Awesome experience. I called to have underground pipe location service because water was draining and pooling and filling test holes about 3 feet away from the house. My partner suggested I look under the house first, which suggestion I (foolishly) ignored. Matt arrived and took charge. He closed a frozen service shutoff valve in an access panel at the house, and noticed the leak stopped: thus eliminating the possibility that there was an underground leak. He then donned his swimming trunks, and crawled around in the mud under the house. He found close to half a dozen pinhole leaks, and pooling under the house. Matt detailed these leaks for me with pictures of the leaks. My father was a master owner-builder and I was his slave. I've done a lot of pipe sweating in my time. and plan on doing the work myself. A troublesome shower drain was resolved quickly by Oak Plumbing. I want to recognize Niles, Harris, Jessy, and Omari for their great work. Niles inspected the crawlspace, measured every line, and gave me a fair quote based on my home's actual layout. Harris cleared space for the new pipes, sketched the floor plan, and confirmed materials. Jessy and Amari replaced all horizontal drain lines--including the garage sink, washer, kitchen sink, two toilets, shower, and two sinks--in tough conditions under the house. This started after another company gave me a flat-fee quote based on "two bathrooms." Oak Plumbing's quote was more detailed and more accurate for my 1950s home with 1.5 baths and mixed old materials. Their bid was over 10% better, and I left a deposit that day. Problem was low pressure in my kitchen sink. They sent out two people who told me I needed a new faucet that would cost $1,100 (yes that is not a typo) and that the total cost would be about $1,400. This company is horrible. They take advantage of the customer especially the elderly. I read the reviews after my mom called them I thought great they're going to sell her stuff she does not need. Well this guy shows up and I explained the banging noise and after he looked at some faucets outside the house he sees the water heater inside she needs an expansion tank I she she does not need that he turned to me and do you even know what that is? Wow really you just Google it. Which I did and said again she doesn't need that. He sold her on getting her pipes secured even though I told her she didn't need that either.The guy even told me its ok to flush cat kitter in the toilet. This was a hammer problem and he never addressed the issue. This company in my mind is NOT diamond certified work to me or even BBB either. Technicians are not well experienced. I have to call them back to fix what was installed on the toilet tank, the kitchen and shower faucet. The prices are not worth of what was done. It was not mentioned that there was a 3% charge on credit card and when I questioned about the charge, the guy said a check will be mailed. I called a few times and spoke to Chris (the person in charge) and he said he will return the $169.00 through mail. Until now, he hasn't done what he had said to return the 3% charge. This is not how a business should be handled. The guy who came and did an estimate looks so professional and knows what he was talking about but the technicians that did the actual job are not well experienced. Normally I would give Oak plumbing a good review, as I have done in the past. However, it pains me not to do so today. The plumbing was good, except for one item. They installed two new faucets and pop up drains in the bathroom. in one of the pop up drains the Clevis screw was not tightened. Needless to say, it came loose, forcing my 72 old self having to contort under the sink to fasten it. And in this same bathroom, they left it a mess. My ears are still burning from my spouse's ire over this. They left the floor very ditry, with water on the floor. In addition, the bath cabinets were stained with dirt and water stains. Unethical, Unprofessional, and Scammers - Avoid Oak Plumbing ( READ FULL REVIEW BEFORE APPLYING OR PAYING FOR SERVICE) I worked for Oak Plumbing under owner Matt Harris, and I feel obligated to warn future employees and customers about their practices. My experience was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. From the start, Matt Harris made inappropriate remarks, including proudly calling himself the "biggest redneck." While I was hired to be a technician, I was quickly reassigned to reorganize their warehouse, shop, and junkyard, as well as company vehicles. Once I completed all these tasks, I was abruptly fired without notice the day before Thanksgiving. When I arrived to speak with Matt Harris, he already had a "letter of resignation" prepared, which I signed under the assumption I was being terminated. When I requested proper termination paperwork, he called the police and gave a discriminatory description of me as an "angry Black man." Even the officers deemed his behavior unreasonable, calling him a difficult and petty individual. Harris further insulted me, claiming he "knew my kind" and mocked me about seeking unemployment benefits, which I hadn't applied for at the time. "GET A LAWYER HAHAHA" After the holiday, I discovered my final paycheck was deliberately issued incorrectly, making it impossible to cash. I