I cannot recommend this venue enough. Whether you are getting married, family reunion, or get away with friends, this is the place! It was so peaceful and serene like you walked out of a postcard. We spent 4 days and 3 nights there and the owners helped us plan the weekend. We went white water rafting, hiked the waterfalls, visited the hot springs, from start to finish the experience was top notch. We sat around the fire pit at night and the accommodations were perfect! I will definitely be back and would 100% recommend to my family and friends. We truly made memories that will last a lifetime!

The most beautiful property and nicest owners/host I have ever met. Will definitely stay there again. The whole family loved it.

We discovered these cottages as we were viewing the wedding venue a cross the street for ours sons wedding. A perfect spot for family and friends to stay during the 3 day wedding festivities. Jean and here staff were FANTASTIC! Above and beyond service was the standard, not the exception! Since we had to book well on advance for the venue, Jean was able to accommodate all the various changes in our wedding party as to arrivals, number of guests and what not. Everything went off without a hitch! Highly recommended! Thank you sooo much Jean! We will be back! Regards, Bob and Pam

We had our wedding across the street at Holiday Farm Resort so having the cottages right across the street was so convenient. I worked with Jeanne personally throughout the entire process and she was so helpful, kind, and professional. We talked so often that by the time we met in person, we had to hug each other because we felt like friends! I can't wait to get a chance to go back upriver to stay at these cottages again, and of course to see Jeanne! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making everything so special!

The meeting place was well described to us and followed up with an email. The shuttle was right on time. Chris was very personable. I loved his knowledge of the area and information he shared with us regarding the bike ride we were about to go on. He also had detailed maps of the 26 mile rides for us and also described some specific areas of the trail. I have been on many shuttles. What I loved most about Chris is that at the end he wanted to make sure everyone was ok and no questions that anyone had were left unanswered. He did not rush off. Thank you!!

This review is for the Mtn bike rental and shuttle for the Mackenzie river trail…read more The good: the trail is worth the drive (from anywhere) and the questionable service. You're riding along the Mackenzie river on a single track trail for up to 25 miles. The scenery is amazing. The water is roaring and clear. The trail is very well maintained. I'm glad this business exists and people have an opportunity to explore this terrific landscape. The bad: we showed up and the guy behind the desk was stressed and had a lot of anxiety. It was only us and one other group of two people. We planned on doing the entire trail (25 miles) but were told the top 9 miles is very technical and we should only do the bottom 16 miles. We submitted and said okay. Unfortunately, where we dropped off only allowed for 10 miles of beginner riding. I called when we finished and they said it was a miss-communication on their part and would take us further up. We went further up and did the next 10 miles. There was one mile of pretty technical riding where we had to stop riding and walk a decent amount. The rest of the time was all beginner/intermediate riding. When finished we couldn't call the shop to get picked up because there was no service. We rode along the road until there was service and called and txted the driver 11 times. No answer. We finally called the shop and were informed that "his phone was on the charger." They said he would be here to pick us up in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later I called back and got a lot of attitude from the front desk staff saying "we have other things to do to." Luckily it was an amazing ride. Really hoping they can get their communication and customer service dialed in!

We used to come here before many people knew about it. It was really enjoyable to take a drive, no matter the weather just to take a soak. We started mainly to ease some aches, and pains I would get from fibromyalgia, and then I had ulnar nerve issues, which I ended up having surgery. Coming here really helped me in my recovery back then. We also had a travel trailer we used to bring here, which I really enjoyed, because you get to utilize the upper pool. You only get to use the upper pool, if you are a guest staying there. No day guest users allowed. We have also rented cabins, they are also really nice. I highly recommend taking a stroll through their secret garden area. It is truly magical. I know in the past people used to have issues with the staff...this was a few years ago. I feel like possibly there may be new owners or staff now? Because things seemed way different when we recently stopped in. At least a lot friendlier. So changed in a good way. I just wish I had all of the pics I remember having of the garden, and the upper lot from when we would camp. We stopped going here so much over the years, for one we sold our trailer, and two it became so popular it would get over crowded in the regular pool. I was glad we made a return. There is just something in the water that makes you feel renewed again. The whole property is just beautiful. No matter what time of year you go, you won't regret it. I have even gone in a rainstorm, and snowstorm.

