We stayed in the Tranquil Modern space with our dog Duffy for a long weekend. It was a seriously magical space, as pretty in real life as the photos. Steve came out and met us in the back yard with a cute couple of pups, and our dog had such a good time playing that I think he thought it was the best vacation ever. I laughed so hard watching them play, I wished I had caught it on film because it was so funny. The house is an easy walk to Downtown Bend. It's off in a neighborhood, so you feel like you're getting a real feel for what it is like to live in the area. There were two bathrooms, one with a claw foot tub, and I had an excellent bath. The other bath had an amazing walk in shower. I fell in love with the creative, and thoughtful design of the spaces and Steve was generous with his time and showed me another space in the triplex. Such creative design, it was just fun to hang out in the house. Bend is surrounded by incredible natural beauty, so we went hiking every day. The hot tub at the end of the day was perfect. The kitchen is set up fully so, it would be easy to cook though we didn't since Bend is filled with great restaurants. Both Alex and Steve are great hosts. This place is amazing and I would highly recommend choosing to stay at one of the Enchanted Dwellings, I know we will be back on our next trip to Bend. read more

This was a beautiful well-appointed space, run by very lovely people. I felt like I was home, and would stay there again in a second.

I love staying at this place in Bend & have stayed twice now, once in the Garden Apartment & once in the main dwelling with friends. Toured the upstairs apartment as well and it was equally appealing. I completely love its funky art, stylish, comfy interiors, and peaceful zen-like atmosphere. We arrived at the main dwelling last month & were greeted by classical music on the stereo and beautiful flower vases spread throughout the place. So peaceful! The main dwelling has two smallish bedrooms with queen/full beds (one has a nice attached bathroom), a gorgeous tiled bathroom downstairs with big walk-in shower & heated floors & laundry, a cozy cool looking gas stove, a living room with French doors & curtains & tv where you could tuck another person on a couch, and in the main living room/dining area there are two awesome big window seats with curtains where a person could sleep as well, especially kids. I lounged on them and read instead while watching the birds & snow out the window. There's a small fenced landscaped yard for pooches (they are dog-friendly) and a hot tub out back. The owner(s) are friendly, professional, and have just a great positive energy about them. Definitely my favorite place to stay in Bend, highly recommended! Great location as well, you can easily walk to downtown and it's quite a pleasant walk, while still being quiet and off the main roads. read more

Stayed here last weekend while in Bend for a conference. The pictures do it justice! I was in the lofted upper floor of this house which, as far as I could tell, was completely repurposed to rent out via AirBnB. The owners took special care with decor, resulting in a really fun space. Are you tall? The loft may not be for you. Unless you like hitting your head on the ceiling near the bed. I'm an average (read: short) 5'8" and had to duck a bit up there. The location is great, too. Walking downtown takes 15-20 minutes depending on your pace, and there's a really nice grocery store nearby should you wish to make use of the kitchen (it's stocked with utilities and dining wear). And hey, this place is cheaper than most hotels, and only slightly more expensive than motels. Win! read more

Gosh I'd hate to let everyone in about Bend's best kept vacation rental secret for couples (I'm probably looking at having to book months ahead to secure this place in the future :( ) but I've got to say, this is the best vacation rental ever, it really feels like a "home away from home". We came here once in Sept 2010 for a few days and that just wasn't long enough, and now we're here for a week. The first time, we rented the Apt because we were meeting up with family. This time it was just the 2 of us and we had the Urban Studio Loft; so cozy and comfortable! My guy likes to ski and I like to just bum. So after coffee and an oatmeal &eggs breakfast (cooked in the cozy kitchenette), I drop him off at the ski shuttle that picks him up at the park & ride 5min away, I go for a run along the river trail at the Farewell to Bend park, get back, shower, read, go to the OASIS spa near the P&R, do a bit of grocery shopping, and pick him up around 5pm. How crazy perfect is that for a romantic get away?!! So close to town, hot tub, really cool and modern shower, cost less than $700 per wk w/ complimentary internet access, the only thing missing is my cat to share some lounge time ;-) read more

We had the great fortune of finding this place nearly 2 years ago and it has become our only place to stay when we visit Bend, which we do 2 or 3 times a year. Steve and Alex are amazing owners, we usually stay in the garden apartment, which is set up perfectly for us and our son, who loves the loft bedroom. The setting is peaceful, tranquil and calming, once you arrive, you never need your car again, town is an easy walk as are jogging trails, the river and access to great road biking. I only wish I could get over to Bend more often as it seems we enjoy catching up with Alex and Steve just as much as our time with other activities. Enchanted Dwellings is located a short walk from Drake Park and downtown, just far enough to feel private and serene. Everything is decorated beautifully, books on the shelves are interesting, resident animals are friendly, Steven couldn't be more approachable or accommodating, and the deck and garden are perfect for enjoying meals outside on warm summer days. I'd been to Bend a dozen times before finding Enchanted Dwellings and now it is the only place I stay in Bend. Don't waste time looking elsewhere, this place is as good as it gets! read more