had to go through another employee just to get a response. This level of pettiness and lack of professionalism speaks volumes about how Oak Plumbing operates. For customers, beware: their technicians are unprofessional, and their quoting system is designed to scam. They inflate prices as much as possible while pretending it's a thorough process. Matt Harris spends his time crafting responses to negative reviews and strategizing ways to have them removed rather than improving his business. I'm writing this a year later because Matt Harris falsified documents to challenge an unemployment claim I had forgotten about. Thankfully, a judge ruled in my favor, citing no legitimate grounds for my termination. Representives of Oak Plumbing have come to my house 3 times recently. Jovan came to assess the situation (needing a new Ice Maker Box for a new-ish fridge) and then Travis came twice. Once to install the Ice Maker Box and then to return, when it wasn't making ice. Compliments all around. Turns out, it's not that easy to install an Ice Maker Box as it involves all the house pipes and takes a skilled plumber to do it. The staff (I've met a few of them recently) at Oak Plumbing is the very best. Amy on the phone is so friendly and efficient. I went to their office and met Matt to tell him how much I appreciate the customer service I got from both Jovan and Travis on site and Amy in the office. Having Travis in my house, to do the work, was a joy. He is so friendly and conversational --- plus he does great work and explains exactly what he's doing, as he works. His second stop at my house was because my fridge wasn't making ice. His previous work was perfect, he re-checked it and analyzed the problem. Water filter needed replacing. This company is Diamond Certified so I trust them. Solid company. Nate was our technician and showed up on time and knew exactly where to look to find our ongoing leak. Several other companies (super inexperienced) showed up and they all said they would have to replace something before diagnosing which sounded incorrect and they were absolutely wrong - only Oak Plumbing saved the day and replaced the valve after diagnosing and it solved the issue right away. Our experience with Oak Plumbing has just been terrible, and in no way should you even consider them for even the most rudimentary work. If anything goes sideways, their back of house will drag their feet and you will be in the same position as us. It has been virtually impossible to get them to be accountable for messing up the standalone tub in our home. I work in tech, and if we have an employee inflicted issue with one of our customers it is all hands on deck to resolve the issue as fast as possible. This has not been the case, and I would be ashamed of the performance and the consideration for customer satisfaction of my team if I was the owner of this company. The abbreviated version is: My wife and I moved into our new house a week before contacting Oak Plumbing. We found them on Thumbtack. Asked them to come out and rebuild a toilet and take a look at why our hot water takes forever to reach our bathroom. Installed a $1600 hot water re-circulation pump that to this day has made virtually no difference in the speed at which we receive hot water. Prior to leaving the plumber they sent out (who told us they work on commission, after trying to sell us additional shit) snaked our freestanding tub (which my uncle who is not even a plumber said should not have happened) causing a massive leak into our garage, rendering the tub unusable. The plumber that did the work prior came back out the next day to reassess the issue, stating he would come back Saturday to get it taken care of. Nobody showed up on Saturday, and we were introduced to Ariel who told us Saturdays were reserved for urgent work. He mentioned we could get our money back, but we would need to pay for the tub repair as they weren't sure if the damage was caused by Oak Plumbing (lol). We opted to leave the money where it was until this was figured out, and have heard nothing about this refund since. They dragged their feet sending people out, making us wait days/weeks for people who had no idea what they were working with to show up, only to reschedule again. Ariel and the original plumber came out, and for whatever reason Ariel left leaving the original plumber alone who then could not move the tub by himself, wasting another visit to our house. They finally send out someone who knows what the hell they are doing, and need to order a part from the manufacturer, a thin membrane drain pipe that (surprise) should not have been snaked. Ariel told my wife the replacement part was unable to be ordered or was delayed after weeks of us waiting. My wife called the manufacturer, who then read her the email to Ariel with a link to order the part, saying that he has been able to order the part the entire time and simply had not followed through. On October 22 they showed up to finish fixing the tub, and did an absolutely terrible job sealing it. This is the quality of work you can expect from a company that fucked up your stuff, then took a month to half ass making it right. It is STILL not sealed properly. I legitimately have no idea how any self respecting business could execute the basics of their job this poorly. Update: the tub still doesn't drain properly. We have filed a complaint against Oak Plumbing with the Better Business Bureau. read more