Disturbing Experience and Dismissive Staff Response…read more I stayed at Belknap Hot Springs with my family for one night and was deeply unsettled by what happened during our visit. After checking out of our campsite at 11 AM--as instructed--we were told by the night clerk that we could continue using the pools throughout the day, which seemed like a generous and normal amenity. When I returned to the pool in the afternoon, I witnessed a man openly exposing himself on a lounge chair. This was not subtle or accidental--his genitals were completely visible, and the pool was full of families, young children, and teenage girls. I immediately went to the front desk to report it. Instead of responding with concern, the staff member I spoke with immediately questioned whether I was "still staying there." I explained that I had followed the instructions given by their own staff and was willing to pay for day use if needed. She simply replied, "There isn't day use," and told me to leave. No one seemed interested in addressing the actual problem or taking action to protect other guests. There was no apology. No indication that they would speak to the man. No concern whatsoever about the safety of the many children present. The response I received was dismissive and unsettling. I left feeling disturbed--not just by what I witnessed, but by the staff's complete lack of appropriate response. This is not how a resort should handle a report involving inappropriate exposure near minors. Unless measures are taken -- I won't be returning. I'm sharing this so that other families are aware and so that Belknap considers revisiting their staff training and safety protocols.

Everything was so tranquil, with the state of the world these days it was soooo much of everything we needed to take a break. I saw some people mentioned outdated cabins in their reviews but I dont get why? Theyre historic and retro design but meticulously maintained and clean. Someone clearly knows a lot about design because it feels like youre staying in an art piece that perfectly compliments the gorgeous forests and river outside. All the staff we ran into was so nice and helpful and they all work really hard to make it a great experience for people to enjoy. Honestly too, the wedding amenities looked AMAZING. I have only driven out to the McKenzie river area once prior to this and it really is just a gorgeous drive. We stayed in cabin #1. I was so excited to arrive and I really must say the pictures just don't do it justice. It is beautifully decorated and perfectly set up for an extended stay. All the little touches like the BBQ and patio set out on the porch and board games in the laundry room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean - Everything was clean. The kitchen is well stocked with a variety of dishes, I was a little worried so we took food that was easy to prepare but I really could have cooked just about anything I wanted. I have to say that I enjoyed that there is no TV in the cabin and I hope that doesn't change. I spent my evening drinking margaritas on the porch and my morning in the same spot drinking my coffee and it was wonderful. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this little place and I cannot wait to go back in the spring and bike the McKenzie trail. There are so many beautiful natural wonders to explore in this area. Although I would be back much sooner if well behaved pets were allowed ;) If you're a fisher TAKE YOUR POLE! We unfortunately left ours at home and really regretted it as we watched many on the river catch their daily limits. **I feel that I should address the previous review that mentions the road and the sound of traffic. I almost chose not to book this room specifically because of that review, and boy am I glad that I decided to give it a shot (I also cross referenced trip adviser and VRBO reviews). Yes it is pretty close to the road and yes you can hear the traffic. If you want to focus on the sounds of traffic instead of relaxing and listening to the sounds of the river I guess that's your prerogative. I chose to enjoy the river and in no way did the traffic negatively affect my stay, and I could really only hear it when I had the windows on the front of the house open anyway.

We sat for hours just talking, drinking wine and watching the river. It's a very peaceful and relaxing spot. The location was OK, but Cabin #3 needs a lot of attention. A couple of the window mechanisms were not working, so if you opened a window, it stayed open. A busted light switch kept us from using the front porch light - so that was a bit hazardous. One of the reasons we rented a cabin with a kitchen was so we could prepare meals there. The kitchen had what can be best described as a minimum of dishes and utensils. There wasn't even a large bowl for making salad. There was no dish soap for cleaning up. There were no extra trash bags so when the trash cans filled up, you were stuck. Guest services were nearly non-existent. We had to ask three times - three different people - for more dish soap. What we got was a bottle with about 1/2 inch of liquid soap in the bottom. Trash bags we had to ask twice for. We had to ask two different folks where to put the trash when we had a full bag. For the price, I expected a lot more knowledgeable and helpful guest services and a much better appointed cabin. There are lots of choices of cabins and resorts in the area, so on our next trip down that way we'll be trying another resort.

There was a propane fireplace which we had running most of the time for ambiance as well as warmth. One of the issues I saw was that the front door needed some weatherstripping. There was about an 1/8" gap and as cold as it was outside the air was blowing right in. Made the space around the door a little chilly. Mattresses were pretty decent, but nothing to write home about.
