy with their customer service. They completed the work and left the garage in complete disarray. We've dealt with other plumbing companies that actually made an effort to clean up after themselves and leave the area in same condition they found, not so with "Up 2 Code". If it's a warranty issue you may be stuck using them, if you have a choice then I advise you go elsewhere. read more

Joe came this morning to replace a very badly plumbed-in garbage disposal. We knew it would be a tricky job, as it was obvious the previous owners had done a really bad job of it. He was on time, great and efficient and explained what the problems were and told us what he was going to do to get our approval before he went ahead and did the work. We will be absolutely happy to use them again and happy to recommend! read more

Replaced a hot water heater that was under warranty and the young man Kyle was very professional thank you.

Up2Code plumbing took care of a warranty issue for me. I had another plumber install an AO water heater from Lowe's over a month ago. It kept making a loud fog horn noise for 10 seconds every time it started to warm up the water. I called AO and they referred me to Up2Code. I was able to get it repaired the day after I called. The plumber showed up during the appointment window and was in and out lickity split. He completed the repair! Now my water heater is super quiet, just how it was supposed to be. read more

My water heater had a leak for the 2nd time. Initially was comunicating with another company (by text) to set an appointment and was going to be charged $800 for replacement and warranty processing. Instead, we ended up using UP2code who charged us $550. Customer Service was outstanding. The company responded to my message promptly and had our water replaced the next day by Josh (friendly, excellent service, on time). This company saved me money and provided professional service. I can not respect a company more when they provide honest and quality service. Will be using this company for future plumbing or water heater issues. read more

We had a problem with our water heater that was covered under warranty. We were given three local companies that were authorized to handle the warranty repair work. When I called the first company they said that they didn't have time to do warranty work, then I called this company and they were very very receiving and told me that they would be happy to take care of the problem. The scheduling was easy and when the technician came out, and he had all the parts he already knew he would need to get the job done in one trip. I'm happy to report that our water heater works much better now and that the technician was very professional and performed his job with the utmost of skill. I would highly recommend giving this company a chance if you ever need any work done for water heaters or other plumbing needs. read more

Jo is a nice guy . Very professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommended . Thank you so much .

My water heater died. Whirlpool's 877 number gave me bad info, which cost me a day, but they also gave Up2Code as one of their certified repair companies. They're so busy that it took them a day to get me on the schedule, but they showed up when they said they would and I had a working water heater when they left. You can't ask for more than that. Professional, efficient, and polite. read more

I may have already written a review for Up to Code before, but just wanted to write again about my most recent experience. Initially they got a new water heater in for me in my condo seven years ago, no easy task because of my set up here. Most recently, they came and installed a check valve on it. Then when I had a problem with water pressure in my shower afterwords, Mike came out himself to troubleshoot it. He made a valiant effort to solve the problem even though it was Black Friday, but on top of that, he came up with a solution to replace the valve (again, difficult access in my condo) without having to do a whole bathroom remodel. He saved me thousands and a lot of grief. Words can't express how grateful I was/am for getting this resolved for me with the least amount of expense and trouble, thank you so much Mike and Up to Code! Oh yeah, and I almost forgot, he also referred me to Vigil Mechanical, who also saved me thousands and a lot of grief getting my AC replaced and my heater fixed. Another company wanted to replace everything, including the water heater, but thank God for Mike, who came and looked at this for me too. Again, words can't express my gratitude. read more

Choose this company for your plumbing needs only if you preferred to be ignored and treated unprofessionally. Up2Code replaced a water heater in a home I recently purchased. Instead of routing the pressure relief valve drain to the floor or outside of the dwelling, they ran it into the drain for the washing machine. While the city of Benicia building inspector signed off on this move, if the valve ever releases, hot water will simply spatter all over the washing machine drainage hole, the wall, and a nearby electrical outlet because the end of the pipe hovers over the drain instead of running into it. Add to that, it is out of alignment and probably little of the water would actually run in I called Mike to ask if they would rectify the problem and was promised a return call to send out a technician to evaluate. Mike never called me back. I called and left another message the following day and still did not receive a call. Decided that I would not even want this company to do the work now after all. NOT Up2Code! read more

No show / no call / no nothing for warranty work. I work a 12 hour rotating shift plus take care of my elderly mom so I can't just drop everything to meet a plumber at the drop of a hat. My newly installed water heater has a strange resonance when it fires up so I was directed to Up 2 Code for warranty work. I scheduled an appointment a week or two out but at the agreed to time nobody showed up, called to say they couldn't make it or returned my calls. This seems extremely unprofessional if you ask me. I don't think I would buy anything from this guy if you can't get him to show up for warranty work. Just sayin'... read more

Don't call them if you need immediate service. Katherine was very nice and put in a big effort to try and get service as least the next day (after no hot water for 3 days), but then later on they cancelled and put back another day. We were without hot water Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday until we called someone else that could come over right away. read more

I have had the unfortunate opportunity to have had two separate plumbing problems in the past year, but fortunately for me Up2Code limited the damage and delivered on their word of being a competent, thorough, efficient, professional, accountable company. Both times that I have used Up2Code an employee actually personally answered the call for service (rare these days), assessed my needs, and set an appointment immediately. The first time I used them, they were running a little late that day, but were professional enough to call a half hour before the appointment to let me know they would be about 15-30 minutes late (and apologized for it), the second time I used them they were 5 minutes early for our appointment (professional accountability is HUGE in customer service, considering the 4 hour windows other companies hold you hostage with). On both occasions the problem was assessed and corrected on the first visit, one of which was surprising because the materials were extremely old (and rare) but they had already stocked the work truck with three versions of the part they anticipated needing to be sure that they would not need to waste a trip (or my time and money) having to leave the job to get it. They also took some time assessing one of the problems I was having (sewer back-up) to see if the back-up was beyond the responsibility of me (the homeowner) to see if the City was responsible depending on the location of the back up (which would have lost them business, but saved me a lot of money). Finally, the last thing to mention is price. Although not "cheap," I did not find their pricing unfair. The service was great, work timely and quality, and the price fair. I will continue to use Up2Code plumbing (hopefully not for a while) for any future problems, and I highly recommend them to any of my friends, family, and fellow Yelper's! read more

Up 2 Code is always on time, professional with their work and a great local company to do business with. My experience has been personal in our home installing gas lines to the fire place and changing the kitchen from electric to natural gas, plus a couple of minor plumbing problems over several years. I've also worked with them on commercial projects. Very effective, with fair pricing. The job gets done right the first time, on time. read more

After dealing with a leaking master bathroom sink for over a year, which my dad and husband could not get to stop, I decided to call in the professionals. Of course I turned to yelp, because I did not want to have to pay an arm and a leg and I wanted good service. I called Up2code and Mike called me back within the day. We setup an appointment and he arrived right on time. He wasn't even in my house 15 minutes before he had a diagnosis and a fix. The entire drain needed to be replaced and while I wanted it done, I was a little worried how much it would cost. Mike replaced the drain and was done in about 45 minutes. Total cost was under $130! Thank you Mike and Up2Code! I will definitely be recommending you guys to others with plumbing needs! read more