Oak plumbing recently came out to assess a faucet repair on a kitchen sink in my rental unit. The initial estimate to replace the faucet, shutoff valves and a sink drain outlet was over $1,000 not including the faucet that I had already purchased. I was extremely surprised at this cost, as I've done enough plumbing to know this was exhorbitant. I asked them to adjust the price, which they did, but only with a minor reduction. Since I manage the rental from out of state and needed the work completed for my tenant, I opted to have them go ahead and perform the repair. I admit Johnny did a quality job, however it only took 2 1/2 hours to complete. Based on the $950 price tag, and the minimal parts required, this worked out to be nearly $400/hour. That's $100/hr more than my attorney charges. Basically, good work, but way overpriced. I asked for a business line card (which I never received) and considered using them as a primary provider for our future HOA plumbing needs, but after feeling pretty gouged I think I'll find someone else from here on. Don't do it. WAY overpriced. Thankfully, we only got estimates from them. They charged more than any other business just for the estimate alone, much less the proposed work. One company charged $400 for the same estimate including a video inspection and toilet removal/reset for which Oak Plumbing charged $644. However, the less expensive company gave us a copy of the video inspection. Oak Plumbing did not. Had they known their market they would have known that we would need a copy of the video inspection to apply for a grant for the work through our local Sewer District. Oak Plumbing's estimates (which were so riddled with misspellings that it took several re-reads in parts to decipher what they were trying to say) did not include obtaining permits as well as other services which were all covered by the business chosen by us to do the work. The company we did choose came in at a whopping $19,000 less to do the work! And it was beautifully done. read more

Again, Oak plumbing came to the rescue. Our shower stopped dead one day, and I could have sworn it was the cartridge. The two Matts arrived, cleaned the cartridge out, checked the water filtration system, and determined it was dumping media which collected in the shower cartridge. Problem solved at a fraction of the cost of all the plumbing parts I would have thrown at it. Thanks, guys! PS they sent two folks but one was supposed to be a trainee. As another customer said, extremely overpriced. We had a leak coming from our 2nd floor and was told it was coming from the bathtub. They replaced the drain from the top of the tub (a less than $20 part which they charged a lot more). During the service they discovered that water was in our dryer HVAC line (and I told the tech about this) which they said was where the leak was coming from and that they can't fix and do not fix. We got stuck with a bill over $2,500.00! We were caught in bad place where we wanted to take care of it asap and trusted the technician. We are also fearful of COVID and didn't get more quotes for service. Do your research first and get more quotes from other plumbers and don't get taken advantage of like I did. Worst plumbing experience I ever had was with Oak Plumbing. They send this guy Zachary to my home. He was very rude from the moment he arrived at my door. I asked him couple of valid questions about the issue he either answered my questions in a very rude manner with an attitude or he would give me the silent treatment. For a clogged toilet in master bedroom he suggested removing the toilet bowl and running camera in the pipes. Then he showed me a blurry image and said there is a white toy stuck in there he charged me $644.00 for this and gave a price quote of $ 3000.00 for changing the pipes and leaving a whole in my ceiling that i have to then repair myself. After that I called Mr. Rooter a vey nice gentleman by the name Jason came looked at the issue and after 10 minutes got to the root cause of problem. There was no need for removing the toilet bowl and running camera in the pipes because there was a plastic bottle stuck in the toilet bowl itself. Don't even think about hiring Oak Plumbing for your plumbing issues because clearly they have no clue about how to run a decent business. That guy Zachary needs to get fired and Oak Plumbing should return my payment. I will make sure that happens in the meantime stay away from this horrible business. read more

