They were polite and kind but I actually wish they had never shown up in the first place. I had two faucets without hot water. I filed a claim with my home warranty which sent me Focus Rooter and Plumbing. I informed the two plumbers of my issue, told them that I already confirmed the issue to be with the piping, and let them go to work. They replaced various things in my faucets (which I told them wasn't the issue). They then, unsurprisingly, noticed that the issue wasn't fixed. I explained, again, that I think the issue is with the piping. If the issue is with the piping, they'd need to install completely new pipes. They don't have time for that, so they leave. Here's where the service was just truly so awful: - They report to my insurance that I don't have pipes at all and need net-new pipes. Home warranty of course doesn't want to pay for new bathroom piping that never existed, so now I'm on the phone with them for two hours. - In the end, I fixed the issue by following the piping, finding a somewhat stuck valve, and just turning it back. Fixing the actual issue was so simple that even me, a full amateur, was able to do it in about two hours. Instead, they arrived and then cost me multiple hours of frustrating phone calls with the insurance. You're probably thinking: Felix, didn't you just call them to explain that? Yes, yes, I did. They didn't pick up and never called back. I'd recommend someone else. Literally anyone. read more

Have a home in Castro Valley and they sent Angel (the tech) to check the faucets and water heater. we have two downstairs vanity faucets having issues. Two weeks after the visit, no report on them, called so many times and I started to believe their office is intentionally ignored me. So I called the owner Enrique , he's telling me that's not his dept, and he seemed not care at all, instead he's "Focus" on profit, telling me the insurance only will pay them a little and asked me to hire him directly for more profit. Enrique just don't listen and constantly over talked me. this company has not integrity and I wouldn't let them touch any of my plumbing items. We had a leak in the main in our front yard several months ago, it was the line between the main and the house so even shutting off the valve to the house didn't solve it. Focus was responsive to the service call and they did a great job and were very conscientious of leaving the yard in good shape after the digging. Enrique (the owner) informed us that he (has) worked for the city or county water service and even though the repair would be considered our responsibility, that because it's a necessity of the line between the meter and our house that they might grant a partial rebate. Whether the city will honor this or not, we still need an itemized receipt for the services provided. This would be useful for tax purposes if we sell the house as a deduction. UPDATE: Enrique finally gave me a physical invoice for the work done months ago. He brought it personally to my house. 4 stars for their work, still dinging one star because it took many texts and calls and ultimately a Yelp review in order to elicit a response. My rating is not for the service performed but for the fact that despite numerous calls and messages left and texts sent and assurance from Enrique that he would send a copy of the invoice - that has never happened. 04/06/25- Called yesterday, Saturday, to see if Focus Rooter would be able to do some work. My kitchen sink was clogged and water won't drain. One call and Mr Enrique gladly answered my call and was told that he can do it the following day which is a Sunday. I am expecting that most would not accept Sunday work and make it into a Monday. I was impressed on how prompt he can do the job. My last clog in my kitchen sink was Nov2020 and done by Beastbay Plumbing. But when I called Beastbay (as a repeat customer), I was booked on Monday. But here I am, cannot function fully without my kitchen sink and tried to call local plumbers with high reviews. Two of them did not answer, while Focus Rooter did! So, I cancelled my Beastbay appointment on Monday and went with Focus, around 9-10am. 10:20am comes and i had to call Mr Enrique to follow up. He said that he will be at my house in 30mins. Then he called me back that he will send his other workers that do work for him. Then, the 3 great guys arrived in a white van with Focus logo. (I forgot to take a photo!) Brian, Mikey and Edgar! They were all eager to start the job. Mind you, it's a Sunday but they came prepared and happy to do the job. They tried their first tool, like a small auger and after awhile, clog is still there. They had to size up, using the high end powered snake and still did not do the trick! And they really work hard and took the time to run the snake and did not give up. Next step would be- to see the crawlspace. Without hesitation, Mikey went under followed by Brian to check the pipes. They went back in action and resume with their powered snake. With all their patience and endurance, wooohooo!, finally the water went down and my kitchen sink is back to life! Thank you for going above and beyond, not giving up and always willing to work, no matter what the job may be! After it was fixed, they left the house spotless at they cleaned up after themselves! Brian clearly explained what happened, how could it have been prevented and what they did. Now, I can have my regular plumber that lives local and is always to ready to tackle any plumbing jobs! If only I have known Focus before, for sure- I will always be one of their satisfied customers. Give it a try! This is an excellent family business and treats customers like their family. So our plumbing issues have continued, this has nothing to do with Focus Plumbing but rather a 80 year old houses plumbing. This time our main sewer line broke and needed to be replaced asap. They came in immediately, gave us a very reasonable rate to replace it and also informed us of a $3500 subsidy the city was providing to replace the very same pipe. I called for my mom's leaking kitchen sink faucet. Enrique was quick to respond and gave us a fair estimate explaining what he needed to fix and replace. I called multiple plumbers because my sewer had backed up on me. No one could come out the same day. I called focus rooter and plumbing. I spoke with Enrique and he said he can come over in about a hour. Enrique and his crew came on time and went straight to work. They were able to snake my sewer line and clear the clog. They did a video inspection of my sewer line and found roots and a belly in the pipe. All work done in less than 30min. I have an old house and the sewer is made out of cast iron. I've been holding off on replacing my sewer pipe but due to what they found I asked for a quote to replace it. Enrique gave me a quote to have it replaced and didn't pressure me. He told me, think about it and let him know. The way him and his crew worked I decided to have him do the work. Him and his crew came out the next day to start the work and I was told it would be 4-5 days to complete the job and they would have everything ready before cutting out the old pipe witch I appreciate because not having a sewer meant my family and I would have to stay somewhere else while the repair was done.
