I spent FOUR MONTHS trying to get reimbursed for emergency repair! I contracted with Benicia Plumbing to replace a shut off valve and the waterline behind my fridge for the service date of July 10, 2023 The technician came and as far as I knew, performed the work I contracted and paid for - a water line and a shut off valve. As I assumed this company was professional, I did not check the work. On July 14, my downstairs condo neighbor has a leak coming through her fan in her laundry area, from my home. I immediately call Benicia Plumbing and they informed me that they don't have a service person to send to my home that day. Anyone dealing with a water leak coming from an upstairs unit to the downstairs unit knows that this is an emergency. Since they didn't have a technician for me, I immediately started calling other plumbers and found one who could arrive in 90 minutes. The plumber arrived and found the leak to be coming from the water valve that had NOT been replaced per the contract with Benicia Plumbing. This plumber immediately sourced all of the items he would need to replace the valve, which included, cutting out sheet rock and replacing it, cutting out base molding and replacing it, and of course, all of the necessary plumbing supplies. The unit downstairs sustained $600 worth of damage that I was also responsible for. Carlos, the other plumber worked diligently for four hours on a Friday afternoon/evening, until 7 PM. The charge for this emergency work was $900. Because the emergency repair was only necessary because the valve had NOT been replaced per my contract four days earlier, I submitted the bill for the emergency contractor working in my home and for the contractor working in the home below to Benicia Plumbing for reimbursement. I also requested a refund for the work that was NOT performed per my contract. I sent a full detailed explanation to BP along with photos. Their response was that they had no idea where or when these photos were taken and they were not going to take responsibility. I pointed out that there's metadata embedded in the photos that shows the time the date and location of each photo. The photos clearly showed the 20 year old valve and the fact that it had not been replaced per the contract. Once I pointed this out, Benicia Plumbing said that they could not find the contractors licensing information for the two contractors that helped in this emergency. They said they would only consider paying if I could provide that information and if I couldn't, they would report these other contractors to the California State Licensing Board, which would cause them harm. They also told me they spoke to the technician and he said he replaced the valve and that he had been working there for 4 years and they trusted him. Hmmm.... Benicia Plumbing asked to come and do a physical inspection with a manager and the technician who insisted he replaced the valve - which he did not replace. I allowed the inspection to happen and it took me weeks to hear back. When I did finally hear back, they told me they would only reimburse me for the $415 for the job they were supposed to have done. This was not a satisfactory response. I was able to obtain all of the licensing and insurance information from the other contractors and sent it to Benicia Plumbing. I did not hear anything back for one month. On November 6 I wrote, and informed BP that I had received counsel from a small claims court case manager for Solano, County, and that if I was not reimbursed immediately, I was taking this to small claims court. It did not feel good to me to have to use this approach. I have never been in small claims court and I would have gone if that's what it took to settle this matter. I received a response from the manager that they would reimburse me for everything I requested. From the day of the water leak until November 6, I put a lot of time and effort into having all of the proper documentation to have an ethical business transaction with the upmost integrity. This was very stressful for me, and I think their intention was for me to just go away. My refund check has been received and I chose to write this review so others can have awareness of Benicia Plumbing's business practices. There's actually more from earlier transactions with Benicia Plumbing, where I had contracted for something, set up service dates, and the technician arrives without the plumbing hardware they needed, or I had previously been told to purchase the wrong items. A different technician who had come out did not thoroughly review the scope of the job, missed quoting for important elements of the job, and the true bid ended up being $700 more than the original quote and contract that I had accepted. I had understood that the technician was at fault and agreed to pay the additional money and move forward with the work. Lesson learned. I needed to have canceled that job and found another plumber.

