We've stopped here many times over the years, and while it's familiar, it wouldn't rank among our favorite rest areas. We've visited quite a few across the country that offer more modern facilities or a better overall experience. That said, this location does have a fairly nice shaded picnic area, which would likely be a pleasant spot during warmer and drier months, even though we typically don't take advantage of those features. On this particular visit, the rest area served its purpose well. The restrooms were accessible, the stop felt straightforward and efficient, and we were able to get in and out without much delay. It was adequate for what we needed at the time, allowing us to get back on the road quickly and continue our drive south.

This place is small, probably no more than 12 RV sites, but if you're looking to get away from the masses consider a stop here. The long-term tenants are quite the characters, but very friendly and you'll have a story to tell after you talk to them.
