The iconic double white doors will never be opened again - by bus travelers anyway. Greyhound has been changing a lot of things in the last few years, and it's a shame because they were iconic for a century. So they're now located over in Springfield, so Downtown Eugene no longer has Greyhound service - except for a little roadside stop. I only give it for stars for the memories, and I'm glad I got to come in here before it didn't exist anymore. You gene? Me gene. Genie.

She said she was on Pearl Street. I assumed it was the depot. When I got there I found no one and nothing. REVIEW: It would be helpful if Yelp were consistent on its business pages, and it might be helpful for other Yelpers. This isn't the page to review for Amtrak.com. It's literally for the Eugene, Oregon station. Was on a road (train) trip on the Coast Starlight, and Eugene is one of the very quick stops heading north to Seattle. I ran off the train to see if there was a gift shop or a place to get a soda, etc. There wasn't, but that's OK. Inside, the station was clean and quiet. I didn't see a staff member, but as we only had 3-5 minutes, I didn't have time to even look. But I was happy to see such a neat, historical depot, if only for a couple of minutes. My husband started to unhook and prepare our SUV to drive us (and our five bags), to get to the airport on time, even though parking would cost $400. We got there in time for the flight, but not in time to check bags, so we had to take a different cross-country flight, flying into a different airport, having to stay the night in a hotel and rent a car to get to our home in North Carolina. It was HUGELY INCONVENIENT AND EXPENSIVE and we were flabbergasted that Oregon Taxi doesn't have any sort of backup when a driver is indisposed, and that they wouldn't have the courtesy to tell us in time for us to get another ride! NEVER AGAIN!!

They've waited through my flight being delayed, waiting forever for my bags and even when I had accidentally slept through my alarms and almost missed my flight. All of their drivers have lived amazing lives with so many stories to show for it. They always have a smile to greet you with and recommendations for the best food around town! Their rates are more than fair and I have never had any trouble getting ahold of them. Overall if you want to support a local business, pay better rates than uber, and meet some of the coolest guys on the planet, Cascade is without a doubt the way to go!

When they stop at predefined stops(without the red flag) you DO NOT have to remain vigilent and flag them down...On the Oregon coast stops are few and far between so be sure and call with your exact location(with a safe pull off zone) along the highway if you want to use the service and be happy the first time..

On the plus side there is a small ($20?) cleaning deposit but no "1st & last month's rent", etc. so move-in is affordable. Rent is about average for the area. The rooms are fully furnished including a TV, mini fridge and microwave. The common rooms are comfortable. On the minus side, the kitchen and laundry are closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., and when the house is full, 5 guys share a bathroom. The location is convenient: you can walk to the downtown area (U of O is a hike, but easy to reach on the excellent bus service); the house is on the major west-bound route with a bus stop almost out front. There is a good wi-fi connection for your pc and mobile devices. The owners live here, so maintenance problems are quickly taken care of. Street parking is available.

I felt safe and had the amenities of a house and was right next to a bus stop which was awesome. I was invited to eat dinner with Kip and Susy twice and it was very good and only $5. Both meals (Pasta and salad and french bread, and a Panamenian rice dish with chicken) were super good. Mr. Rice made a cake one night and shared it will all the guests which I thought was very sweet. The other guests were older and nice, one man was a writer who was very interesting. It was 100 times better than the hostels in Eugene and Portland. All in all, a very nice visit to Eugene. I will stay here again next time i come through.
