History
Established in 2015.
The cabin has been a destination since 1941. However, when I purchased it in 2015, I made major upgrades: New appliances in Kitchen, new toilet, Lopi Republic Wood Stove, full size washer and dryer, gameroom, Stanton Queen sleeper, Linens for King Bed in master, Teak furniture on deck, Grizzly Bear River Path with chainsawed bears, Library, Flat Screen TV, DVD, Blueray, Mega Bass stereo, 60 DVD library, VCR with TV and small library of videos. And, sound proof double paned windows on the road side so that you hear only the river inside the cabin, as it is located at Lower Cook Rapids.
This cabin is the best on the river for the price. It has charm and romance and takes you back tot he 1940's, but with modern upgrades for comfort.
Meet the Business Owner: Jeff P.
My family is from " The River". grandfather operated a well known lodge and 7 cabins on the river just a half-mile west in the 1940's. My mother grew up overlooking the Goodpasture Covered Bridge. Our family has lived in Europe, the MIddle East, Australia and Hawaii..and...we love the BLUE HEAVEN cabin the most out of all of them. I have a B.A. in Hotel Restaurant Management, and have put into the cabin special touches from years with Hyatt Hotels and Princess Cruises and our lodges in Alaska.. I love fishing, and there is no place like the McKenzie. The location, with incredible golf, hikes through lava fields, hot springs, waterfalls and swimming holes, rafting, and exploring make this a destination to visit, but seriously, just watching the birds from the southern facing deck with a warm cup of coffee is one of my favorite things to do! In other words...RELAX.
