OMG!! There has to be a dead hooker in wall the stench in our room was unimaginable. It was the stench one would imagine of warmed and rotting corpses. We should have taken the scented things the lady at the front desk was offering, but the office was over scented and one does not expect that intensity of fetid stench. The outside was freshly painted giving effective camouflage to what lie within. The carpet was terrifying. The beds so old and dilapidated. The smell actually kept us up most of the night and we got out ASAP in the morning. Worst of all my face actually touched this pillow... I feel dirty thinking about it.

    Comfortable. Cute. Clean.

Comfortable. Cheap. Clean. On the last leg of a road trip, was astounded to find everything in the Salem/Eugene area had price tags of close to $100 per night. Even the shadiest Motel 6. I rolled on and saw the faded Relax Inn sign at a freeway exit sign a bit past Eugene. It's off the beaten path, the last motel on "motel row" in Cottage Grove (I think there's 3?). Felt so fortunate to happen upon this mecca. It's just what you're looking for to stay the night. No more. No less. Save dat money for hot spring hoppin'!

As I mentioned before in the comments, this is the meth pipe found in a wrapped up bandana, I forgot to mention the syringe.

Andrea, the owner, has to be one of the nicest people in the whole world; I couldn't possibly say enough about either her or the Relax Inn.

Rooms & fixtures have been updated, are clean. Quiet, located near a residential neighborhood, & a Catholic church, away from most noisy truck traffic. Pet friendly room is adjacent to safe area to walk pet. Rooms have newer microwave, mini Fridge, satellite TVs. All rooms non-smoking. Lobby is updated. Friendly & helpful desk staff. Breakfast buffet was adequate: hot food in crockpots. Negatives: The exterior appearance, conditon needs work. A derelict former diner building is adjacent which makes this motel look seriously sketchy. Parking lot & walkways show too many gross cigarette butts tossed by careless guests or staff taking smoke breaks. Walkways could use power washing, trash receptacles should be cleaned or replaced. The adjacent residential neighborhood seems to include some heavy cannabis users, so if the smell of drifting marijuana smoke is a turn off, this could be a problem; however much of Oregon deals with this issue, so not unusual. But if traveling with children, that might be problematic. Despite the negatives, I will stay there again when traveling with my dog & to save $$. For this solo female traveler the property felt safe enough. I didn't detect any obvious drug/criminal activity on the property.

Swapped towels, emptied trash, etc. The one thing they didn't do? Make up the bed. Apparently that's not part of housekeeping here. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels and this has never happened before. Overall, it's a nice place. Clean, well-maintained, nice staff. They just don't care about your bed, I guess.

The meeting place was well described to us and followed up with an email. The shuttle was right on time. Chris was very personable. I loved his knowledge of the area and information he shared with us regarding the bike ride we were about to go on. He also had detailed maps of the 26 mile rides for us and also described some specific areas of the trail. I have been on many shuttles. What I loved most about Chris is that at the end he wanted to make sure everyone was ok and no questions that anyone had were left unanswered. He did not rush off. Thank you!!

This review is for the Mtn bike rental and shuttle for the Mackenzie river trail…read more The good: the trail is worth the drive (from anywhere) and the questionable service. You're riding along the Mackenzie river on a single track trail for up to 25 miles. The scenery is amazing. The water is roaring and clear. The trail is very well maintained. I'm glad this business exists and people have an opportunity to explore this terrific landscape. The bad: we showed up and the guy behind the desk was stressed and had a lot of anxiety. It was only us and one other group of two people. We planned on doing the entire trail (25 miles) but were told the top 9 miles is very technical and we should only do the bottom 16 miles. We submitted and said okay. Unfortunately, where we dropped off only allowed for 10 miles of beginner riding. I called when we finished and they said it was a miss-communication on their part and would take us further up. We went further up and did the next 10 miles. There was one mile of pretty technical riding where we had to stop riding and walk a decent amount. The rest of the time was all beginner/intermediate riding. When finished we couldn't call the shop to get picked up because there was no service. We rode along the road until there was service and called and txted the driver 11 times. No answer. We finally called the shop and were informed that "his phone was on the charger." They said he would be here to pick us up in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later I called back and got a lot of attitude from the front desk staff saying "we have other things to do to." Luckily it was an amazing ride. Really hoping they can get their communication and customer service dialed in!