The only reason Oak Plumbing is receiving two stars is because both plumbers that were assigned to us over the course of two weeks (for a few VERY basic projects) were courteous, positive, and generally respectful of us and our home. It's unbelievably amazing that the other reviews are positive, folks. Sit back - and ENJOY! The first plumber assigned to us talked a really big game about how good he was and that he was studying for his Master Plumber exam in December. Well, he needs to keep studying. While I recognize everyone has a bad day, he had a bad two weeks until we had to call Oak to fire him and replace him with another plumber. We needed him to replace a shower cartridge, two sink pop-ups, a shower door seal/weather strip, some sink basin caulking, and flush our tankless water heater (routine maintenance). Over the course of two separate home visits, he was ONLY able to successfully and efficiently accomplish caulking of sink basins and fix a slow drip in our laundry room sink. He claimed he wanted to do everything in one day, so he wanted to return in two days time. In the meantime, rather than trying to decipher what brand sink faucets we had, he encouraged us to simply replace them with new faucets. He said refurbishing existing faucets can be more expensive than simply buying new ones. We believed him. Well, if he actually would have attempted to decipher what brand they were (Rohl - VERY EXPENSIVE), he would know they are over $500 faucets and getting new parts would be significantly less expensive than buying new, similar faucets to match our bathroom. Not to mention, Rohl has a lifetime warranty on parts. After five minutes of online research, we called Rohl. They apologized to us and sent us three sets of brand new cartridges free of charge (one for each of our three-piece, widespread faucets). When he FINALLY came back for the second visit (four hours late, even though Dispatch told me he would only be two hours late), he also realized he had the wrong shower cartridge and the wrong shower door weather strip. Wouldn't you want to take measurements or pictures ahead of time? He attempted to "fix" one pop-up system but they actually got worse!! The plungers wouldn't open or shut. Shouldn't a plumber test them first? He got grease and crud on his hands and dusted them off in our Master toilet - and didn't even flush! Once we fired him, I was told I'd get a call from the Operations Supervisor, Ariel, the following Monday. I never heard from him, so I called Oak on Tuesday demanding a call-back within two hours. He finally called and didn't even apologize. He told me he was going to assign a Master Plumber to the job and that he would show up at 8AM on Thursday. At 8:56AM, Ariel finally called me saying the plumber couldn't come for personal reasons, but that he would DEFINITELY be there Friday. On Friday, a completely different plumber showed up and Ariel never even bothered to tell me it was going to be a different plumber. It turns out, Andrew is the only employee we worked with who actually shouldn't be fired. Once the job was finally completed, I was called to collect payment without even getting an invoice, which I then had to request. Except when I called them back, their VOICEMAIL BOX IS FULL - and they didn't even know it! The invoice included a line item for a $49 evaluation fee, which clearly indicated was to be waived if Oak Plumbing won the job - which they did. So...I had to remind them to take that off the bill. The attention to detail, communication among employees at all levels, general competency, and customer service is EXTREMELY POOR. In fact, on their corporate business card is a nice little catchphrase: "Bringing customer service back to plumbing." WHAT A JOKE!! They also wanted to charge almost $300 to snake a bathroom sink - so we had our handyman do it for $60! LOL. Oak Plumbing absolutely deserves five stars! I called Oak Plumbing and gave them a laundry list of things I needed fixed. Travis came out the next day to do an estimate and he was amazing! He was here for about 2 hours, patiently explaining the workings of my old house and answering every question I could think of. He looked at everything on my list and then some. More importantly, he was honest and transparent about it all. He was so knowledgeable, thorough and easy to get along with. I felt completely comfortable having him in my home and would trust any repair he made. Shout out to Martina as well! She took my call and was so gracious and helpful. Don't trust these people for following reasons: -Said estimate was free then after estimate was done, said it was $500 which can go towards work if estimate accepted. -Johnny said they can provide a detailed estimate but after approving work, they said they can not do that. HUGE HUGE red flag. If I am paying 16K I need to know what I am paying for. -Johnny, the main plumber, promised work would get done 3 different dates and failed to meet deadlines 3 times. -Johnny left the job due to an internal altercation with no updates provided to me. (see photo) I thought work was completed until my tenants kept calling in evening saying the plumber just left midday without returning and they still can't shower. I had to call oak plumbing manager at 7PM asking what is going on and if the job will be completed. They apologized and had johnny come back out in the evening. - After new tub and shower enclosure was installed, same leak still existed!!!! it was later fixed but Did the tub/shower enclosure even need to be replaced?!! -They quoted me 16K for new tub/shower enclosure. Negotiated down to 12K. I later got quotes back from other plumbers for less than 25% of the cost. They took advantage of the urgency of the situation -To this day, still do not know cause of leak. Will never be coming back and am still angry about the experience. Update 5/18 Ariel called me twice after I posted this review and keeps trying to get me to edit this review.