BEWARE! BeastBay almost blew my house up!…read more Another thing to note, if you are considering doing business with them, is that they have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau due to 2 other complaints they did not respond to. I had used BeastBay Plumbing once before when we had a drain problem. They were responsive, and the tech was friendly and informative. He fixed the problem, and we signed up for their loyalty program. I knew our water heater was nearing the end of its lifespan, and I called them to get a quote. Sydney came out and explained the options. I ended up going for the tankless water heater. I also got quotes to replace a kitchen faucet and install a new shower fixture. The techs who showed up were courteous, but they arrived a couple of hours later than I had expected. I anticipated the faucet and shower fixture jobs to go fairly quickly, but they took almost two hours. Then they started work on the water heater. What Sydney hadn't discussed was the need for direct power to the tankless system or a new vent. The tech wanted to open the ceiling up, but as it's a two-story house with a tile roof, that was a hard no. They ended up doing a vent through the side of the house. At first, they said it would be a two-day job, which wasn't mentioned when I booked, but after getting the side vent in, they said they'd finish that day. Here is where things go very, very badly. The next day, I went into the garage to move a car. I was overwhelmed by the smell of gas. I called BeastBay, and the phone center told me to call 911, which I did. In the meantime, I opened the garage door. I realized after I hit the button that, should anything spark, the whole place could go up. Thankfully, it didn't. The fire department came out, pinpointed that BeatBay had not tightened the gas connection to the tankless unit and turned it off. Then began a 2+ hour marathon of calls to BeastBay to get someone out immediately. Except they didn't. I had to call the office 4 times and then had 3 separate conversations with them. In the meantime, Sydney came back out to see what was up. I explained the severity of the gas leak and told him I wasn't happy he hadn't mentioned needing direct power or the need to re-vent from the previous water heater. Sydney indicated there would be a small rebate, and they would service the unit going forward free of charge. The tech showed up, apologized for not securing the gas line, tightened it up, and left. This was a week and a half ago. I heard nothing more from BeastBay. I called the office on Wednesday and asked that they memorialize what Sydney had said during our meeting in writing. The woman who answered, Sarah?, said she'd have to check with Sydney, in a tone that said she didn't believe he had offered anything. She came back and said that was correct, and she'd send it over by email. Nothing was forthcoming. I've called the office twice today, twice no one answered, and the third time it went to a general voicemail. I received a phone call 2 + weeks after the incident. The woman I spoke to apologized, but assumed everything was fine. I explained how VERY unhappy I was with both the work they did and their lack of responsiveness. She said she would talk to the owner and get back to me yesterday or today. No call. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. To say I'm disappointed in the service is an understatement. This is a massive failure on every front.

Well she needed it taken care of now! So, I Googled Plumbing places and started getting quotes. Advanced Plumbing was by far the Best business for her Plumbing needs. No sooner did I hand up with making an appointment, the doorbell rang & there they were Advanced Plumbing employees Jamal & Terrance. They assessed the issue & provided my mom with the best & most affordable solution. They were very friendly, knowledgeable, & fast. They explained what they would be doing, showed her the damaged parts that they were replacing & had it done in no time. They also explained to her about the Warrantee on her product & about all the benefits her new Advanced Plumbing Membership offered. So we would definitely recommend Advanced Plumbing in Vacaville to anyone looking for affordable, friendly, & fast professional work done. Also a Big Thank You again to Jamal & Terrance for your Great Work !!

!!PLEASE READ FIRST!!…read more I should have shopped around instead of rushing into hiring this company, that's my biggest mistake. I recently had a new washer and dryer installed, and the installer told me my water valves were leaking and needed to be replaced. This was the first company I called because of their high number of reviews, which I now regret trusting. The price I was charged to replace those valves was outrageous--nearly $1,100, and they didn't even bother to repair or replace the sheetrock afterward. For such a basic job, that alone felt excessive. It gets worse. After doing just one load of laundry, my water heater on the second floor started leaking down into the first floor. This had NEVER happened before they worked on my plumbing. I called them immediately, but they couldn't send anyone out until the next day. When a technician finally arrived, I was quoted $4,000 to replace the water heater. That didn't sit right with me, so I decided to get a second opinion. I contacted another company, and the difference was unbelievable. They charged me $2,300 for the same water heater replacement, showed up within an hour of my call, and completed the entire job in about two hours. Out of curiosity, I also asked them what they would have charged to replace the laundry room valves. Their answer? Around $350. So I was charged nearly three times the going rate for a simple repair, and then quoted almost double for the water heater replacement. That's not just overpriced, that feels completely PREDATORY. I strongly recommend getting multiple quotes before hiring anyone, especially this company. I would not use them again and would not recommend them to anyone.

That level of responsiveness is rare and very much appreciated. Jorden S., the technician who came out, was outstanding. He diagnosed the issue quickly and had the replacement part on hand, which meant he was able to complete the repair immediately. No delays, no extra appointments. He was professional, courteous, and clearly very experienced. What really stood out was how thorough he was after fixing the issue, he took the time to check the rest of the system to ensure everything was operating properly. He left the workspace spotless, which speaks volumes about the pride he takes in his work. It's clear this company values its customers and stands behind quality service. From the quick callback to the efficient repair, the entire experience was smooth and stress-free.
